Or one thing to solve the pace lap problem is:

The pole sitter waits until everyone has exited the parabolica. Once this has happened the pole sitter may decide when the race starts. just a suggestion.

Did some small races with Gippone, all sunny for the moment at Monza...
Quite amazing what that draft can do to the stability of the car...need to be so carefull !

Trainning session still in process so feel free to join.

Ok I can see your point, is up to the pole sitter to decide this.
It is just that I don't want a misunderstanding here 👍

Afther two hours of sunshine, rain has finally started, time for some wet practise !

Hey guys, sorry for the dropout tonight, my Internet seems to be becoming a slight liability again. Was fun while I was in it! Sorry akmuq for pushing you wide at the second chicane, didn't realise you were there til it was too late. Hope you all had a good one :)

Congrats GP on the win.

Didn't have a good one myself. I felt like there was no grip on the first few laps and I was going too deep into corners because I was braking like I was in qualifying. I crashed early and lost all motivation and concentration. Sort of regained it on the last ten laps but it was way too late to move up many places.

There is a new poll up in the thread (thanks Jordan for removing the old one) about the penalties in La Sarthe 2009, since they are pretty (or should I say extremely) restrictive now, you can choose to remove them only for next race - PLEASE VOTE

Congrats to gprili for a well deserved win. That was just the most tense race I've been in. Before the pitstops we just constantly traded positions. Great wheel to wheel racing. I saw gprili pit on lap 13 wheras I stayed one lap longer. You made a good decision since you came out 4 seconds ahead of me. Must have been quite an outlap. I knew I wouldnt be able to catch you on raw pace so I just cruised around trying to save my tires. This gave me the opportunity to pounce in the last 3 laps which let me cut down the gap by 4.5 seconds. I made a mistake in the last lap by braking too late so it might have been pretty close in the final straight. Great racing. Looking forward to Sarthe.....

I had problems too. I don't know if there was any lag happening but the physics were all over the place for me. First half of the race it was like I was driving on ice. I qualified in 4th but then couldn't hold it together in the race. After 2 weeks of practice, I didn't feel like it was just my bad driving! Let's hope Le Mans is different this week.
Please, everyone, clear your cache before the race and take note of gprili's firewall port and DMZ guide:

In order to have GT5 working flawlessly on-line besides clear your cache from the in-game options/network menu it's better to open,
for the PS3 IP, the following ports on your firewall (from GT5 manual inside the game):

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
UDP 5658

and also, if it's possible in your router, to put the PS3 IP in the DMZ function.
This two operations will make possible to have less lag and room connection problems.

This is an interesting web site to help you operate your router to open the correct ports:

http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/PS3_Gran_Turismo_5/

Thanks for the replays, gprili. Fantastic racing. Looking forward to Le Mans!

Nice videos and a great race 👍. I was lucky to get 5th I feel although my relative consistency paid off as I was far from the 5th fastest.

Definitely need some more practise in the car, it felt very shaky and unpredictable.

due to real life stuff i can't attend the next race.

I'm sorry Sientex, will you be able to attend spa and nurb 24h?

About LaSarthe we're going to do 12 laps on thursday :)

-Also if it's possible remember to have only the PS3 connected to the internet, no other devices (tablets, phones, pc, etc.) with wi-fi active (if possible)
-Another good advice is to switch off and back on your modem/router before the race

I sure hope it stays dry again...:)

Me too :nervous:

So there will be no penalties in LaSarthe tomorrow :) (close call 6-5)
Remember to be gentleman and don't cut chicanes 👍

I assume that anybody who does, could be DQ ?

It depends on the situation, usually if you jump over a curb once or twice a little due to a mistake or late braking error, that is not a problem.... once.
If someone repeatetly cuts corner to gain advantage or to overtake someone will be punished with +30 sec penalty on end time or with DQ. Is up to WSCC stewards to decide this. If something happens (but here we're all gentlemen and should not happen) I'll send the replay to turbogeit and we will decide together.

I have no problems with that, RESPECT TRACKBOUNDRIES !!!!

quick question. I assume we are racing with the rules where you are allowed 2 wheels of track providing the other 2 wheels are on the Rumble Strip?

The room will be open tonight at:

8:30pm (BST - LONDON TIME)
9:30pm (CEST - ROME TIME)
3:30pm (EDT - NEW YORK TIME)

Qualify will run for 20 minutes instead of 15.

We will have a pace sector at the start.
At the exit of the Virage Du Tertre Rouge (6) the pace leader will wait that every car
passes the turn and then go full speed (like we did in Monza).

Penalties will be off for this race. Everyone must follow the rule where you are
allowed 2 wheels on the curbs providing the other 2 wheels are on the track.

👍
