Where is everybody today? There's no-one on iRacing today, turn-outs are really low...
Thank's man! Will certainly try to improve and go for the win tonight since I got colleced on someone's mistake on lap 1 on Monday's race wich left me 32 seconds behind the leaders on a race I had the pace for a 3rd place finish...
We're all at work, you lucky £$%*&£!![]()
sandboxgodedits-> gratz to you above guy! You like the Skippy then I take it
So I'm coming back from my break. What you guys suggest for Class D--- skippy or Ford mustang? I've owned 2 ford mustangs GT in my past and put some mods on them (real life I'm talking bout). However I was very naughty and all I did was street race them. So I doubt my skillz will transfer over into iRacing.
I am thinking that skippy is great for a not-so-awesome driver like myself. Cause I can see the wheels, etc. Plus the Skippy uses the new tire model. The mustang doesnt I'm assuming....
The Skippy is an awful car if you don't feel confident in your abilities....
I don't understand why you think this, care to explain?
Compared to the star mazda and higher open wheel cars the skippy is much easier to correct slides in.
Huh?Radial tires grip doesn't fall off that much when you drive over the tires capabilities. In slick tires if you over drive the tires the grip suddenly drops off.
Huh?
Radial vs non-radial tires depends on the angle of the cords in the carcass and the plane of the tire. The point being radial has nothing to do with the tread of the tire.
Well, generally radial is referred as this style of tire. http://www.michelinman.ca/images/tire-selector/tires/x-radial-dt.jpg
While Slicks are generally referred to as this. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/F1_Slick_Tires.jpg
No your wrong.
You can still have Radial Slicks im sure, its do with the construction of the tyre not the tread.
shhiny48Sorry. I honestly don't think Skip Barber would tell you lies.
MY bad did the New Tire Model get applied to all cars? I am getting caught up on iracing 2.0 news. I went on vacation right before it launched.
Also a NASCAR model, don't know its name though.HPD ARX-01c - Ford GT - Skip Barber.

To me the thing with the Skippy is to brake early and keep always at least some acceleration on the corner. It became much easier to drive it after I learned that and I've been enjoying it a lot.I have tried and tried to get the hang of the Skippy, but I just cannot get consistent time and laps in the car. I seem to spin a lot in it, despite being smooth with the throttle and brake, and I've even reduced the braking rate so that it isn't as sensitive, but I can't get a hold of it. Whereas the Mustang as more predictable and reliable, and I find it an easier car to drive and hustle. As for the Star Mazda, I don't know, I haven't driven it yet.
