Hey Famine, just a small thing I noticed. According to your list, the McLaren F1 '94 can be won as a prize, but according to the prize car list/unlockables thread, only the MP4-12C can be won. I need the '94, but I'm not about to start the Nurb 24 hours on the offchance that the other list is wrong and the F1 is the prize for it. Just wondering if you knew about this discrepancy and what is actually true.

And if you happen to have an F1 you wouldn't mind lending to me for a few days, that would also work. ;)

A-ha, that was part of the reason why I had to reboot the list. The next version has been corrected for this.

The F1 can be won, but only by way of a Level 17 prize ticket.

Hi Famine, I'm using your car DB because I find it useful ;)

I added one more field to your DB, picture field. I have 920 car pictures (192x108 PNG files, those you can obtain putting online your car and saving the picture from "GT My home" web pages)

example:
0386.png
Lancia STRATOS Rally Car '77

all cars pictures are also available on the web

Are you interested in such a "field" ?

Notice that my excel file is about 14 MB

PWR and WPR are basically the same thing right? Where PWR = hp/kg and WPR = g/hp? Sorry if this is a dumb question... just trying to delete some columns on my netbook as the screen isn't very wide.

Also, thank you very much for taking the time to put together this spreadsheet!

For now, I'm just getting the data right :D I've got a little way to go yet, but at least everything's using the same baseline now.

PWR is pretty much the inverse of WPR. GT5 - and in fact all previous GT games where it has been used - uses WPR (in kg/hp) but calls it PWR. I prefer PWR (in hp/tonne) because it's more intuitive and easier to approximate, but I give the GT5 data too in case you prefer that.

This update included a new notation in the availability/W column - cars available from non-1000-tickets received a "T" note and a comment to tell you which ticket they came from. All cars now have power logged at 0.0 miles, even used cars, simply because used car power is variable and all cars are actually available at 0.0 miles through tickets (including the 1000 ticket).

Quite what the cars available through the 1000 ticket are I don't know. I can tell you that of the 1032 cars now available, the three X2010s, the two Ferrari F1 cars, the Polyphony Formula GT, the six Stealth cars, the six Chromeline cars and the GT Academy 2011 special Nissan GT-R V-Spec (GT Academy Special) are not available - and the Joey Logano Gamestop Camry probably isn't either, leaving 1012 possible cars.

Thank you for creating this. It has been helping me to get the cars I want. Thanks to this, I can now collect my favorite car over and over ;)

Thanks for the update, now my X2010's have a home.

Also in the course of matching it against the previous version I noticed the Lancer Evolution VIII RS '03 is entered twice.

I clearly didn't think there were enough of them in the game.

Great Work Famine!!!!!!👍👍👍👍

I've been useing it a ton. One question though. If you were going for a full bore data reboot taking milage out of the equation then why not take switches out as well. Alot can change with just one oil change.

Anyways, first thing I noticed in your list was the AC Cars 427 S/C. It's hp of 478 is in Bold(Bold values are unverified. Non-bold values are in-garage verified.)

I'd like to help out so I could send you a 0 mile 0 switch AC427 that has 463 hp, or I could send you a 3 switch unmodified except for oil change that has 487 hp. Just not sure which method you are using with the zero mile thing.

Love all your work lemme know if i can help, I got a ton of zero/zero cars i nabbed from tickets.

All of the power ratings are as the cars first arrive in your garage - no oil change, no previous owners. "Switches" were never in the equation.

Oh, Wow, no previous owners. That's a tough road to hoe. I guess you just need tickets then.

I'm fairly new to this site (post GT5), but whatever I can do to help you out.

Oh and I edited my first post after you finished yours.

Yes, bold ones are "guidelines" only until I can confirm them - and yes, it's a complete pain :D

I have sixteen 1,000 tickets on one of my accounts, so generating fresh data is just a case of ploughing through the tickets for a day. Painful, but gets the job done

I'm sure you've looked into it, but I was just comparing my zero/zero numbers to your newest .XLS and the non-bold all seem to match up. So if you were to receive a zero/zero car it does mean the car couldn't have an oil change or been modified. Just a thought, so maybe you don't have to plow those tickets.
I'm sure there are tons of folks willing to send zero/zero to ya just to get a great list. I won't bug ya anymore on this thread but if you need anything as far as tickets or 0/0 goes just PM me I've been on a hot streak lately with the tickets.:)

Thanks again.

Hi all,
I'm trying to clean up my garage a little bit (no need to - I know :)) and thus want to get rid of any won cars that are also available either used or new. I ended up with the following list of cars which should be exclusively available via ticket or win:

Code:
--- Exlusive Win/Ticket Cars ---

Gran Turismo	Red Bull X2010 Prototype
Gran Turismo	Red Bull X2010 S. Vettel
Jaguar	XFR '10
HPA	Stage II R32
Nissan	370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy Version) '08
Nissan	GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Version) '09

--- ??? ---

#Audi	R8 5.2 FSI quattro Chrome Line
#Audi	R10 TDI Stealth Model
#BMW	M3 Coupe Chrome Line
Holden	Commodore SS '04
#Honda	NSX GT500 Stealth Model
Honda	NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car
Infiniti	FX45 Concept '02
#Jaguar	XJ13 Race Car Chrome Line
#Lamborghini	Murciélago LP640 Chrome Line
Mazda	RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '93
#Mazda	787B Stealth Model
#McLaren	F1 Stealth Model
#Mercedes-Benz	300SL Coupe Chrome Line
#Mercedes-Benz	SLS AMG Stealth Model
Nissan	Silvia Qs (S13) '91

#Shelby	Cobra 427 S/C Chrome Line
#Toyota	2010 Joey Logano #20 Camry (Fantasy)

# = DLC
Could somebody confirm this, please? I don't want to do something which I would regret at some point in the future  ...

cheers,
nitrogen

All the non-DLC in the second list are available as Used cars - I just haven't necessarily noted that yet due to a lack of encounters. I shall update this using the UCD thread data from TornadoAlley soon.

Many thanks Famine,
This thread was how I found GTPlanet (can't have been looking very hard before). Keep up the great work.

Hei.

When trying to unzip the gtpgt5carlist.zip I get this message from winzip:
"End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a Zip file, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part Zip file."

Any ideas??

Download with a different browser. I'll hazard a guess you're using Internet Explorer...

You are guessing quite correct famine;)

Found your alternate link to the excel spreadsheet. Works like a dream!
Thanks for a great car database!

Famine and friends, this is a GREAT list. Thank you SOO much. :)

I was rather frustrated with the mygranturismo version, so I took your database, threw it into a database, and posted it online. Versus mygranturismo, it has a (much) cleaner interface, and better filtering. I don't quite have all your data displaying yet (eg new, used, won, etc), but I think it's coming along nicely. Plus as you update your excel file, I can just download it and update the site.

If you or others would find this useful, check it out: http://gt5cars.heroku.com/

I welcome comments, and will be looking to develop the site a little more over time.

Famine- some questions on the models of cars in your database. Perhaps these are all just regional differences. At any rate, when comparing the models of your database to TornadoAlley's Used Car Dealership database's models, I've seen a few trends.

The names of your models, if a race car, include the race car's number, eg:

Impreza Rally Car #5 '01

I don't see these car numbers in my version of the game (Blu-ray Region A), nor do I see them in TornadoAlley's lists, given his stated location on this forum, I can assume his game is also Blu-ray Region A.

Similarly, some of the parenthetical texts differ, eg:

Code:
Famine's list: MX-5 Miata 1600 NR-A [b](NB)[/b] '04
TornadoAlley's list: MX-5 Miata 1600 NR-A [b](NB, J)[/b] '04
These questions are mostly academic now anyway, since I've completed a translation of TornadoAlley's model names to yours, but I'm curious, and it might help me build automated tools for future use in merging updates from either of you into gt5cars.heroku.com.

Thanks!

e.

I exclude all instances of (J) - they're largely wholly wrong (check the example - since when was the Miata a Japanese-market car? It's the name applied to the MX-5/Eunos Roadster/Mazda Roadster in North America!) and they don't help demarcate any individual car from any other except in one possible case.

Racecar door numbers aren't included in the in-game names of any car except the NASCARs. I include them for my own reference as part of a different project, but I also find it helpful as a memory jogger when there's a couple of similar cars that have different door numbers. I exclude fantasy racers with multiple door numbers - because that doesn't help anyone - but real cars with two door numbers (F2007, Pescarolo racers, Audi R8 '01) have both included.

I would like to know that the "N" means at the end of the 4-character Drive fields on some cars, please. I used deductive reasoning for the "T" meaning Turbochargers and "S" meaning Supercharger, but for the life of me can't think of what the "N" stands for in this.

Thanks in advance.

This is a highly valuable resource, and I thank all who contributed to its creation and upkeep from the bottom of my chassis...

I can't remember where it's located on that file, but it's either noted in a comment box at the head of the column or an update entry at the bottom.

T = Most power comes from a stage 3 turbo
S = Most power comes from a Supercharger
N = Most power comes from a stage 3 engine tune (N = NA = Naturally/Normally Aspirated)
n = None of these

If I find a car where the most power comes from a stage 1 or 2 turbo, I'll note it with a "t", but I haven't found one yet.

Note that all cars that can receive a turbo or supercharger can also receive engine tuning - forced induction stacks on top of engine tuning.
