Well gents, I'm back! Just finished firing the new ps3 up. I managed to save my garage on a memory stick for GT 5 so I should bee in good shape. I have a release copy of gt5, so updates will take a while and I plan on running them tonight after some GTA 5. I won't be in this week's races as I haven't practiced in a month and I'm going to mess around with GTA 5 for a bit. If all's well I'll see everyone at practice on Wednesday. I need the turtle home friend request when someone gets a moment. Can't wait to see the Turtles out on the track.

How'd you get a new one?

I has a couple of guitars hanging on the wall that I hadn't played in several years. I just traded them in at Guitar Center. I only play one of my guitars, and I still have a couple backups just in case. It was aggravating not having a PlayStation!

YOU DID WHAT!? They better have not been good guitars.

Hey glad your back scarecrow. Lightening can't keep a good man or turtle down for long:tup:

I've been running some laps at GP/D. I'm running mid 1.47's with a fast lap of 1.46:890.
Running B/B at 3/5. That B/B seems ok but wondering if I should run it higher even though I can't tell much difference when I do.

Wonder who'll be the one to knock the big white safety barriers into the track at the chican. Ha ha hope not me. Have a good morning fella's i'm off to work.

Try 3/9 and you're goin pretty fast. Was running 1'46 with phish. Fast of a 46.189 and almost a 45

Man, that has got to be rite on the edge every turn to get that kinda time.👍

This little car brakes good. And after about 3 laps the tires gripped a lot better. I was able to shorten my braking point some.

Depending on how many laps phish decides to make the race, may not even need to pit. Tires seemed to hold up pretty good.

Would you like a handy lap guide like I used to make?

Sure would wins.👍 I'm will to say some other guys would too. I lose the most of my time in T1 just can't get my turn in right everytime and that pesky Chican.

When you and phish were running it did draft come into play any?

I don't think I ever got in his draft but he stayed in mine and his fastest was a 46.190. I'll write a guide in a little bit. I may make it to race tonight. Depends on how long my stores take.

Alrite cool. And thanks for the compliment. I've been a busy turtle hard at work. Plugging away. A second here a few tenths there. I owe it to you and the rest of the turtles.

Hope you can make it tonight.

The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports

"It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free."

The reason The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports is the first thing you read when you get to Turtle Racing League is because if you do not believe this rule applies to you, then you do not need to read any further because this league is not for you. You are encouraged to read and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

-Rolling Starts x2-

As Turtles, We all Respect every racer on the track, and Race Fair, and Clean. This is Something I would like to try. The 1st Lap when the race begins, you do Not have to go all out right away. The Racer with the Pole in the 1st race will go around the track at a slow speed leading up to the start. Before we approach the start line on the pace lap, Please try to give as much space in between each racer, and having no contact during a pace lap. I believe us turtles will not hit each other during the pace lap or hopefully not during the race. As we come out of the last turn leading to the start of the race, which in this case would be on Lap 2. The Pole Racer must still be in its pace. as everyone gathers us in a double formation. Now, The Pole sitter has the right of way when to accelerate to begin the race! not the 2nd placer, 3rd or lower. Everyone behind the Pole sitter has to wait until the Pole sitter takes off. You can time it when he does accelerate, however, you must make sure, If you are able to pass the pole sitter before the first turn, you are fine and should be able to go through the first turn clean. However if you were not able to fully successfully pass the pole sitter and the front of your car is by his rear of his car, he has the right of way. Remember this whole thing is the first turn rule! We decided to do double formation, because it would first warm up the tires on pace lap, Not smoke your tires at the beginning, more space to work with when approaching the first turn for a cleaner exist.
--Pace Lap Speed is 60 MPH-70 MPH Depending on track--
-60 MPH FIRST LAP PACE SPEED-

Policies

The First Turn Rule - It is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1 and not try to improve it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. 4) If you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn.

Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to effectively avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers who are being careful and doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. You can not win the race on the 1st turn or even the 1st lap. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable, and only results in incidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass on the low side. The trailing driver must also have gained at least a half a car length lead before braking begins so the leading driver can see his position and avoid contact.

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. It is a matter to respect every Turtle on the track, as we are competing against each other on the track, we all must remain clean at all times. If you know you made a mistake on the track by pushing a turtle off track, please let them gain their position back. We are Turtle Racing League, and we want to be remembered as a respectful clean racer towards any racer out there. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

RACE CLEAN AND HAVE FUN! COME OUT AND JOIN US FOR CLOSE INTENSE RACING!

The Wins GP/D Lap Guide

I'm going off memory here and might be a tad off but this car is pretty straight forward on this track. As with all FF cars, when you apply more throttling you get more under steer.

T1 - break just a tad before the rumble strip on the left begin. Do full on brake until the point where you begin to turn then go half brake to a gradual release. Try to hit the apex as best as you can, even use the ebrake if you must. After exiting t1 go to the far right to set up for..

T2 - I'm not not the best here but I use no braking for this corner. I stay close to the inside and when I see that pointy apex coming up I floor it which should put you on the outside rumbles for

T3 - practice this section. You can gain massive time on this section. I use the tire marks on the ground for a braking point. Do a late apex for this corner and hug the inside.

T4 - if you do t3 correctly you will be on the left side of the track. Flick to 3rd when you're turning and aim for the elevated apex. If you overshoot the exit, you will get a penalty so practice this until you feel comfortable.

T5 - brake right before the rumbles on the left begin. And do a somewhat later apex. I usually go full throttle once I hit that dip mid corner. Do not go up on the elevated rumbles on exit.

T6 - just a slight dab of your brake at 50 meter sign to cut in the get on the gas. Don't run up on the green apex but you can on the outside during exit.

T6 - just a slight dab of the brake where the coloration changes on the track edge then coast to the apex and floor it on out to the chicane.

T7 - mr chicanery pants. Brake at the 100 meters sign, then cut the piss out of the corners but don't hit the white barriers (busted)

T8 - brake just after the white line that runs across the track. Stay in second until you see that guard rail arrow thing on the right then go to 3rd and beat its ass to the finish line

Ok.

And I won't make it tonight..someone host for me tonight and pm me the results

Did my best Vettel imitation in race 1, pulling off pole and then pulling away from the pack at the start of the race. Differing pit strategies made the race interesting but pitting half way through was the best choice.

Race 2 started off poorly for me but once I got the car underneath me I thought I would catch the leaders. Alas, all I was able to do is hold station in fourth wondering if my car had lost power. I always note a few speed trap times and could see I wasn't hitting my earlier speeds. Dolph had great pit strategy while Hjhr got stuck too long in the pits and Dolph was able to take P1. He never looked back.

Fun night of racing. Moral of my story, change your oil every time before you race. My car was down 7pp and many HP at the end of race 2. Rookie mistake. When in doubt, change it out. :grumpy:

Glad to hear the races went good last night! 👍

Again I apoligize I didn't make last night, I was working last night..my boss gave me a call around noon saying I had to work that night..which is dissapointing as I was scheduled to host for you guys last night. I believe I will make next Saturday for sure. Trying not to become too busy and get some more time for turtle racing league. Laps for each race will be updated soon.

Too whoever hosted last night, thank you!

Anyone want to have an unofficial "I practiced for last night then couldn't make the race" race sometime today? Maybe a 15 lap run?

Let me know. I was looking forward to it and missed it due to last minute plans.

Depends on what time tonight and if I can pull myself away from Diablo 3

I am down for this JDoc! What time do you plan to do this?

I am so disappointed last night... lap 18 I think it was... I pitted then suddenly my internet went down. :banghead:

I didn't bother catching up to division 1 guys and played it safe until the dreaded disconnection!

So who won the 1st and 2nd race? I am interested to know if GarageFather caught up since he pitted early and I don't think HJHR and Dolph planned to pit.

How about 8EST in Turtle Home. 2 15 lap races. No qualify, just let the first race start as is. Reverse grid 2nd race.

An encore of last nights setup.

Who's in?
