Since CSLACR has switched to the NTSC GT300 Class, we now have only one Steward / Capable Host for the NTSC GT500 Class (L_Hamilton). It would be nice to have a minimum of 2 Steward / Capable Host per class

So, who can do the Steward job? The Host job? The both?

PM me to let me know if you want to have this responsibility.

Welcome to WSGTC newbies! I'll keep this brief and in simple English. Race clean, disciplined, and respectful around your fellow competitors! Fast but incompetent drivers need not apply - rather have slow and clean! Read the Racing Code 685 times (Click Here!).

You must follow the Car Specs and Regulations pictured below (TBA)! Not following specs will result in an immediate Disqualification.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'CHAT' feature while Stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them NOW! Otherwise, read the OP. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - Read it! Thank you for your patience!

All cars must be fully broken in, same as they would with set specs.

Pre-Race Qualifying
  • Since we're not doing the weekly qualifying, we'll do a pre-race one instead.
  • After pre-race PP Checks are done, the track will be reset.
  • The field will be given 15 minutes to do their Qualifying in Free-Run
  • If you are satisfied with a lap, DRIVE back to the pits. DO NOT press PAUSE and then EXIT!
  • Again, drive back to the pits! Do not press pause and exit!
  • Stay in the Pits and wait for the start of the race.
  • Once everyone has been confirmed to be inside the pits, the host will start the race.
  • Once the countdown hits ZERO, DO NOT MOVE!
  • The field will roll slowly and maintain 50mph/80kph
  • Maintain your grid spots while holding a double-file grid (8 rows, 2 columns)
  • Follow the Rolling Start Procedure Inside the OP!
  • Goodluck and Have Fun!

Mixed Class - Formation lap procedure

  • GT300's will sort their grid positions first. While GT300's sort their grid, GT500's DO NOT MOVE. GT300 cars move from the grid ONE by ONE in qualifying order.
  • The Pole car drives up and parks about 100 m (300 ft) ahead. (WHILE DOING SO, THE OTHER CARS DO NOT MOVE ONE INCH). As he pases the start line, the
  • next driver can move up, and so on. Once all cars are in the correct position and are NOT moving, the pole car may start the first of two formation laps. When
  • the first lap is completed, be sure to pass the parked GT500 pack with caution. As soon as the GT300 pack have passed the GT500 pack (It's not always that GT300's need to pass the GT500's to lead the formation lap, details will be provided by the host before race start), the GT500's may pull
  • away from the start line ONE by ONE in starting order. From here on, GT300's lead the formation lap, with GT500's about 45-60 seconds behind.
  • We use this procedure to try and ensure that all cars got a decent chance of completing the race before the timer (max 180 sec) runs out. By doing this, we
  • also get finishing times for (hopefully) all cars making any penalties incurred easier to apply.
  • With this in mind, follow the steps below:
  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying).
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero.
  • Cars will make their way ONE BY ONE to the front and roll as a separate pack.
  • Cars must roll at a maintained pace of 55 mph / 90 kmh.
  • Field will roll double file (Single file for the Nurburgring 24h race).
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1.
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side).
  • The Pole sitter will decide the point at which the race starts as he approaches the start-finish line.
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in front (same lane).
  • One car length is the minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap is.
  • You must always maintain FULL visual contact with the ahead of you (opposite lane).
  • You're front bumper must not overlap the rear bumper of the car ahead of you (oposite lane), doing so can be viewed as a false start and a penalty can be applied as a result.
  • You must wait for the car ahead of you (opposite lane) to accelerate before you do!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!
  • * In case of a disconnect during the formation lap; cars behind must maintain position and can NOT move up the grid. Doing so can result in a penalty for breach of "jump start".

As you can see, there are a lot of available spots in each room. But actually, because of a GT5 bug, we can do a nice race with only 12 drivers per room. It means that we stop the sign up when there will be 6 GT500 and 6 GT300 per room.

If need, we can do 2 rooms per conference = 48 spots. :)

PS: One more time, sorry for my wrong English. But the goal is that you understand me. ;)

If as the link says that this problem has been about for a long time and next week we are running 16 cars per room in a race that matters, shouldn't we run the same in pre-season? It's better to find the problems thus week than waiting til next week. Then if the problem is there, we should consider postponing the start of the season until it is resolved.

well I don't think final car choices should stand and should be pushed back because now my car has been changed and I might not like it. Its quite a big change as well from a t1 to t3 and a massive power limit on it which results in a flat power curve which to be honest I hate as you have to think even more when driving lol
Its not only a big change but its faster too.Both turbos are capped and the HP peak is lower with T-1 compared to T-3

T-1-- 335hp-5000 rpm 379ft/lbs-3500 rpm
T-3-- 335hp-5100 rpm 378ft/lbs-4600 rpm

The torque is now much more useable and the bigger turbo will hold its boost all the way to the redline.Using T1-T2 the boost drops off near the redline and top speed is slower.

This also helps with making sure the car has the right parts installed as there is no way to tell the difference between T1 and T2.
 
I will hold my hands up high and apologise to twisted lol. New specs seems great mate, just tested a few and all seem super close even tho I hate the 03 Subaru power curve but I'm learning to get used to it... Bunt tried tight tracks but hey I'm sure its fine...

We are extending the rooms to 16? Shouldn't we try 12 this week, then after 2.03 update is released we could do another pre season with 16 to test if bug is fixed. Start of the series could be pushed back a week. Just my thoughts.
 
Just finished catching up on this thread after a week of absence. I'll join the NTSC pre-race if my pedal brake problem is resolved. If not then good luck and enjoy the race. :)

I totally agree however I'm being I would like that to happen as I'm going on holiday for 3 weeks lol

I said IF the bug is fixed. We don't know what the update will fix.

Edit: @litchi I say we play it safe, and go with 12 drivers this week. We add another preaseason race and go with 16 next week.

I suggest instead the mixed class tonight we do same class just because there isn't enough people signed up...
 
I think we'll be lucky if it works with 12.

As far as delaying the start of the season its probably something to consider but I would have no problem doing another preseason round in hopes that PD can fix this mess.

the goal of this mixed class is to teach to the new guys how does work the start procedure (not the same than same class). So, tonight is fixed to a mixed class
