.: Drivers Briefing :.

You must follow the car specs and regulations pictured below! Not following specs will result in an immediate disqualification.

Your car must be fully broken in before each race. Not following this rule will result in an immediate disqualification.

You are NOT ALLOWED to go in the settings page between feature & sprint race.

While inside the race lobby, do not use the 'chat' feature while stewards are sending out instructions for pre-race checks. If you have questions, go ask them now! Otherwise, read the op. We will be using a special pre-race qualifying that is listed below - read it! Thank you for your patience!

nuerburgring-gp-f_168131.gif

qualification rules for Nürburgring GP/F will be usual. You have 2 laps to submit your superlap.

The Nürburgring is a motorsports complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 km (43 mi) south of Cologne, and 120 km (75 mi) northwest of Frankfurt. The old track was nicknamed "The Green Hell" by Jackie Stewart and is widely considered one of the most demanding purpose-built racing circuits in the world.[1]
Originally, the track featured four configurations: the 28.265 km (17.563 mi)-long Gesamtstrecke ("Whole Course"), which in turn consisted of the 22.810 km (14.173 mi) Nordschleife ("Northern Loop"), and the 7.747 km (4.814 mi) Südschleife ("Southern Loop"). There also was a 2.281 km (1.417 mi) warm-up loop called Zielschleife ("Finish Loop") or better known as Betonschleife, around the pit area.[2]
Between 1982 and 1983 the start-finish area was demolished to create a new GP-Strecke, and this is used for all major and international racing events. However, the shortened Nordschleife is still in use, for racing, testing and public access.

Tyre Regulations

  • All qualifying will be run using Racing Hard tyre's
  • In every race ALL cars will can use of 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's. This also applies to the sprint races.
  • The use of the Racing Medium tyre's is optional.
  • During each sprint race, there will be a "Pit Window". This is where all cars must pit.
  • The Pit Window for each sprint race will announced in the race specific thread (here) in the week prior to the race.
  • If you damage your car and wish to pit, you may, however you can still only use 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's per race. you will also still have to pit in the window.
  • Failure to pit during the window in the sprint race or using more than 1 set of Racing Medium tyre's will result in an immediate disqualification.

important note:

Pit Entry: Nothing special about it. Only thing to keep in mind is to not enter too fast, cause you're controlling the car all the way on the inside of the guard rails. If you crash/slide your pit stop might me messed up, and any driver entering the pits behind you can get held up if your AI try to get the car to face in the right direction.

Pit Exit: Make sure to respect the white pit exit lines. You can cross them, but only if you're 100% sure that the track is clear.
And since it's slightly down hill, and cars that are on track approach at around 240-250 km/h, the smartest thing is to stay inside the white lines.
As always, if an incident occurs as a result from a driver crossing the line (Either the one on track, or the one wxiting the pits), a penalty will be handed out.
This is imortant to think about if your about to overtake a car down the main straight and plan to outbrake the car down the inside down to T1. If you're on the wrong side of the white pit exit lines, you'll be held responsible.

Running Wide:
There's a few spots to be extra careful at.
  1. On the way out of T2, towards T3, make sure to keep at least 2 wheels on the rumble strip at all times. Do not go wide!
  2. The exit from T4. Make sure to stay inside/on the solid white line with at least 2 wheels. This is a spot where significent time can be gained, so stewards will keep an close eye out here. Always try to stay inside. If we see a driver going full throttle and going wide, a penalty will be handed out.
  3. Last chicane. This is alos a spot where a lot of time can be gained by cutting too much. Keep 2 wheels on the rumble strip at all times, and you're fine. Any cutting in this perticular area will be viewed upon harshly. (Same as the T4 exit)

Mixed Class - Formation lap procedure

  • GT300's will sort their grid positions first. While GT300's sort their grid, GT500's DO NOT MOVE. GT300 cars move from the grid ONE by ONE in qualifying order.
  • The Pole car drives up and parks about 100 m (300 ft) ahead. (WHILE DOING SO, THE OTHER CARS DO NOT MOVE ONE INCH). As he pases the start line, the
  • next driver can move up, and so on. Once all cars are in the correct position and are NOT moving, the pole car may start the first of two formation laps. When
  • the first lap is completed, be sure to pass the parked GT500 pack with caution. As soon as the GT300 pack have passed the GT500 pack (It's not always that GT300's need to pass the GT500's to lead the formation lap, details will be provided by the host before race start), the GT500's may pull
  • away from the start line ONE by ONE in starting order. From here on, GT300's lead the formation lap, with GT500's about 45-60 seconds behind.
  • We use this procedure to try and ensure that all cars got a decent chance of completing the race before the timer (max 180 sec) runs out. By doing this, we
  • also get finishing times for (hopefully) all cars making any penalties incurred easier to apply.
  • With this in mind, follow the steps below:
  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying).
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero.
  • Cars will make their way ONE BY ONE to the front and roll as a separate pack.
  • Cars must roll at a maintained pace of 62 mph / 100 kmh.
  • Field will roll double file (Single file for the Nurburgring 24h race).
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1.
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side).
  • The Pole sitter will decide the point at which the race starts as he approaches the start-finish line.
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in front (same lane).
  • One car length is the minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap is.
  • You must always maintain FULL visual contact with the ahead of you (opposite lane).
  • You're front bumper must not overlap the rear bumper of the car ahead of you (oposite lane), doing so can be viewed as a false start and a penalty can be applied as a result.
  • You must wait for the car ahead of you (opposite lane) to accelerate before you do!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!
  • * In case of a disconnect during the formation lap; cars behind must maintain position and can NOT move up the grid. Doing so can result in a penalty for breach of "jump start".

.: CODE OF RACING CONDUCT & PENALTY SYSTEM :.

You want to report an incident? Click here!

All penalty's will be provisional until the 4 C's have been completed by
the PURE Racing Evolution Group

"4 C's" process approach to resolving incidents - Contact, Check, Convene, and Convey.

Contact - we will contact all drivers involved. People will be told against PM'ing us, instead they will only need to fill out the report (which will be a Google docs sheet) then they'll need to wait for us to contact them.
Check - we will then follow up by checking available evidence, like replays, photos, stories, and comparing them for consistency.
Convene - it will be a rule that in order to complete the process we must get together with at least one more official to get their opinion and confirmation on findings or proposed action, we will not contact any drivers involved at this point.
Convey - we will contact the drivers involved and officiate the results or penalties and send the package to series heads for posting/archiving.

Formation Lap

Here is an example of of nice and clean formation lap.

Class and conference switch

Everyone may switch conference or class 1 time this season, meaning if you do, you're stuck there for the whole season.
Car switching is an absolute no, under any and all circumstances. (obviously with a class change, car must be switched, and depending on the field, you may be forced to change cars if you switch conference, but will not be allowed to unless that car is taken.
Anyone that decides to switch a class/conference during the season, will have to forfeit every point they have acquired throughout the season at the point of change.

The "1 time change limit" is effective immediately for:

NEPALII - GT500 -> GT300 - Car: Autobacs ARTA Garaiya '08
Osr20_L - GT500 -> GT300 - Car: Lexus IS 350
Litchi - GT300 -> GT500 - Car: Nissan XANAVI GTR '08
Toyotsupra - GT300 -> GT500 - Car: Lexus Petronas SC 430 '08
El_Aliens69 - GT500 -> GT300 - Car: Lexus IS 350

Random bit of information that shows how close the GT300 PAL field is:

In all the season, we've never seen a single championship leader.

Before Fuji, obviously everyone had 0 points.
Before Laguna Seca, NEPALII and GTP_Cicua were tied at 32 points.
Before Spa Francorchamps, NEPALII and GTP_Cicua were tied at 62 points.
Before Nürburgring, GTP_Cicua and GV27- are tied at 75 points. (That is, if there are no penalties, etc.)

right I am working late shift all this week and I finish at 9pm GMT. So if its ok could we put the start time back 1 hour (depends what division I qualify in).

I don't really want to miss another race as my 2 drop scores have already gone however if someone can't make an hour later then that's fine I will have to miss it...

Didn't know we had two drops. Excellent. I'm in the same boat as you.

We're speaking of making it 2 at the moment, it's currently 1 dropped race.

I favor 2 because life > GT5.

I prefer 1 dropped race, to be honest.

But anyway; if you guys need to push back the start of the race by 1 hour, it's fine. If not, it's also fine. But whatever it is decided, I REALLY need to know the day before, since I'll be gone for most of the day, and if the race starts late, I'll use that time for something else and I wouldn't know until I arrive at home.

Unless it's been established everyone is ok with an hour late start already, I wouldn't plan on it.

Would prefer it to be 2 dropped rounds, 1 is very harsh :( It was 2 last season iirc, don't know why it got changed to 1

A round is a race weekend, dropping 2 means your worst 2 weekend scores will be dropped.

Can someone who has all of the GT500 cars fully run in please post the pp values using the ballast awarded in post 4 if this thread. Thank you

Which series are you talking about? PAL/NTSC? GT500/GT300?

When are the standings going to be updated?

It will all depend on the number and complexity of any complaints reported.
Hopefully everything should be concluded by Wednesday evening.

right guys,

just want to make sure that its ok with everyone (depending on div I'm in) that we push back the start time an hour.

I don't really want to do a lot of time setting up the car if someone can't do an hour later... So please say if you cannot

edit. I don't a test last night leaving work too see how long it takes me to get home, and.... I forgot but I got home before 9.30pm lol
I will test again tonight.

Don't forget to put RM tires on and you might get home 15 min earlier.

I'm OK pushing back the start time on Friday.
