1'28"8XX with a setup adapted from a previous car of the month tune for SH tires, 1'29"1XX with my own setup from scratch that might be a bit easier on the tires.
Now I really hope I will be able to join the furious bunch tonight.

Well Jocke. What can I say...
That was the best race I've ever been involved with online. I think we had more overtakes in 20 mins than F1 has had in the last 10 yrs!!👍:lol:

I'm sorry about my start. My gearbox was set to very wide ratios so it was like starting a Chapperal but once it got going it was really fast.

I'd definitely be up for a series or club with just the 'Zam. Thanks @JockeP22 and @IfAndOr for introducing us to Zam racing.:bowdown:

Apologies for my Zam song...I'm still trying to get that out of my head!!:boggled::crazy:

Man that was awesome, Gonny need to watch the replay from many different drivers views, seems like everyone had an epic race. Great battle with gamer and cgg, with if snapping at my heels ready to pounce. The pack got held up on the bridge allowing me to get a gap. Think dusty went off letting me get closer then I got all excited and started making mistakes. Zolon was right there up to the last corner to finish a fine third behind me ,with dusty way out in front. Truly epic race, best yet

I'd have won if it wasn't for that song going around my head. :D

It was a great race though, very close at times! I was keeping up with the front pack (excluding Dusty of course). Unfortunately my rear tyres went off faster than I anticipated and Zolon reeled me in and got past. Eventually the rear went to visit it's friend - the front. I should have tested it at race length. Can we do it again on normal tyre wear? :mischievous:

The lower powered cars always seem to produce some good racing. However saying that, I quite liked the BMW in the second race. :sly:

I didn't have that fun of a race in the AZ-1, I was off on my own for most of it, I still don't know anything about tuning, I can only tune AWD cars both through random chance and because they suit my driving style. And FWD cars I overheard Americans talking about a setup that works for most every FWD one time and I've used it ever since. So that leaves RWD which I can only compete with again through random chance (my 120i which I would've used last week is one of those I hit on), if Praiano offers a tune haha, or if a setup is provided like the mini club and the beetle club. So if there's ever an AZ-1 series, I'll probably be competitive if there's a base setup since I did like how the car drove, mine just wasn't very fast.

The second race was a lot more fun for me. For those who weren't there I qualified on pole because it seemed like jocke was the only other person actually participating in qualifying. Dusty started last out of 7 but was third by the second corner. Jocke, dusty and I got away from zolon and Paul since they were conserving fuel, which I wasn't. I was conserving tires and holding up jocke and dusty for the first few laps but noticed my fuel burning away so I gave up on that and started trying harder but dusty passed me anyway. He still obviously wasn't trying though, since he was smoking the tires more than necessary. I past him again goth e lead right as he pitted at exactly halfway, and I pitted a lap or two later, but the pit entry was like 100 degree acute angle so I pushed x to handbrake around it and that happened right as the pit menu came up so I was stuck with the default settings, which meant I got way more fuel than I had to, which delayed me at least 3-5 seconds. I was probably around 7 seconds behind dusty now, and jocke and zolon and Paul were doing the race without pitting. Jocke inevitably ran out with 3 to go, and dusty caught and passed Paul and zolon since he started semi-trying after pitting. I think his best lap was 134.2 and my best was 136.1. I was still gaining 6 seconds a lap on the leaders in the last few laps. Then at the end on the last straight away everyone ran out apparently except Paul and me so Paul won and I passed dusty and zolon right at the line and ended up 2 seconds behind Paul. if only I didn't get so much fuel...

Two of the best races I've ever had on GT, no question. That AZ thing suits my style just right and I really enjoyed grappling my way up the field with it. How BB and me got through the final two corners without taking each other out I don't know; there are definite advantages to racing cars with a small footprint, I think.

And that second race was an absolute belter. I love the idea of a race right on the cusp of being able to complete it with a full load of fuel. I recon Paul was using some kind of reserve tank. Fantastic fun, I think the guys who had to leave before it really missed out. We'll have to give it another go some time, and ban Dusty from pitting.

Cheers, Zo.

Get your votes in, who had the Zammest looking Zam yesterday?

I think Paul's and gk's looks pretty sweet. :)

I have to say that Jocke's motor looks best to my eyes. In the replay that orange is even funkier than on the picture. His car was smokin'. By that I mean it's tyres were smoking, in almost every corner, how the hell did he make it to the end?

Cheers, Zo.

It was a very fun race and it's not the first time Paul has shown his skills in preserving fuel.
Need to remember that lobby set-up for the future.

I'd vote Zo, Jocke and bbb and bb.
Btw I was trying to find a shade of grey that would be the same as the grey in the lower and back parts. Ot was looking closer on my poorly calibrated screen...

What drew my attention to your car, gk, was not the colors but that
HUGE wing/spoiler of yours.

I've tried a few things these last few days and made some races
for the coming two Tuesday's, using car suggestions from gk, Paul
and bergele.

I haven't planned for anything after that just yet, perhaps the Club will be put on hold for a while
during the summer since most will go on holiday or just not be around. We will have to see.

Just to be sure you have noticed but the concept ft-86s are much faster than their 2012 production versions.

Nurburgring and the x bow which I both despise? Glad I'm missing this week.
Just to be sure
It's sorted now. Post #2 and the thread title has been corrected, thank you gk.

If you're wondering who the driver is that is in the X-BOW photo with me I
have no idea. He joined me when I was testing and seemed like a very quick
guy. Then he left without saying a word.

Had a fun time yesterday racing with gk and bb and today racing in the CC.
First I had the privilege of joining gk with his friends at the Nordschleife,
one Swedish flag against ten Japanese ones. :)
They are wicked fast at 430/SH let me tell you.
I used the reliable 'If approach' and started from the back each race because I always
get that feeling that I don't want to make a fool of myself when meeting
new driver acquaintances. :embarrassed:

And later on in the day I joined in with bb and his friends at the Gentlemen's Enthusiasts Club.
One Swedish flag against ten U.K. ones.
They raced the Triumph Spitfire on 400pp at Brands and it was a lot of fun and very fair on the
track.

Today I think I managed to turn a few people into comfort racing in the CC lobby
where I hosted one-make rental car sprint races.
I had two Germans, one Frenchman, one Norwegian, one Dane, one Spaniard and
one Romanian join me.

We raced the Scirocco on CS at Monaco, the BRZ on both CM & CS at Red Bull Ring,
the M3 GT on CS at Nordschleife and the Tesla on CS at High Speed Ring.

The Tesla was a lot of fun to race (and very quiet), it reached 220 km/h or 137 mph on the
straight and felt great in the corners (meaning loose).
It's got a RR drivetrain too, so it felt like racing Aaroh's Beetle's again. :)
I had the consumption option set to Very Fast and that drained out the battery in just over four laps.
It was quite interesting trying to manage that along with managing the tyres.

The Danish guy questioned my sanity when I changed the lobby to the M3 GT on CS
at Nordschleife. He said 'No way' and was about to leave but I persuaded him to give it a try.
Afterwards he thought it felt great. I don't know if he'll join in the racing on Tuesday's
but at least I managed to convert one driver into the comfort religion.

Edit;
Seems many hosts don't know about Paul's little trick of 3/5 stars for the room quality.
A lot of headaches could be avoided by setting it to that along with Standard Voice Chat
and non-fixed ownership.
