how did the pre season race go? How do you like the specs for the cars etc?

As I'm thinking if possible change to GT300, I did the race yesterday (GT300 only) and did a very brief test at Fuji prior to the race. There are only a few car choices left in the PAL conf. (RX7, Lexus, Garaiya). Fuji is a good track to test at as the first section tests top speed, second grip, third acceleration. In my very short test, I found that the RX7 has a speed advantage (first section), the Garaiya grip (second section), and the Lexus acceleration (third section). So the cars will have different strong/weak tracks. Indy road is a speed (long straight) and accelation track (slow infield), so I think the RX7 and Lexus will be stronger here than the Garaiya. Not sure which of the two is the overall best at this track or of all the cars (if any) will have a championship advantage. I think it will be track dependant.

In the race we had nine GT300 cars I think. CSL (Lexus) and I (RX7) had very similar pace. I managed to get pole at 1'34.0 just ahead of CSL at 1'34.1. In the race CSL/I traded place each lap nobody being able to develop an 'out of sliptream' gap. The race would have continued that way until the end if CLS didn't spin at the beginning of the second (last) stint and I got a 15 sec gap. The remainder of the race was just him and me laping at an even pace, not pushing as there is really nothing that could change the outcome with such a big gap.

.:Nürburgring GP/F Specifics:.

Qualification rules for Nurburgring GP/F will be usual. You have 2 laps to submit your Superlap.

nurburgring.jpg

  • IMPORTANT NOTE:
There are three problem spots, turns 1, 2, the T5 kink, and obviously the T14/15 chicane.

Do not go past the white line/run-off area on turn 1 exit.

Do not go wide right on turn 2, you must stay within the rumble strips and you can only have two tires max on the run off tarmac at any time.

Do not go past the white line/run-off area on the exit of turn 4 going through the T5 kink.

Always maintain at least two tires on the rumble strips going through the chicane. Two wheels on the grass is ok, never more.

[*]Green Flag: Polecar will decide where the start is (somewhere before the startline). He must make sure that ALL cars are clear of the last turn before starting.
It's totally up to the pole car, as long as ALL cars behind him are on the straight. He can not start the race if the last car is still in the middle of the last turn. Pole car has right side of track for first right turn.

[*]Make sure to stay on track at ALL times with at least 2 wheels touching white line / Red / White curb. You can not use run offs or tarmac of any kind to gain speed. You will be penalized heavily during the race and disqualified for having a dirty lap in qualifying.
Just stay inside the rumble strips and course white lines.

    [*]Special Mixed Class Starting Procedure:
GT300's will do one lap then line up behind GT500s and wait to roll out.

[*]If you feel insecure of where the track limit is, just join a quali-session during mon-wednesday and ask a steward to do a slow lap with you.

    [*]Pit lane.
Entry: Go slowly into the pits as it's a quick right hair pin and the first part of the hair pin is all you.

Exit: Nothing special about the exit. Just make sure to stay right when you enter the track until you are 100% sure that you will not cause an accident.
General: When entering and exiting pits, the white lines are ment to be respected. Yes, you can cross the white line when entering and exiting the pits. But if an incident occur, the driver who crossed the white line (The one on track, or the one who comes out from the pits) will be held responsible, and a penalty will come as a result.

sweet looking forward to my first super lap qualifying in a gt300 car. Also I quite like this track even tho I seem to be slow in the middle section I never get it right lol

Your laps at the end on worn tires were impressive.

Hey guys, had a pretty decent race with only Two minor mistakes. Had some close and clean racing with Monstar and maxking. Went off just a bit In turn 2 then monstar just took off. How's the tire wear on the GT-R? The Petronas SC will do pretty good till around lap 5-6 in a stint then it's like I put on comfort hards then some grip will slowly come back till around lap 14-15 where the tires completely fall off.

Oh, and one thing, Harrison, please take these races a little more seriously. Rage quitting isn't encouraged, especially on lap 1 out of a 43 lap race. Thanks.

Superb cant wait for this! :)

Edit: one more think my Subaru don't come to the specs listed above no matter what I do. The current Specs should be 335BHP @ 544 PP :tup for all the Subaru 08 cars.

Nice work. Where's Masi been btw?

From what I remember, he said he would be really busy over the past week finishing up at school. I've been pretty absent myself, in the middle of exams period, answering some tough questions for my life :scared:

I dont know why your car doesnt fit these specs. How many miles on your car? Maybe you need a engine rebuild.

I know Masi said we'd have to send our driver pictures once the car choices were done. Where do we have to send them?

I know Masi said we'd have to send our driver pictures once the car choices were done. Where do we have to send them?

YEAH RIGHT!!!
But Masi has a 95% full inbox atm so you all guys can send your profile picture to me ;)

I know I have said it before.. But.. Mad props to you Litchi for all of your hard work. 👍

Correct me if im wrong but i saw in a earlier post that Round 1 will be on the 21st but now it says its a pre season race

the season start has been put back another week due to the online bug.
this week we are running a pre season race exactly how a regular season race would run.
everybody will have to run a super lap qualifyer. each driver will run a 4 lap race at nurburgring gp/f, 1 outlap and 2 flying laps then a cool down lap. thus must be observed by a race steward who will note your fastest clean lap. this will determine the grid positions for the weekends races. pal divisions have until midnight gmt to submit their laps ntsc drivers have until friday, not sure what time though.
the races will be run exactly as the real season race. pay attention to track boundries. we will be running full damage.
refer to litchi's post for full details

^^^ I believe the deadline for NTSC folk is midnight PST, though I assume Friday night since our race isn't until Saturday.
For PAL conference, it would still be midnight PST for NA time zone folk, but Thursday night.

So do I run my super lap qualifier with the rx7 on the same power settings. And when will I know a room is open...

When it's posted, or you ask and someone's around.

Should be some groups out there this week.
The only reason for season delay, is we want to test out bigger rooms to see if the update helps, or if we need to set everything for 12 car grids for the season. Won't know till we try, better to experiment one last time before it counts.

I'm just as anxious to get this cracking as anyone, I know how some of you surely feel.
