2011 Chinese Grand Prix

So when Schumacher wins non stop in his ferrari it is like he has real skill, but when Vettel does the same thing it is lame?

And we don't know how Vettle or anyone else will drive in the wet for that matter.

Considering Schumi had his Benetton years and built Ferrari up from scratch, yes.

Why are Vettel fans so sensitive?

Just because some don't want to see him run off into the distant and turn the race into a procession from turn 1, doesn't mean they "hate" or are "hating" on him.

On another note - Vettel still has a helluva long way to go to reach the greatness of Senna or Schumacher in terms of not only success, but brillant performances in inferior machinery throughout many years (like Alonso almost pulled off last year). Lets be honest, Vettel's had a pretty dominating car in the past two years and should have been the man who won the WDC to begin with..lets reminds ourselves that his teammate is Mark Webber, not a Lewis Hamilton or Fernando Alonso. No doubt he has a ton of potential...but IMO the car is helping to give him far too much credit/hype at the moment.

Anyway, bring on the race! :)

Because if it was Lewis or Fernando, people would be lauding their performance. When it's Sebastian, there are too many snidey comments about how it's all in the car, regardless of Webber's form.

May I ask how you know this? And btw, since when was the last time Lewis or Fernando were in such a consistently/dominating car? Oh wait that's right...

If you look at the reaction on GTP to the bahrain gp 2010, people were acting as if Alonso won that race all on his own... I can even remember someone saying "brave drive alonso"... So brave when you don't have enough speed to win on your own. You have to wait on the guy in front getting a problem.

As for Lewis, he's been given a great car for the majority of his F1 career. Obviously, the first half of 2009 being the exception. Mclaren massively developed the car that was hanging around at the back of the pack enough to allow Lewis to have a few good races, but people still acted like he was driving the same bad car. He didn't win 2 races in that same bad car. He won in a hugely upgraded car.

You only have to watch the race threads on gtp to see how ridiculously biased some people are. Remember Monza 2008. Vettel won in a bad car. Neither Alonso or Hamilton have done this. Vettel's speed is extraordinary.

I don't see where you're coming from. He admittedly has a faster car, but it takes a brilliant driver to pull off consistent near perfect laps in almost every race and qualifying. The Torro Rosso could be called an inferior piece of machinery, and Vettel had a win in it. Last year, Alonso did not have an inferior car, he had two pole position starts. It doesn't matter how good his racecraft or skills are, he's not going to get pole in a slow car. It's not that Vettel fans are over sensitive, it's just that you guys pass off his talent as just the car being fast. Alonso or whatever can have the fastest car in the world, but would we really see constant fastest laps every lap?

👍

Just watched a replay a couple hours ago to get pumped up for tonight/morning

Who would have thought  This is F1 - it's nothing new that there are a lot of followers/fans who are biased, overly fanatical delusional, revengeful, or overly full of hatred. Every driver has them...some more than others.

What do you guys want...you act like everyone is supposed worship the ground that Vettel walks on, otherwise you are going to moan and complain about the lack of respect. We know Vettel is great and has a TON of potential (ok?), but he still has a lot to prove to be considered among the likes of a Senna or Schumacher (or even Hamilton or Alonso IMO). Maybe once he is paired up with a top F1 driver and shows what he's made of, then he will gain my full respect.

Well can you imagine how annoying it is seeing your favourite driver being put down time and time again? We'll see how many of you end up eating your words in the end...

Edit: Are you trying to justify the overly negative attitude towards Vettel as simple gut feelings? Or are you debating his actual level of talent?

Seems there's a problem with Lewis' car. Some last minute work going on now.

Edit2: It's a problem with his engine. The airbox is coming off. They have another 5 minutes before the pitlane closes to get him out.

Hungary 2008- Hamilton won in a dog of a car.
Alonso put his piece of metal on pole.

Singapore 2008- May of cheated but Alonso still won the race.

Monza 2008- Vettel won from pole. And the car was so bad his teammate who got less then his rookie teammate the next year was able to qualify 4th. Terrible car.

Yes major leak on the Car 3... Lewis's car.... oh boy... --- Randy

You mean 2009. If you think that that car was still a dog, then there isn't much hope for you. It was a dog when Lewis was stuck in the back of the grid. He only won due to the upgrades to the car.

May of??? So many people say "He could of won"... He could have won... This annoys me.

He and Sebastien Bourdais qualified before the rain got heavier. This allowed Vettel to control the race. The fact is, he took the Toro Rosso, outsmarted the others, stuck it on Pole and won the race.

Neither Hamilton or Alonso have done such a feat at such a disadvantage.

Make it out by seconds 👍

Edit: F1 Fan. Dont get your knickers in a twist - you are criticising others for putting Vettel down, but you're doing exactly the same to other drivers.

Overly negative? Please explain.

Well, some people are so keen to say "it's all the car". What's your opinion on Mark Webber's level of talent... When Webber win's, people don't say "it's all in the car" yet Mark Webber has been Beaten by Vettel across 2 seasons as teammates. Even last year with the lack of reliability. And currently, he's doing the same this season.

No, actually I'm stating the facts. If someone can tell me when Lewis or Fernando have taken a bad car, put it on pole position and won a race, then I'll shutup...

I've already answered to Hungary 2009... I'm just defending against the Vettel haters, who are so uneducated, that they suggest Hamilton won with the same dog of a car that he was running at the back of the field in...

Ok, whatever. Vettel is the greatest driver since Fangio. He could ride a horse around Shanghai, starting in the grandstand and still win, in the rain, with hands tied to his shoes.

Now, back to today's race...

^ Now that's an 🤬 move.

Lewis must be stressed. He's just been sitting in the car for while now. I think he wishes he could step out on the grid for just a second.

Have you forgot the point of a forum??? Are people allowed to mindlessly bash Vettel, but I'm not allowed to respond? I realise, this has gone off topic, but if you look through this entire thread, you'll find i'm far from the first. Please tell me mr super moderator. [/sarcasm]

The point of a forum is to debate with an open mind - the end.

Now if you want to create another thread on this, you are welcome to, but this thread is about this GP - so from here on, we keep it on topic 👍

He wasn't stuck in the back of the grid. Heikki was. When Hamilton won that race he still had an inferior car. Also nicely avoided Alonso's pole. ;)

Yeah but it may of got past you that he did win.💡

While Vettel was night and day faster then Bourdais, the car was the best ever Toro Rosso and was possible to get podiums in.

Neither Hamilton or Alonso have done such a feat at such a disadvantage.

What about Hamilton's comeback through the field in Monza 2008? Or finishing 3rd in Australia 2009?

If you want to see real driving skill see Silverstone 2008 where Hamilton won by over a minute in the wet conditions. Much better then Vettel's win.

Fair enough. Perhaps I was slightly aggressive, but I'm a Vettel fan, so I'm always going to support him. And if you look through the gp threads, you'll see so many people put him down. If it's within the rules for them to do so, it's within the rules for me to answer them.

Go BUTTON!!!!!

Massive jump by both Maccas into 1-2... Vettel has to ride the line very tight to keep Rosberg from pushing him back into 4th, too.

Petrov loses to Kobayashi at the end of L1...
