Lotus Carlton
Could I suggest a day out for the club at Apricot Hill sometime?
These will be added to the suggestions box in post #3 on page 1.

I'd race anything on C/S, and since we had the Tesla on C/H in the wet, I recon everybody here could manage a grunty V8 on C/S.
And if we could race the BMW M3 GT on CS at Laguna Seca this should be a breeze, right? : )
That was a great race at Laguna by the way, with Paul winning while half the field ran out of fuel on the
final lap.

Or we could not allow the GT40
There will be no restrictions on the car choice this time.

I also tried the Shelby GT350.
I wrote on the forum some time last year that I thought the GT350 had the best sounding
engine in GT6. :)

That's the car I'll go with on Tuesday, for sure.

I'm the type of guy who sometimes wonders about pointless, meaningless things.
This photo from Tuesday is one of those moments;

dollly_zpsq0dehw2f.jpg~original

Is there a party going on in there? Why aren't they watching the race?
Why aren't there any lights on in the second floor?

Only thing that left little question mark was that Mikey try to push me off the track in BH race - why? He didn'n see me?
As I told Harsk before the races (since it was his first time online in a year) we should all strive
for having clean races without contact. It is only club races after all.

If I'm allowed to ramble on a little bit longer I'd like to add that going through
Eau Rouge and down the Kemmel straight in 100% rain and spray behind a fellow
competitor feels exhilarating. 👍

I had to give up with the GT350. It is way too slippery for my driving style. I rather like the Premium open top Shelby but I was 3 seconds slower in it than the Ford. And I did not do much tuning on the Ford. I am sure people can get it to go way faster than me.

Just had an awesome race in a Carlton with a friend at apricot Hill. Could combine mine and pauls suggestions together. Was at 500pp on CS, running high 1:37's to low 1:38's both of us. Tyre wear was very fast, was just a 5 lap race, but was excellent. I've invited him to join the club too.

have all been updated.

I got the impression that the copy of the seasonal event was going to be a time trial, opened in the club page within the game. The only difference to the seasonal being the tyre compound. That it would be something to dip into at our leisure & separate from the actual races.
Either way is cool but it's an idea. 💡

I could add a Time Trial event if you'd like. @Cu3e is the expert on those type of
community events so if I run into trouble I will be sure to ask him for help. : )

I think it would be a nice thing to have, so we can participate even when it's not Tuesday night. If we had a copy of a seasonal event every fortnight it wouldn't interfere with other race ideas & no planning is needed for that as PD do it for us.

I rather like the Premium open top Shelby
The Shelby is quite a handful - wheelspins in top gear! I managed to get a decent time out of it eventually. Probably room for improvement. Not sure about putting comforts on it though.

Yeah, the tuning stuff will likely relegate me to a rolling chicane..
Don't worry, I'll be there with you. :)
Unless I can find a suitable setup that someone's made, I never mess around with the sliders. Race hard or soft suspension and that's me good to go.

Well fellas, I've given a fair few F/R motors a run, and I have no idea how anybody can get them to match the GT40 for lap times. The best I've tried so far is the Challenger which is, ironically, far less challenging than the others.

That includes the Shelby 500R which, if you don't mind me saying, is all mouth and no trousers as far as I can see. Yes it makes a glorious noise, but what use is that when it won't put its power down on the road? "Hold me back, hold me back, I'm really hard, me!" it screams, then the Challenger casually head butts it and it crumples to the ground crying; what a pussy!

The six pack is 'interesting' and goes quite well, but I'll be sticking with the Mk1, trying to contain the oversteer, and laughing like a maniac all the way to the end

Cheers, Zo.

It's a time trial rally race hill climb event. On sorry wrong thread.

You're getting some good times out of the GT40 BB. I haven't tried it yet.
I'm still liking the Cobra for fun. I might get my GT350 out of hibernation and give that a blast.

The six pack is 'interesting'
I remember "interesting" being not wanting to go around corners.

So will we be racing these together or just a time trial?
Tuesday is still set for normal races.

A Time Trial event has been added today for anyone
wanting to give it a go.

I don't think the GT350 is for me. We didn't work well together at all.

Could combine mine and pauls suggestions together.
Not a bad idea.
Paul has clearly worked out the weather and time settings to a T,
so with his lobby settings and your Carlton it could be a nice race.

I have an unscientific completely unproven theory about this kind of cars. Way back when in my All Japan club we started using CM tyres we had to drop several cool Standard cars (AE86 Shigeno version was one if I recall) from the list because the slippage was just ridiculous with CM. My theory is some of the standard cars are on some different old physics model and are pretty much broken when using Comfort tyres.

Since then I have preferred the Premium cars. They are made for the Comfort Softs even up to 600PP 👍 many working just fine with CM as well :)

Another note for the wish box:

BMW Z8 Revival
No tuning / oil change
CM tyres

You might have a point there.

But in that Time Trial with Mallet ^
I used the premium GT350 and not the standard 350R,
but I still couldn't get a good feel from it even though I
had initial torque and acceleration sensitivity both set to
only 5.

I noticed you went out on track with the Firebird Trans Am '78.
How did that one feel, Mallet?

Z8 revival has been added to #3
Also added is a suggestion made by Harsk through PM.

*Tyre/Fuel depletion for race #1 on Tuesday has been changed from Very Fast to Normal.

The Firebird Trans Am feels A LOT better than the GT350, much less nervous
and much more stable during acceleration and cornering.

I have yet to try the Nova, if it seems suitable for the race I might go with that car
instead since it has a nostalgia factor for me.
Mom used to own one.

It turns out that the chrome line Cobra is not allowed to enter the seasonal time trial since it doesn't recognise it has being before 1979! :odd:
So I'll probably revert back to the standard version. Shame, because it looked good with it's shiney bits.

Edit: Unless Jocke makes an exception? 👎👍 ;)

Edit 2: The Nova was quite good Jocke. Perhaps not that nimble around the corners, but quite predictable. Plenty of power too!

The car description says it's a;
road model with competition spec equipment
Maybe that's why PD isn't allowing it for their seasonal, I don't know.

Unless Jocke makes an exception?
He does.

The Nova was quite good
Much obliged. I haven't tried it yet, and I am also curious about the 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado (Jay Leno dealership).
So many options.

I see some additional Time Trial's have been run;

"road model with competition spec equipment"
Strange, because it allows tuned cars which are full of added bits!

Excellent. I'll take the covers off again. The bling returns.

Oldsmobile Toronado
1000hp. Comfort tyres. Good luck. ;)
Actually that car probably wouldn't be allowed in the seasonal TT either!

There's also the Pontiac Tempest that's pretty good with the right setup.
