I'm taking this spreadsheet and turning into something that works as a tool for me when I'm racing online.

I'm making sortable categories for Weight, min power, Max power (with given mods, not max capable with all mods), Year, A check box for "Do I own it". Race/street/tuner, basic drivetrain too. Hopefully it'll all be sortable.

So if an online race has a min weight limit, I click organize by weight, race or street, then I can look through drivetrain, power and pick the cars I want as they'll be eliminated down.

I'm a total NOOB in XL so I'm hoping all this filtering is possible.

This isn't necessarily something that everyone can use as you'll have different mods than me on your cars. However, if you want to go through and plug in the data and/or update it as you come to cars that you have that are different then it might be of some use.

Thanks for putting this original list together!! It's a TON of info!

I do something similar. When I'm updating the sheet for this thread, I'll sort everything by Manufacturer, type (road, race, tuner, concept) and Model to get it to look like it does here, but you can sort by any factor you like.

One cautionary note on drivetrains - I do actually note this at the top of the column - that not all cars in the game have a given drivetrain. Where you see it in bold, I've had to determine it because the game doesn't give it and this means it won't be eligible for drivetrain-type series. One has the drivetrain wrong, still - the Spyker C8.

I'm not sure if I've found a new car or if there is incorrect data in the current spreadsheet. In my garage I have a Toyota Celica GT-Four Rally Car (ST185) '95. The spreadsheet has one for '98 and '91 I believe. This one is a '95 and has different base weight than the other two models. I've adjusted HP, so I'm unsure what the original HP was, but I haven't done any weight reductions so I'm positive that it has different weight from the other two models.

The two Celica GT-Four models in question are lines 886 and 887 in the current spreadsheet. Not sure who manages this so I'm just posting it here. Thanks.

The car you're after is on (currently) line 940 - it's a race car, as are all the rally cars, so it appears grouped with the race cars for that manufacturer. The list is ordered so that the manufacturers are listed alphabetically, then the cars are grouped as road, race, concept and tuner, then the models listed alphabetically.

And it's me that manages it :D

Just found web-based car database with possibilities of sorting and filtering car lists. After registering you'll can to mark each car as "owned"...and sort and filter them as others. And this database has car prices...and for used cars too!!!

Famine, thanks for your work.

Famine, thanks for your work.

That's mentioned earlier in this thread by the person who started it.

I have several issues with that particular database. First, used cars don't have a fixed price - we have the Used Car Database which tells us precisely what prices occur for what cars and when. Secondly there's no attempt to demarcate the power ratings of used cars and their prize variants. Lastly, a fair bit of the information there is just plain incorrect - there's many instances of users entering data for cars direct from the dealerships, which isn't reflected in the reality of the garage - note the most infamous case of the Ferrari F40, listed there at its dealership stats of 478hp and 1100kg, but which appears in your garage at 457hp and 1352kg...

To each his own, of course, and it has many things to recommend it. But both you and it need to be online to track your own garage. The file here can be used on any device you can use Excel-compatible progams on and no internet connection is needed.

Incidentally, my apologies for a lack of recent updates - my offline file's now at 506 - but Bob has been monoopolising my PS3 for the last 6 days. I'll get back on it on Monday.

You're right but:
- that database has 1047 cars
- having approx. prices (plus-minus some % depending on mileage) for used cars is better than not having ones; these prices are like reference points for planning your budget
- I didn't understand what you mean in there's no attempt to demarcate the power ratings of used cars and their prize variants...sorting and filtering for power ratings is here for used cars...and prize cars list is here
- Right now and before I use my own excel file based on official carlist. I need it just for marking what cars I have. Mygranturismo.net gives me more flexibility for sorting and filtering and, mainly, for planning budget. So having accurate specs in databases for me is less important because I'll buy all cars anyway...may be :) 1-20 HP less or more for Ferrari F40 is not a reason for me not to buy this car.
- we have a thread with UCD database but it's more a schedule of car delivering. Game days....hmm... I'm at 670th day (OMG!) It's a glitch for me I think because my first backup save file was at 7th January, only 2 weeks of playing, and game day was about №500
- I copy-pasted some portions of that database for my excel file (for some calculations). And not having problems with internet connection to that URL

Upd.
...And from right now I can show my garage to my friends...and can see theirs. KY forgot to implement such simple social thing

Which isn't much use if they're wrong. I could add the absented ones from my list right now, but I'd not have correct data for them to do so.

Our used car database not only has exact prices, but exact order of appearance for everyone. That's planning.

Used cars have different power ratings to prize versions of the same car. Which of the two power ratings is the one used on that site? You have no way of knowing.

252kg is quite a difference...

Those are dealership figures that have been entered from browsing the dealership. No-one's bought one and bothered to correct it, to represent the car you actually get.

No idea of the point here. But without knowing what used cars are coming up next, knowing how much they'll cost you to buy isn't very helpful.

Nevertheless, your connection can go down and so can theirs. You're reliant on two systems working to view it, neither of which is actually within your control. Download the Excel file from here - and the UCD database - and you only need your computer to work and that's within your control.

...And from right now I can show my garage to my friends...and can see theirs. KY forgot to implement such simple social thing

Triangle, Share with Friends.

As I say, that site has many things to recommend it. But the lack of accuracy in the data there makes it useless for my purposes.

Set of used cars in UCD is changing after each race. One race = one game day? No.
For me it doesn't matter, 13158 or 13769 Cr will cost car *****, or even 1675792 or 1756987 Cr for car #####. Knowing prices (even approx.) is useful to know a level of money which you must maintain for buying a concrete car. Right now for me is useless to grind for 20 millions because the most expensive car which i didn't buy yet is 2J Chaparral '70 which cost is "only" 14,4 millions. When I'll buy this car, next non-lower money level for me will be about 5,5 millions and so on. And I'll know which car I must gift-and-get-back-return-cheat for more efficiency
You're reliant on two systems working to view it, neither of which is actually within your control. Download the Excel file from here - and the UCD database - and you only need your computer to work and that's within your control.
Two windows on screen simultaneously - excel & browser, not the problem. And there's not the problem NOT to update online database synchronously with my excel-file
Your car database is not full, and UCD database too - many missing cars and short schedule. I saw Veyron two times in UCD but in file it's absent...I saw 2J Chaparral two times in UCD but in file it appears only one time.
Triangle, Share with Friends.
I know. Only six cars. Non-driveable after that. And for what is this feature?

Your work is more complex and more accurate, I see, but for me it's surplus with details and has many absences for orientation in quantities and prices...
...Such a simple question - hom much are all cars cost (approx.)? Via your databases I can't answer....But I have an answer. And I know how much money I need to buy missing cars, and how much money I spent.

Another goals, anothers methods. Good discussion. I understood your position

Set of used cars in UCD is changing after each race. One race = one game day? No.

Err... yes. Though this is a discussion for that thread, one race = one game day = six new cars. This is known information.

For me it doesn't matter, 13158 or 13769 Cr will cost car *****, or even 1675792 or 1756987 Cr for car #####. Knowing prices (even approx.) is useful to know a level of money which you must maintain for buying a concrete car.

But if you don't know when it'll come, what's the use of knowing how much it'll cost? You'll be sitting on those credits indefinitely - and if I tell you a car costs 13,158cr and it costs 13,769cr, you'll be quite upset when you don't have enough money for it.

Two windows on screen simultaneously - excel & browser, not the problem.

It is when the site isn't working - or your connection isn't working. Like I said - you need two things that aren't in your control to function to access your information online.

Your car database is not full

And not full of incorrect data.

and UCD database too - many missing cars and short schedule. I saw Veyron two times in UCD but in file it's absent...I saw 2J Chaparral two times in UCD but in file it appears only one time.

That's wholly untrue. Only three cars haven't appeared in the used car database to date - the Buick Special, the HPA Stage II R32 and the Jaguar XFR. The Bugatti has appeared fifteen times and the 2J seven times.

The other site doesn't answer that either, since used car prices are variable! You cannot know how much money you need to buy cars when they don't give you accurate information and you don't know when you need to spend this money either - there is no way to know this outside the UCD database which logs both instances of cars and the cost of them.

A simple question - what cars can I use to compete in an online event with a power cap of "x"? Via that site you have an answer, but the answer is wrong. Via GTPlanet you have an answer and you know where and when you can buy/acquire the car and you know precisely how much it will cost you.

Statistically, there is no merit to it. It only has use for tracking what cars you have to show to other people. Eventually everyone will have every car - what use then?

one race = one game day = six new cars. This is known information
OK. Known, but not well-known
The Bugatti has appeared fifteen times and the 2J seven times
in xls-file (days 1-131) there is another information
and what is a difference between min cost and max cost of these 15 Bugatties? 100? 1000? 15000? it's not a money
The other site doesn't answer that either
I have an answer...approximate...plus-minus some %s or even few credits
you don't know when you need to spend this money
I spend money every day for few cars and always have reserve for most expensive missing car. Only 74 cars have prices more than 1,0 million, 94 cars with 0,5-1 millions, others 879 cars are cheaper at total amount than that 94 cars. Plus some cars are prizes, some are DLCs, some I already have.
When I'll have many cars I'll not need many money for missing cars and what I'll do it load-quit-load-quit-load-quit for forwarding game days
what cars can I use to compete in an online event with a power cap of "x"
online in GT5? not for me right now, I prefer fun private races with friends and for authentic races I go to iRacing.
go to garage and sort by power ))
and power is not a main factor
Eventually everyone will have every car
daring statement - for getting all cars without reading tons of threads about UCD schedule it will be very difficult to do it; many gamers are just playing, even not grinding because it's boring and GT life is unbalanced that's why it's not so fun as it could be.
But for some others it's a challenge to get ALL cars. And it's terrible for me that the game is not so friendly for such process (and many other activities too, terrible again)

And I'm not a munchkin, that's why i'll use own methods - my simple excel file with all cars and prices and periodically "that" site for updatings and additional filterings

Hey Famine,
I haven't read all previous 13 pages, so maybe you have already answered on that issue. I just saw, that your database might be missing some cars. Compare the

GT5 Official Master Car List

and you will see, that your database is about 30 cars smaller.
YES I know, the racemods don't appear in your database. But i.e. the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is not in your database but in the master car list. And in my garage, so the car exists.

Nevertheless: great work until now!

Hey Famine,
I haven't read all previous 13 pages, so maybe you have already answered on that issue. I just saw, that your database might be missing some cars...

Famine
I was just wondering why you haven't added the three X2010's?

Same reason any other currently absented car is missing - I haven't seen one, even to note the fictional "dealer" stats of them.

If I haven't seen or acquired an example to log, I can't log it. I'm not adding blank rows with a car name on them.

As I said to Vince_Fiero earlier, if you're sure the data fits with all my other data (power, weight, drivetrain from garage overview; torque from car view), please feel free to send it to me.

Uh but do we have a list of all cars? Stats don't matter, it's all about the names - 1031 cars, right?

If it's just 1,031 names you're after, we've had that since October and it's stuck to the top of the main GT5 forum. This isn't that.

great work Famine!
I'm using Microsoft Excel Viewer, is there any way to sort the colomns? Specificaly I want to sort the WPR colomn...
thanks

In Excel Viewer, I'm not sure. Get hold of Open Office if you can - you can sort by three columns (which is, in fact, how the list is organised currently - by make, then race/road/concept/tuned, then model).

I've had to take a minor break, but it's given me some time to work out what cars I have left and use TornadoAlley's excellent used car list to work out when I need to buy them, so we should get cracking on the final half shortly.

Is there some trend in what tyres are put on stock cars and tuned cars by default. I assume this should be quite similar to those tyres that are used in reality.

I noticed that stock higher performance cars (like M3, M5, AMG) have sports-hard while racing cars have racing-hard. what about tuned cars that can be bought? And simple stock cars?

I haven't noticed, actually. I've got a week of ploughing on with the carlist coming up, so I'll make note as I'm going.

Hey Famine,

I've got quite a few cars collected now well over 1000 with very few duplicates, including a fair amount that you do not have on your list already. How could I help with your list?

You're also welcome to use my list (which in part is also Famine's list), which contains every car and price and HP and, and, and... too much to mention. See my signature, or the GT5 Matrix thread.

Of course, that means you can use it to complete your list as well, Famine :)
