They are pretty good............ at least before they lost Damon Stoudamire. Oh well, it's not like anybody has a chance to beat the Pistons at home anyway. :D Let us know how the game goes!

Will do, I'm leaving for upnorth right after the game, but I'll fill you in when I get back. I'm really excitied.

Wade gets 3 blocks!!! :D

What did you guys think of the Indiana/Sacramento trade? Can you say "desperation"? :D Pacer's are kinda like my team in the East, so I was very glad to hear the news. Peja's a great player, and when he started asking for a trade last year, I was hoping he would end up as a Blazer. Now, that's a third player I was hoping the Blazers got, but ended up in Indiana(Fred Jones, Sarunas Jasekvicius and now Peja!). Rick Adelman coaches the Kings, so I hope this gamble will work out for them. That team officially has a cancer now though. Good luck Kings, and Go Pacers! :sly:

Edit:
Whoa! I didn't know about this trade until just now.

BOSTON -- The struggling Minnesota Timberwolves shook up their roster Thursday night, sending swingman Wally Szczerbiak to the Boston Celtics for guard Ricky Davis in an exchange involving seven players and three draft picks.

Davis, center Mark Blount, point guard Marcus Banks, forward Justin Reed and two conditional second-round draft picks are going to Minnesota. Boston is getting Szczerbiak, centers Michael Olowokandi and Dwayne Jones and a future first-round draft pick.
I see it, basically, as Ricky Davis & Mark Blount for Szczerbiak & Olowokandi. Wow, who do you think got a better deal. :D

I say Minnesota did, becuase Davis is really athletic and can actually play a little defense. Blount and Olowokandi are pretty much not factors, IMO.

I think Boston got a better deal, but you are right about Davis, he's a talent. Blount and Olowokandi might not be a huge factor, but big body that doesn't suck too bad in the NBA are hard to find.

Blazers play the Nets tonight. I hope Saleen Man's following that one. Go Blazers! :D

Game was awesome! Pistons scared me a little until the end...now its off for 4 hours in a pickup.

I just checked the score. Looks like it was pretty close 'til the end. Blazers blew their huge lead again, they hung on this time though. :grumpy: Have a safe trip, Blazin!

As everybody's heard by now, Blazin/Joey was involved in an auto accident. He was seriously injured, but sounds like he will be recovering OK. I hope to see his Pistons related posts soon. We miss you already, bud! ;)

Here's the big news in NBA today:
NEW YORK -- New Orleans Hornets forward Chris Andersen was dismissed from the NBA Friday for violating the league's drug policy.

Andersen must wait two years before he can apply for reinstatement, the league said.

According to the league's collective bargaining agreement, a player can only be disqualified for a fourth positive test for performance-enhancing drugs, or a first positive test for "drugs of abuse."
Banned for two years. Ouch! I hope it was worth it, because his two years worth of check should've been worth millions of $$$.

P.S. Blazers and the Warriors play tonight. It's a rare televised game, so I'll be watching it. I hope JFM92_GTRacer will be following that one. :D

Yes! Haha!

 At first, I thought Sam Cassell was worried about his teammate. Actually, he was just trying to get the ball, so he can inbound it. :D

 Admit it a6m5 portland lost huh?
So!? :grumpy: j/k

We did beat New Jersey before Golden State, and Seattle after them, but we got a serious beat down from the Warriors. :(

Gonna go Blazers play the Spurs tomorrow night. 👍

Blazers/Spurs game was amazing! It was up and down with many lead changes, we got our Sebastian Telfair bobblehead dolls(first 2000 fans) and girls were all over the place!

I kept getting crap from my friends for rooting on Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, but I couldn't help it. It was a first time I got to see Ginobili play. :) 👍

P.S. Oh, yeah. Blazers lost(it was close though :D).

he is from LA brazil.:dopey:

LA stands for lages, but it is a joke that we made like our city was los angeles or remotely close.

you see, there are blazer fans suffering all over the world:dopey:

i can´t say anything because my sonics (or should i say las vegas supersonics) are not any better.

in other news, all star starters are in

yao is a starter again:grumpy: 👎
what a mess. with the injuries and the level of play, camby and gasol should be the centers. (i know gasol is not a center, but this way, you can have brand, garnett and nowitzki as fowards)

i wonder if ray allen will get a spot:indiff:

so much of power fowards, where are all the SF´s?

well, there aren´t many. maybe carmelo gets a spot, he´s been hot in 2006...

I didn't see that one coming.

Awesome. Blazers are getting better though. Our record won't show it, but we are taking the best teams to their limits, almost every night. We almost beat Detroit, Dallas, San Antonio, and all we got are bunch of young players in early 20's(some were in high school, just couple of years ago). We just need to be able to close games, and we'll be in business. :)

I'm dissapointed about this as well. I can't blame the Chinese people for voting Yao in, since he is just about the national hero over there. If I was Yao, I would at least decline to play, offer thanks to the fans, then give the spot to a player who actually deserves it.

Edit
Another "beat the trade deadline" trade. Jalen Rose of the Toronto Raptors was traded to the N.Y. Knicks for Forward/Center Antonio Davis. Blazers were interested in Davis as well. I believe his contract is expiring after this season.

wow, no posts in the last 10 days...

i guess the NBA lost its appeal after MJ and company...

radmanovic was traded!!! and we get something in return!!!

i can believe... its only the second good trade you make, stupid wally, so i  to you:sly:

anyway, now we only need to get rid of murray, evans, fortson, potapenko, sund, schultz and wally... maybe we can trade this with the knicks? they are willing to take anything that´s bad, expensive and going nowhere...

all star is almost there... so lets pick the winners:

nash for the skills
shooting competition is dumb, so i don´t really care
allen for the 3 pt
smith again for the dunk... if you can call that a dunk contest
west wins against the east... kobe MVP

i think that´s it

Yeah... Personally, I could watch, talk, play basketball all day, but I haven't seen Giancarlo or Saleen Man in here for a while. :(

Isn't that like the whole organization? :D I guess you are keeping Ray Allen.....

Oh, man. I haven't been interested in All-Star, like since the early 90's. As soon as I learned about the League's bias and politics in stuff like that, I lost interest. :grumpy:

i have a question for all rooting for crappy teams...

would you like your team to boot the season? i mean, just lose every game to get a good draft pick... like the spurs whem they got duncan...

i hate mediocre teams, so i wouldn´t mind my sonics pacxking the season to get a lamarcus aldridge or somedoby else...

what about you, blazers and raptors fans?

Blazers claimed that they were playing the young guys last season, which in other words, they were losing on purpose. I do mind it little bit, because the Blazers, while not winning a championship since '77, was one of the elite teams for very long time. We made playoffs for 21 years in a row, so I'm not used to my team losing on purpose at all. :indiff:

looks like the sonics... if i´m not mistaken, the sonics had the best winning percentage during the 90´s... regular season that is... if it was not the best i´m sure it was top 3...

i have to confess i´m less of a fan right now than what i was back in the hey days of kemp and payton... its just now i´m older and i know they are going nowhere... just so frustrating... not even losing they can´t do it right... if you are going to quit, than just win 20 games and make sure you get a top draft pick... not one of those 35-40 win season that gets you nothing...

just play swift and petro 30 minutes a game, and let ridnour and allen be our top defenders... i´m sure the result is a loss...

They did finish 1st, at least in the West. You know how I remembered? The 8th seed Denver Nuggets upset them in the 1st round of the playoffs that year! :D

I hear you, but a lot of times, that "loser" mentality will stay with a team for very long time. So many teams tries to throw couple of seasons in attempt to rebuild, then they are never able to come out of the pits. Often taking decade or two, easily. I do respect you for still being a Sonic fan though. There is nothing more annoying than those "fair weather fans". :D

It looks like the Heat are finally getting their sh** together.
I don't mean to upset you, because I know you're Heat fan. But I don't think Shaq is that big of a factor anymore. I caught them playing against Detroit few days ago. Only way he could contribute on the offensive end was (offensively) fouling the heck out of the defenders. And this is what I hate about NBA...... I don't think they called one offensive foul on Shaq. It was just disgusting to watch. Sometimes, NBA officiating reach the level of Professional Wrestling. Wade is a different story. He is just amazing. 👍

Yeah i can see what you mean, but that's also not very fair, because [i imagine] you're comparing him now to him in his prime. Although he may have lost some of the strength from his golden years he is still an amazing force to be reckoned with when he gets his mind set. And about the fouls, you need to understand that it's hard to tell when Shaq fouls or doesn't because of how big he is and how his defenders react to what he does on the block.

they finished first twice, ans they had 3 of those 60plus win seasons...

oh, the good times...

but i still hate robert pack and dikembe mutombo for that:mad: 🤬

the bad for me is that i started to watch NBA in april or may of 96... first game i saw on a videotape was seattle and houston, scherempf scoring 35 points and the sonics trashing the world champs for a 3-0 lead in the series...

before anyone ask, i was a sonic fan before of that, i played NBA live all day, and my favorite team was the sonics... it was a pleasure too see that shawn kemp was as nasty in real life as he was in NBA live:D

but now, they might pack their things and live, few people care and i don´t blame them.

the future is bright for the blazers, you guys have allen

paul allen $$$ probably the sonics will only get a new life when they start calling themselves Las Vegas Supersonics...:yuck:
