I'm really looking forward to playing this on my SX, at some point in the next few months when everything that's wrong is ironed out, in the meantime back to DR on Gamepass... :)

Spent a good couple hours on this now. Really enjoying it, good step up from 9, the cars have a lot more weight to them, makes the braking a bit harder to judge coming from 9 but feels really good. The classic cars definitely feel better than they did in previous games, they seem to have benefited the most from the upgraded physics. Sounds are an improvement, some of the cars still sound a bit weak but there's generally a lot more body to the audio, backfires and off throttle burbles are much more present and sound great. The classics again have seen the biggest upgrade here. Graphically, very similar to 9, but with much better crowds, better foliage and the car damage seems a bit more intricate. I have noticed some screen tearing and some stuttering but not often and the stuttering only happened once.

Content wise, loads to do, the historic stages are actually really fun, and there's a few few, Monte Carlo, Sweden, Kenya, Greece, San Remo, New Zealand and Catalunya all have historic variants. New Zealand, Greece and San Remo ONLY have historic variants. San Remo seems to have the most with 4, 1974, 1981, 1997 and 1998. But realistically it's one stage, 1974 and 1998 and 'forward'and 1981, 1997 are the reversed stage. But there slightly different graphics and the crowds are period correct. Also worth mentioning that you can drive any car on any stage variation, so classics on the modern WRC stages but also the modern WRC cars on the historic stages.

Quickly dipped in to career mode, pretty much the same here with a couple of nice tweaks. You can now name your co-driver for a start. But the realistic duration setting is what made me happy. WRC9 typically had 5 or 6 stages per event, and you can still have that in 10, but if you turn on the realistic setting then, Monte Carlo for example at the start of the WRC3 campaign, has 15 stages, so much closer to the real WRC events. This also leads into the next bit nicely, tyre strategy. You can choose how many of each compound/tyre type you take for the rally, and there's a new menu that shows all your tyres and the life they have. This is where cross mounting comes in. For example in Monaco, for the more mixed surface stages you can mount a studded tyre on the front with the rest being dry softs, just as they would in real life. Loads of flexibility over your tyre choices and with the longer events, has a key role to play. Very cool. You can also choose what compound your spare tyres are. And if you opt in to the shakedown, which gets added as an additional stage at the start of the rally, you get 4 additional tyres.

Edit: should add this is Xbox Series S.

Sounds like this will be on my list.

Gamestop literally told me that they don't even know when my copy is coming =/
Welcome to USA. We have to wait until the 7th for digital release. Amazon physical copy shows end of month. It's a recurring issue with official WRC titles. We just have to suck it up and hope it's worth the wait!

There's 2 different Lancia Delta models, don't remember seeing in the car list that there would be differences, yeah it is only minor but it adds to the immersion in anniversary mode.

Early release 48h was only for consoles.
WRC Twitter: "As for PC players, we're sorry for the miss communication."

They are now saying 8am CEST for PC in Europe, oh well at least its via Steam this time around.

Let's see ... hopefully it's not only a console port and they implemented at least the basics for PC (Antialiasing, Widescreen, Multi-USB inputs, Menu controls with wheel buttons)

Owning WRC 8 and 9 I was very disappointed. Simple things like FoV, the low res cockpits and the way to dark cockpits, in game wheel rotation not in sync. Also the FFB was subpar on my Fanatec gear so I had no fun with the games. And this time I will wait until they fixed their bugs. But I have no big hope for that. Nacon an Kylotonn had never good support for their games.

With the exception of widescreen support (which I don't own so can't confirm), WRC 9 and the WRC 10 demo had all of the rest, and personally, I've been happy with WRC 9 FFB support, certainly, it's better than out of the box DR and DR2 FFB support (which was broken at launch and for months after for both titles).

Perception is so different, I am very satisfied with DR2.
VR support - I really like it :D
DR 2 has good FFB with options for SAT, Tyre friction and Suspension whereas WRC 9 has SAT, Tyre load (more or less only weight of steering), Self Center (feels like the old spring forces) and a lot of canned noise settings like tyre slip, ground surface, engine which are not based on the road mesh.
Biggest problem for me with WRC 9 is the bad FoV setting, low res cockpits and the exaggerated windshield pollution.

But don't let's discuss what is better and only what's really available ... this should not transform in a "PC3 like" thread

PS: I'm also a fan of AMS2, RRE, PC2 so maybe my expectation is somewhat different.

Don't get me wrong I like DR2, the VR implementation is great.

The same can be said for DR2 is terms of canned effects, for me its however the better stage design and the edge in terms of tarmac physics that puts WRC 9 (and 10 based on the demo) ahead, on gravel they are close enough to not make a difference.

As am I, so I don't think that's really a factor.

Has anyone driven wrc 10 with a wheel yet on series x, personally I’m hoping for a better feeling than 9,also have the dark windscreen issues been addressed?

I've just given it a solid hour on my Fanatec 2.5, once I'd tweaked the settings a bit it was really enjoyable. I tend to use dash or bonnet cam and they were both great. The cars feel a lot heavier than they did on WRC 9 so there's a little bit of driving style adaptation needed, but it's really fun. The new stages are brilliant as well, especially Croatia. Also this is the first time I've ever been top of leaderboards haha, early access FTW!

edit: also, I've noticed on the stage selection screen that there's a "bonus" section, not yet playable, but it says that rallies from past seasons will be available too. I hadn't heard anything said about this but it's a very welcome surprise.

Is it cross platform leaderboards by any chance?

The bonus section is available for me, the deluxe version came with the Panzerplatte super special in Germany and that's in the bonus section.

Hmmmm, I may need to download some extra stuff then cause I preordered the deluxe!
Yeah definitley have a check:

The Deluxe Edition includes: - The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V and 1 additional historic event - The Arena Panzerplatte super special stage (SSS) - The Career Starter Pack - Access to WRC+ for 3 months*

Anyone experiencing the same sound issues in WRC10 that were (and are still) present in WRC9? Intermittent sound? More common during replays but sometimes also during races (this on Xbox Series X).

I haven't noticed the engine noise dipping like it used to, but i have noticed the occasional missing gear shift sound.

It's quite noticeable. Wondering if it's specific to some camera mode or setup/config (speakers versus wireless headphones) or something. Must pay a bit more attention. I have the exact same issues on WRC9.

I am looking for information on which wheels work in wrc 10 on the playstation 4 console. Can anyone have some idea where to find those? Official website doesn`t provide.
