Sorry that you spent all that time testing camber. If you do some searching you will read that others found the same issue. CAMBER DOES NOT WORK for better lap times or increased grip, but maybe help tire wear in a 24hr race. Ha ha.

Camber can help to REDUCE grip and balance the car for added understeer or oversteer depending on were to use it.

Yeah, I know. I read several threads about it. I figured it wasn't going to give me more front grip but I wanted to know for sure. Also, I wanted to see what would happen if I reduced grip in the rear, whether it would help the car rotate a little better. It did help it rotate, but not at the point of the turn where I needed help.

I had two bad offs tonight but that is not why I left abruptly after the race.
My National Program office inspection team from D.C. is in town looking at my records, procedure, competencies, sterile storage and the list goes on, well everything they are looking at is within my responsibility so I need to be sharp.
Good Night.

Congrats @Whitey093 on the win. Excellent focus to keep your times consistent the entire race. 30 seconds ahead of me with a qualifying time only 1 second quicker (I think) means you managed to shave off an additional 5 seconds over 25 laps, or my minor mistakes cost me that much.

I qualified 5th, finished 5th. Basically showed up and put down the best laps the Rustang had to offer. Scorpion pulled me around the track for a few laps but it was clear I wasn't going to get by him. KG was right on my bumper that first stint. At the first pit stop I was 5 seconds behind Scorp and I took mediums again. I think Scorpion took hards. My pit stop was quick and I pulled out almost right behind him. I managed to pass him digging deep into turn 1 on the pit-out lap and pulled away but could only create a gap of about 3 seconds despite being on better tires. Ended up finishing about 16 seconds behind him. His best time was a 2:00.5 while mine was a 2:01.5 (I got help from the draft). So after 25 laps, being only 16 seconds back ain't bad. Pit stops were fine, maybe one extra lap I could have done without but that would have just saved me at best 2 seconds. I took maybe 5 gallons too much but ended with 1/8 tank which appeared to be on par with others. I wasn't waiting to fill up during the pit stops. So it was a well executed race on my part. I stayed out of the sand, I pretty much hit all my marks.

I just wish the mustang was a bit quicker. Watching others around me it felt slow mid corner, fast on corner exit, but sluggish reaching top speed.

A few quick laps at Spa...I need to just log more laps and figure out how much to lift on various corners. Top speed is going to be an issue, but the GP/F tune down to the transmission felt surprisingly well planted. I'm not sure what to work on besides my lines.

That was crazy race. It seemed like i didnt have the pace to challenge up front so i just relaxed into a rhythm and focused on my marks and somehow it all came together for me at the end. My best lap was a 1.1 i believe but i was able to run mid 1's fairly consistently and stay within a hope and a prayer of the lead.

I must be honest, as much as i like winning, to inherit a win based on a pit issue for the 2nd time this season isnt the way i would like to win but i wont complain about it too much. Pit entry at spa, for me at least, is very difficult. As was evident at nurb it will be important to practice pit in before the race next week to avoid being robbed like poor vegas was.

Good race everyone! It is awesome to see that everyone is getting their cars dialed in for the finale. It will be an awesome end to the best season we have had bop wise in a long time.

That was your win whitey, and a very tough one at that. I made a mistake other than just slowly rolling into the pit that cost me 8 seconds easily. Then I just spaced out the last 2 laps.

No, c
I doubt rolling into the pits was 8 seconds...unless you came to a complete stop.[/QUOTE

I knew someone would read that wrong. I messed up besides my rolling into the pit. Context of my response was to alleviate whitey of why he didnt deserve winning. Why would I just remind him?

Welcome back @Ph1sher !!!! Hope i can make the finale at spa. Wednesday night is the only time my brother can help me do some work on the mustang though so it will be close whether i make it home in time. Cant pass on his help, he has every tool imaginable being a professional mechanic. I got just the basics.

You have to make it if you don't you will lose the championship if Schmed wins.

Hoping to get on tomorrow for some practice. I don't think the Mustang will be a contender but I'll do my best to chase down anyone who makes mistakes.

Been busy on two projects in the garage. Just finished installing a new exhaust on my RX7 and the REPU is getting ITBs and EFI.

The countdown to green is on. Im at work now but have 3:30 at discount tires for some new rubber and am meeting at my brothers garage at 5:30 to get started on the brakes and suspension. The control arms are off the list for now so that shortens the time a bit. For me race time is 8:30 so i will need to be done and on the road home by 7:45 to make qualifying if eveything starts on time. I'll keep the thread updated so you know whether to expect me or not. Hope to see everyone there for the big finale and race for the title on the track instead of watching the thread nervously for results.

Even if tonight goes sour for me, I had fun last night in practice. Some great laps battling KG and Scorpion, and a good session with Basswerks after everyone left. Unless there is a major wreck at Eau Rouge I see myself stuck with another mid-pack finish in the Mustang. I just need to focus on consistent laps as tires wear down and hopefully getting some faster cars to pull me around the track.
