Monday Lineup:

1200pp
4WD (595) Mine's BNR34 Skyline GTR N1 Base '06
FR (601) Mercedes CLK Touring Car '00

900pp
FF (442) Ford Focus RS '02
MR (454) Acura NSX '04

I'm thinking with the 1200pp lineup we should run Racing Hards. But it doesn't matter to me.
I will totally leave it up to you that are racing.

I will bring up one thing about why I started Cap racing. It was to put the emphasis on road cars. That was the reason for the 2000pp cap and for the tire regs only using sports tires. I do feel that if we gravitate to using high pp cars with sticky tires that we will loose a bit of the charm that is PP racing.

That being said have a blast on this the last night of GT 5 Cap racing. I am looking forward to some new cars, tacks and of course the new physics.

Have fun with the last GT5 Cap Racing night. Sorry I can't make it but I'm looking forward to next week and GT6!

I agree Joby. But some of the caged animals in our family wanted some heavy machinery for the last night of GT5.

Back to our original programming next week :)

That is IF I can find time to earn enough credits to buy 4 cars appropriate to race next week. If not, I will still host and commentate!

Possibly we could shrink next week and just race 2 cars if everyone doesn't have 4 by then?

Assuming the PP is low I think we will be ok. I would suggest keeping it under 1600 plus with the split it should not be to hard to prioritize spending on a few key cars.

something like a 900/700 split should be pretty easy. But I will leave the numbers up to the winner. Have fun tonight.

We could always just "run what we brung" and see who has what. It looks like a 350pp car will be our starter car.

I also noticed that all those Mazda concept cars now have defined drive trains, which is nice

You have to buy a fit and that leaves you with 13k. There are prize cars to be won and credits that go along with those wins. There also appear to be seasonal events from the start. Some will also have the anniversary cars to pull from. If it comes down to it, we could allow the power limiter to be used to even it up a bit.

All of this is based on looking at the leaked gameplay details. It is possible that none of what I just said will apply after the day 1 patch or it's possible that it may all apply.

Sounds good. Going to warn the wife I may not be available for TV time as much as usual next week. We'll see how she reacts...

I heard that was a rumor and is not the case. Hopefully we can choose which car we buy but the Fit wouldn't be too horrible.

I've been giving my wife a countdown for a week now, haha. She has a baby shower to go to Saturday afternoon so that will be my best window for maximizing game play.

Ford RS200 '84 is 160,000 credits!

I pre-ordered from Game Stop so I should have the 15th anniversary cars if all else fails.

How was last night?

Insidesimracing posted their first hour and they had to buy a fit. Unless the day 1 patch changes it, we're all buying a fit. The beginning of the game seems to be set up like a tutorial.

I finally watched the rest of that first hour and in the first 5 races which are 2 to 4 minutes each we will be back over the 30 k we started with. They won easily with the fit in those races. If you want to save some cash, the next set of races is 450 max PP. You could use one of the anniversary cars for that. They bought an RX8 and won very easily.

Ok Guys. We have our new Track groups.

Group A

Motegi Super Speedway
Silverstone - Grand Prix Circuit
Spa Francorchamps

Group B
Indy Road Course
Deep Forest Raceway
Willow Springs - Big Willow

Group C
Brands Hatch - Indy Circuit
Trial Mountain
Tsukuba

All we need now is the PP split and the Qualifying track:)

Since it's GT6, the person who finished closest to 6th last night should pick everything :P

In related news, I believe I have fixed my problems with left foot braking from last night. I've switched back to my low chair and have spent about an hour today in GT5 doing some rallying and haven't had any issues so it must have just been driving position :)

I think the 700 PP will bring out some interesting car choices. I see Joe using the Renault R8 Gordini;)

Joe: "Quickly boys! To the 205!"

I think I have the spreadsheet working with the GT6 car list and the new known PP. If you see anything off please let me know.

Also It would be helpful if people would list the prize cars that they win for events. This should help people not waste money on cars we can win. We should be able to figure out pretty quickly if you only win one car per event and whether that car is set or random.

Prize car - Event won
Fit - Starting car
1.
2.
3.
4.

Here is what a guy with an early copy has as a list for prize cars. He doesn't specify what order he won them in though. I'm pretty sure the Clio RS '11 is the first one. After that, I haven't seen an order in which you win them.

here's a list of all the cars I got as prizes so far:
Renault Clio R.S. '11
Gran Turismo Racing Kart Jr.
Mitsubishi Lan Evo VI GSR T.M. SCP '99
Lanica Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione '91
LTM X-BOW Street '12
Acura NSX '91
BMW Concept 1 Series tii '07
Mercedes SL 55 AMG '02
Lotus Elise Race Car '96 (the RM car in GT5)
High End Performance G37
Ferrari 430 Scuderia '07
Challenger R/T '70
R8 LMS ultra (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) '12 --- I got this after golding all the S license tests
RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7
Jaguar XKR-S '11
Diablo GT2 '98
I sorted the garage by "Date acquired" so this gives you an idea about what you get first. Though, keep in mind that I skipped lots of races until I got the S license and then went and beat them again, which is why I mentioned golding all the S license tests got me the Audi.
Also, you need to gold every license test to get the prize car for that particular license, otherwise you get nothing!

Just got a phonecall from EB Games telling me the game is out Friday and that I have it preordered, wasn't that nice of them? :)

Edit; last seasonal for GT5 is 450PP French cars....I can hear Joe celebrating from here
