I went ahead and did a search for "cars you've never heard of" and was astonished to find none (that would normally actually interest me, anyway, as there were plenty of supercars that likely never saw noteworthy production), so here's one that a good number here are likely unfamiliar with, and one that more than simply interests me--the 1952-4 Goliath GP700 Sport by Rometsch. Built by Goliath, a subsidiary of Borgward, and skinned by Karosserie Friedrich Rometsch (this is largely why I'm aware of it), it featured an 845cc 2-stroke twin driving the front wheels.
Thomas Meade customized Ferrari 250 GT/L. At the time, Meade was the go-to broker for Ferrari sales to America. On occasion, he asked Ferrari to make slight changes for a series of one-offs.
I didn't know that Vanden Plas was a distinct coachbuilder; I thought it had always been the name for the top Leyland Motors trim level. But they had indeed been an independent builder of automobile bodywork from that time where two cars of the same model could look quite different.
