The Mini VGT is fun to drive; nice poppy engine and predictable handling make it a great drive to wrestle around some tight spots in courses. Weird color schemes, though; I wonder why there wasn't a silver with the GT logo combination; instead we get this...rather odd mint green.
Midfield was wonderfully recreated, although my head wants to imagine another interpretation of the course as I drive it. It seems relatively smaller and has less steep banks compared to the older version(s). The S-curve also doesn't have a flat-out racing line visible like there was in GT3 and GT4; I find myself having to come in deeper on the first approach of the curve to get an easy fast outing on the left-curving exit. In any case, it's still fun to drive and is welcomed by me to GT6's already-huge track roster.
Now for B-Spec...
PoDi has, yet again, took a step forward but skipped back a few steps. The enhanced AI control is definitely an improvement; it allows you to precisely control what the B-Spec driver does; you can tell him to accelerate or brake to get an edge on certain sections of tracks, with Spa-Francorchamps coming to mind.
However, you cannot switch from A-Spec to B-Spec and vice-versa. I was looking forward to such a thing being implemented, but I believe 24-minute races don't justify the cause behind doing so. Another thing is you cannot use B-Spec outside of the Career Modes; this goes for Arcade Mode and Free Run. Why you can't do this is beyond puzzling; PoDi had screenshots of the Chaparral 2X being controlled with B-Spec at La Sarthe, which to my knowledge, an event is nonexistent for that car to enter in Career Mode.
With the enhancements of B-Spec, you could observe how the AI handles cars such as the 2X and the Red Bull prototypes at crazy-fast speeds if you're not able to handle it yourself, especially with the new and improved B-Spec control scheme; PoDi needs to make B-Spec accessible for Arcade Mode like it was in GT4.
At the end of all of this, I feel like I'm ranting a little too much, but yet again I played for 30 minutes and turned-off my console again. All of this potential replay value just isn't being tapped...
