2010 Formula One Canada Grand Prix

I knew he had it in him, he screwed up a little on his 2nd to last lap, then on the final lap he was up in s1 by a tenth, i said then, he had it won.

Super Softs or not, the track was rubberring in, so it was time to put down that pace. The race will play out to hammy's hand if he can pull away from the reds with his super softs on. I figure he'll do some fast laps and bring the pace to a constant then pit super fast and go the rest of the way with the mediums. I think he can pull a win out of his sleeve

He'll hold the red bulls off... for a lap or two until he has to pit, or crashes with a blown tire.

But great lap! You can see how he loves the track by his confidence and minimum safety margins.

That's certainly something Webber was using in his best lap at the last turn, minimum safety margins:sly:

hey what better way to support the greatest racing car driver that's ever come out of Australia than to create an account using his name:tup: Vettel was again in Mark's shadow come Q3.

Quite an exciting qualy session today :) It was also great watching Hamilton take it to the two Red Bulls to snag pole in the remaining seconds of Q3 👍

The team mate wars are becoming very interesting as well.

I think we're beggining to see Hamilton assert his dominance over Button as the season progresses, and unfortunately for Button I think this will be a fairly consistent trend for the remainder of this season. I wouldn't be suprised if by the end of the season Hamilton has a 30% or greater points lead on Button.

Schumacher must be quite down in the dumps after such a a lack luster performance in qualy. Undoubhtedly there is going to be a lot pressure on him to perform to his team mates level from here on out, as performances like today's only tarnish his legacy, and most likely the length of his return to F1 :ill:

Then we have Massa who at this point must be feeling pretty helpless as he continues to get bullied around by Alonso. When you have a teammate who dominates you that consistantly, the WDC becomes a very vague image.

Anyway, I can't wait for tommorow's drama to unfold

Good job by Hamilton and the Mclaren team on taking pole :D

Hoping for another Mclaren 1-2. As for Vettel and Webber, hopefully they will have pit problems or something...

...

For some reason, I had a dream last night that Alan Shearer won the race, with Kimi Raikkonen following in second  Wow.

And in this dream of mine, Robert Kubica took the final podium spot.

Ha! Called it!

But the stewards realized they can't penalize him since there's no rule in place against running out of gas after qualifying.

If he'd done that run earlier in the session and blocked traffic by shutting down, I suppose they would have gone ahead and penalized him.

Yet I think the rule has to be changed, anyway, after this.

If the track gets washed again, Lewis will get more out the softs.
Also, if he only does 5-8 laps on the softs, then pits a safety car and he's back in the hunt when the rest pit.
The call could go in either teams favour.
Though RB are still a good chance as long as the degradation of the softs is high and the weather is dry.

@Fastas.... Does anyone really care what Alan Jones says. :sly:

Hamilton with a blistering lap to claim pole, but he will start on the inferior soft tire, in my eyes, Webber on the hard tire is on pole;)
Nope, I think you'll find that Hamilton is still on pole, irrespective of whose eyes are looking. Webber might have the best strategy to win the race, but Hamilton is on pole.

Superb qualifying session. I'm expecting a superb race and I think Lewis is fired up for it.

Also, first corner mash up resulting in a Force India podium?

The one race that's on at a decent time here and I have to work all day.:grumpy:

I need a regular job just so I can watch all the races.

I pray that at least one of the backmarker teams scores! In a race like this it could happen, but it is unlikely.

Dear lord, if Liuzzi won I wouldn't know what to think. :dunce::scared:

Yes, I know...I just liked the facial expression.

But, isn't Alan Jones the best driver to come from Aus?

No:

Jones was good but not brilliant. He wasn't the best driver of his era. Brabham was one of the best.

Lotus have a chance to score this weekend.. Hopefully.

And the race looks like it's going to stay dry.

Yup, 2-8 tenths away from the Saubers....I will be watching the battle there as intently as I do the front. Lotus usually have better race pace too.

HRT are doing ok too, should be a good fight between them and Virgin.

I've said it before and I shall say it again.

HRT have jumped Virgin.

Yes and no. In reliability, yes. In speed I'm not so sure. Glock is still outqualifying them and outpacing them. I don't see Di Grassi as a very good measuring stick, the fact he is being outdone by Senna says more about how bad Di Grassi is rather than how good Senna/HRT are though it is still commendable.

They are very close though. I wouldn't say its one clearly in front of the other yet.

Webber down 5 places for a Gearbox penalty

Well thats lame, potentially ruins some fun from him and Vettel, but there is still a chance. I was rather looking forward to the 1st corner with that pair side by side!

Whew... lots of banging, but no permanent retirements... yet...

Check out the Button-train...
