I have played with the FFB settings and the power steering car settings, I'm no newbie to using my G27 and i know how to set it up how i like it. It isnt a massive deal, I just generally don't think the LMP2 feels all that great. I'm no wizzard alien driver but I'm above average and i've been playing Netkar for the last while, as i said. The LMP2 is exactly the type of car i'm used to driving in sim racing and I can drive it easily but as I said I'm no pro, I'm never in a position where I am going to be competing with the division 1 guys who race it everyday, I just don't have the time to practice, and setup (that i suck at) makes such a difference.
Example - My Silverstone GP setup I had been given for the F1 car and used for a while had me stuck at 1:23, I tried another setup and went 1:20 within 2-3 laps and it just felt easy. I do suck at setup and I don't have the time to learn to perfect it or practice it, I also don't have the benefit that real life drivers have (not needing to know how to setup a car to race) so I'm stuck with the hand me down setups or the iRacing basic setups.
Also, iRacing evolves faster than I get the chance to play it, I used to run a comfortable 59.7 (ish) at Lime Rock in the MX5, after my resub this week I did 5 laps and slammed out a 59.1 - I am rusty so I know that is not skill, so something has changed in the sim that has made the MX5 considerably faster.
Lastly, I don't race and haven't in some time, 90% of my driving is done in offline testing and apart from aquiring my D licences all of my licences were earned via time trials, mostly because on my old PC iRacing caused it to blue screen or just power down when there were lots of cars on track.
Last thing : There are an absolute load of people on the iRacing forums who feel exactly the same as I do, so I doubt it is me being "weird".
