Indeed. Another car that rides the bumps well is the Sauber. The worst I think is McLaren. From some slow motion footage, it can be seen that the McLaren car bumps a lot especially under braking.

Button, terrible, yes. Massa had a coulpe of those too, he braked like "on top" of one and then locked all up.

Hamilton: "surprised to be on front row". So was I (pleasently), expected Alonso to go at least 13.9

Well the race will be boring, let's just hope for the midfielders to have at it. Podium is so predictable tomorrow.

Really don't know why Canada is always tape delayed on SPEED/FOX. Would think of all races, that would be the live one.

Vettel doesn't seem as annoying this year, as the previous one. Maybe he is appreciating the closer racing now and is savouring the results instead. Maybe because he is making the difference, rather than having the best car by a country mile.

I can't imagine anything other than Vettel having a huge lead at the end of lap 1, Grosjean and Hamilton said something along the lines of "the tyres performed better in the heat which is why we weren't as fast as we expected" so I'm hoping for a hot Sunday. :)

He still has that smug look about him but at least he isn't miserable all the time.

That's strange because I thought the reason that Red Bull were suddenly faster was because it was a lot hotter today than yesterday where Lewis was fastest. It was in the heat of Bahrain that got them their first win of the year.

Owkey, according to Schumacher's interview, he said that he ran out of time for the last qualifying lap, that's why he abandoned the lap and not because of him getting blocked.

EDIT: It seems like tomorrow is all sunny with absolutely no rain threat at all. I think this could be a Red Bull race but watch out for the Lotus too because their cars also work very well in hot condition. Expect something about similar to Bahrain.

Bad news for Merceded it seems. Having a car that suits this circuit very well, but tyre management isn't going to help them tomorrow.

I wonder what hole they're looking at?

Yes indeed, Lotus may be a surprise tomorrow.

I don't think so. I'd say Grosjean could get on the podium but i don't see a win very likely.
Lotus seem to have dropped off a bit recently and Montreal is track that suits other teams more imo

Button saying he shouldn't have bothered getting back on track and using up that set of tires. My sentiments exactly. If he was going with yellows, why wasted valuable laps for his 1st stint strategy?

I too would like Grosjean to succeed but don't see it as likely here.

Oh, and di Resta, he was pretty good this far, even managed a controlled spin / drift for the cameras.

It isn't. Canada is always shown live on Fox, since the race is on the East Coast. The other three races Fox broadcasts, however, are tape delayed until noon eastern time.

Is Canada starting later than usual? I thought previous years it started two hours earlier than this year's start time.

I think Alonso has the chance of a win here but it would be good if Hamilton won for historical value.

It looks like Redbull, Ferrari and Mclaren will run out the rest of the season now.

I wouldn't write off Mercedes and Lotus just yet. They've done fairly well thus far this season and it's still early. Besides, one of the three you mentioned is McLaren, who screw up almost everything they do lately. They'll send their cars onto the starting grid with the front wing on the rear and rear wing on the nose, and send them out with bare rims (no tires).

I think Alonso has the chance of a win here but it would be good if Hamilton won for historical value.

It would be good for Lewis to win because he's overdue for it. He's worked his butt off thus far this season, only for his team to sabotage him at every turn. He typically sits at the top in the various practice rounds and has taken some poles, so his driving is there, but the team isn't, and that just isn't fair to him.

"But, everybody makes mistakes, including the other teams." Yeah, but how many of the Ferrari, Red Bull, Lotus, or Mercedes drivers have had a half dozen botched pit stops just in 2012 and just for that one driver? One single McLaren driver has suffered enough screwups for Alonso, Vettel, Webber, Button, Raikkonen, and Schumacher altogether.

Vettel is pretty strong starting from 1st so he is the favorite to win, though the statistics are against him. He might be a bit under pressure on the start and straight. The DRS made for easy sailing last year.

I don't know Hamilton knows how to get great starts. I think that he has a tough fight with Hamilton, and let's not forget the guy in red that is quite strong and may help Vettel find third more quickly than Vettel would want.

I'm liking Alonso for the win here. Alonso is leading the championship, Ferrari are on top of the F2012's issues, and Alonso is the kind of driver who can follow through on that kind of momentum. What's more, Vettel says he feels "vindicated" by pole position, and I think that's the wrong attitude. It's like he's gone into the weekend looking to prove that Red Bull's success to date is not a direct result of parts that have been ruled illegal. It's like he's saying "Ha! We were right! Suck it!", which to me suggests that he's got a lot more to lose than anyone else.

True, Alonso does have demon starts.

But a question that I've been wondering about. Do you think that the rest of the year will be a close battle between the top 3 with Lotus and Mercedes joining in from time to time? Or will the unpredictability continue.

It seems to me like things are starting to settle down with with as you mentioned, Lotus and Mercedes joining. However, comes the race things can still be different so we need a couple more races to see if we actually have a consistent grid.
