Turnaround race?

I haven't settled on a car for the 1st race yet. I've barely done any testing, I'll get to it soon.
I currently have the B-spec 24hr Nurburgring running. It's my 1st time using B-spec since I tested it quickly when it was released but it's free money while I get on with other things.

Some say he has driven a length the equivalent of a trip to the moon and back again in a Z8.

It made me think about this guy who's always the fastest in my friends list in the seasonals.
last time I checked he was around 750k km so that was pretty close to a round trip to the moon...

I take it that's you?
You've caught me out. Aye that's me and my Mustang. It's a good job I didn't have my high heels on. That would have been embarrassing.
Or it feels that way, driving these cars on Comforts!
Nice wheel! It does feel more like using an anchor than racing brakes at times.
The d-pad on the wrong side would rule that one out for me.
Just turn it upside down. Oh wait, hang on.

I need to spend 400,000 a week restoring the rigidity on the HSV
 What are you doing to it!? It'd be cheaper to buy a new one every few weeks.

Congratulations to the fastest driver in;
Headmaster Mallet's Time Trial
https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gt6/user/#!/clubid/1001609/event/1046775/

buybon355 with a lap time of 1:36.429 in the GT40 Mark I '66. 👍
I believe the trial is still open for a few more hours, but I'd be happy to declare
bb the winner.

Remember this?

I have added a poll to see what you drivers think.
We only tried Nordschleife, Laguna and Monaco before (half a year ago!),
there's still Sierra and Spa and a few other tracks that could be fun.

I haven't settled on a car for the 1st race yet.

Mallet, I have done a fair bit of testing for this one, and I can tell you that the Mustang Mach1 seems to be the quickest F/R, marginally ahead of the Trans Am. In fact, they are so far ahead of the other F/R motors I'm having to change my mind and go for the Trans Am myself. I'd go for the Mach 1, but the only time I ever saw one of those in real life it had Jimmy Saville in it................:yuck:

Your motors look very nice for tonight Jocke, tasteful, in a garish sort of way. Hope I can come up with something half as good.

Cheers, Zo.

I've just had another 10 minutes in the Trans Am while Dusty drove the GT40.
I've got some running around to do now but I'd like to give the Mach 1 a try too, time is ticking away though...

It's not staying open for the same amount of time as the seasonal event?
Also, see above.

For some reason I can't join online through GT6?!?!?:banghead:

It worked fine this morning and now won't let me into any if the online tabs including the seasonal events!!!

Tried resetting everything but still exists.

So long story short won't be joining you for the races. Very sad as I was for once quite competitive in the gt40! But rubbish in the F/R cars!

Have fun and hopefully it'll start working again. 👍

I'll have to give these a try because they might affect my settings. And also the lights, since it does eventually go dark during the evening race. I see the RB Jr has lights!

Lotus tuned and RB untuned?
Yes the Lotus Carlton will be tuned, 500pp on Comfort Softs.
The Red Bull jr will be untuned (perhaps a slight use of the power limiter) and
also on CS.

Both races will be held at Apricot Hill using your settings (which seem very detailed). :)

Actually I only have an untouched anniversary edition GT40. If I can make the additional race I could "jump" into that.
Your start in race #3 was incredible. Like a bullet from a gun. : )

I'm down to 2.5 million now
I think I had ~391,000 credits in total when shutting down last night. :embarrassed:
last time I checked he was around 750k km

:D

I set it to close right after our races on the 28th.

For some reason I can't join online through GT6
I saw you trying multiple times suts, too bad you never made it to us.

Well done to everyone for making such clean and fun races out of some beasts of cars.
I forgot to save the Sierra race so if anyone feels up for posting the result it'd
be interesting. Not necessary though.

I had quite a long and enjoyable battle with Mallet for probably 80% of the first race.
Sierra was okay but I definitely struggled with the GT40. It took me nine laps to learn
how to drive it, too bad the race ended the lap after that. :embarrassed:

It'll be fun to watch the other battles going on from the replay. Haven't done so yet.

@bloodyboyblue said something after the GT40 race about me having less power? I think I just set everything to default & removed the aero & ballast to try to comply with the no tuning rule.
Was it just a power difference from not having an oil change or did I mess something up?

Anyone got a good setup for the Lotus Carlton?

Hmmmm............ Okay, I'm no good at setting cars up, but the racing suspension is fantastic straight out of the box to be honest (camber eliminated mind). That's my input Paul, but it really is, honest. Had a spin this afternoon and it felt a bit inert at first after the drama of the American cars we've been using, but with a few laps under its belt it came alive and it's fantastic. Doesn't really answer your question does it, but at least you know you don't have to fiddle to get it working nicely.

Cheers, Zo.

Well actually I don't think it has - well not by that much (if at all).

I used the shifter and the clutch. It allows for a much faster standing start - when I get it right. Get it wrong and I stall it! Quite hard to hear my engine revs above the others at times. Slip the clutch just right and you can accelerate rapidly without waiting for the "auto" clutch to do it's thing.
When I remember to use it, I usually make up a few places at the start - then loose them again at the first corner.

Not easy on a controller though, it needs a fancy wheel thing.

Interesting. Well done : )

Will it work on this too?

I just figured you hadn't changed the oil since you had 454 hp or something and everyone else had like 479.
