yeh Massa deserves an award for Teamship, someone mentioned how he manouvered Webber for Alonso to pass them both, was a great move.

Yeah I agree, how he has given himself up this season for the good of the team is nothing short of dedication to the team. I'm not sure I could have done it.

Feel sorry for Alonso. This is the 3rd time (if I'm not mistaking) that he lost the championship by less than 3 points. If he had a bit more luck he would by 5 time champion by now.

Yeep, the driver had done enough, it was the car that 🤬 it up and not much of luck for him apart from Massa playing the second fiddle which is not enough.

Ok,so you are stupid mate so please don't quote me and ignor my post because you are a little kid that doesn't understand what is the sarcasm!
I will not quote you and please dont quote me stupid kid!

Wow. Personal insults, nice.

How did I ignore you?

If I am directly replying to your posts, then yes I will quote you. The fact that you can't handle ANY kind of criticism to either you or your beloved Vettel, just goes to show how immature and self righteous you really are. If you can't take it, then cease to post your options. Then nobody can post reply's calling you out on them.

Also on the stupid thing. I understand that English is not your 1st language, and I will give you leeway on it, but calling me stupid is not acceptable in my book. You know nothing about me, so please. Stop with the personal insults, they only further exemplify the fact that you are an immature person, who isn't well rounded enough to accept anyone else opinion as just that.

There is a reason I don't post replies to people like you, because this is how it ends up.

EDIT: I don't know if it was you or a mod that edited your post, but it was a good move.

It's understandable? How the hell do you think that.
Because, whatever they did, they probably would've intereffered with the battle for the WDC even more, if you're asking me. Starting an investigation wouldn't have been very beneficial in that case.

I'm really getting tired of hearing and seeing the word luck being used in F1 discussions. Yes good and bad luck plays a part but the way people are going on it's the only thing that decides races and titles. It's not. On the BBC discussions I saw someone claim Vettel's titles are all down to luck.

Oh and then you have the people who don't seem to understand this is a team sport, claiming that this is Adrian Neweys title. F1 has always been about the car, always will be. Nobody won a title in a truly inferior car, nobody ever will. The Ferrari this year might not have been the best at any stage but it certainly wasn't completely inferior.

Did Schumacher, Senna, Prost, Fangio, Piquet win their titles in anything but a great car?

My votes for this year:

1-Vettel:9/10,for me he did well but should do better with that car.he made some mistake but he is a 25 years old,he well get better!
2-Alonso:8.5/10 great year for him specially in the first parte of the year but in the last 3-4races he lost some steps!
3-Hamilton:9/10,he was great this year and for me he was the best driver this year but bad luck, bad box decisions put him out from the title.
4-Bottun:7.5/10,not bad but he wasn't costant and he had 5-6 races where he had completely disappeared
5-Webber:6.5/10,I like Webber,he is such a nice guy and good driver but he made a lot of stupid mistakes this year.
6-Massa:7/10,very bad first parte of the season and very strong second parte.I'm happy to see him driving well again.

Oh boy, why does the internet have this effect on people? :indiff:

Anyway, just a couple of personal notes, I'm sure they won't make an impression in this heated thread but anyway, just voicing one's opinion.

1 - The obvious from a F1 fan point of view - 2012 is done and dusted, congrats to Vettel for getting it, besides a great car he had the skill and the luck. Both were needed but aren't they always? Roll on 2013! 👍

2 - My personal ratings:
Team of the year - Red Bull
Driver of the year - Fernando Alonso
Car of the year - McLaren

3 - I'm happy for -

- Massa - for a great comeback, I just wish he carries this form on to the opening stages of 2013;
- Perez - to get a deserved seat in a top team, in what is the most important driver change for 2013. He was subpar lately but I guess his mind and heart was already focused in next year's WDC.
- Maldonado - He grew up during the season. If he kept his speed in the process, a brilliant future could lie ahead.

4 - I'm sad for -

- Schumacher - Never been a fan, Adelaide '94, Jerez '97 and La Rascasse '06 were all time lows that will forever weight more (for me) than the 7 WDCs he got in his first career. However, his second career, after a few "old-Schumi" moves up to Hungary 2010, was very decent pace-wise and his attitude, when faced with driving a medium-to-bad car and bad-to-horrible luck, dignified him a lot. Not sure if he gained much with this return, but he sure gained some respect from me, respect I didn't have before. Farewell. I will remember you putting the Mercedes on the Monaco pole position.

- Senna - I do like Bruno Senna, and I really wanted him to do good this year. I suppose not taking part in FP1 for most GPs took a few tenths or undreths from his qualifying pace, with all the consequences this had in such a tight year in the midfield. However, there's no denying, Maldonado beat him fair and square in raw speed. Consistency is important, but you can gain it, while speed ... not so much. If indeed he leaves F1, I hope he follows a career in sports cars.

- Kamui Kobayashi - Some inconsistency and lack of sponsorship probably mean this was the last year of KK in F1. A pity, because he was a breath of fresh air in pre-DRS Formula 1. He is very fast, but so was (or even more was) Perez. And Sauber needs money.

And I'll stop here. :)

Interfering?.. or, how about doing their job with some consistency?

(Stating the obvious, i know): It could have been beneficial to Alonso's WDC challenge... who knows?

I find it funny Ferrari nor Williams have kicked up any fuss about that incident not being investigated yet the internet is still raging.

Do you not find it remotely "strange" that Hulkenburg was given a penalty instantly and there was no word whatsoever about the Vettel/Senna incident even being investigated? Or are you just not the impartial person that you claim to be...

Oh boy, why does the internet have this effect on people? :indiff:

It's not the Internet that has made me react like this. It's people thinking its okay to throw personal insults around. If someone was to do that to me IRL, they would be met with a far greater response, but as this is text only the only thing I could do is post a reply, whilst trying to maintain within the AUP.

@wajdi

Where is Räikkönen? Id give Vettel maybe 8, 9 for Alonso and 9 or maybe even 9.5 for Räikkönen.

Man,I love Raikkonen but for now I gave votes for the 3 big teams ,Ferrari,Mclaren and RedBull and later I will give my votes for the others driver.:)

yeh Massa deserves an award for Teamship, someone mentioned how he manouvered Webber for Alonso to pass them both, was a great move.

Massa was the best driver on Interlagos and at the states but no one at Ferrari will acknowledge that not even Alonso, even less so most viewers. Best "teamplay" I've seen in F1 in years.

If Alonso had won the title (which he lost due to a team decision) Massa deserved a lifelong contract.

Whatever I think is irrelevant, it's done. Gone. Settled. I don't see the need to waste time and energy on the internet debating it when the people actually involved aren't bothered. I've got more important things to do with my time, like procrastinate on other areas of the board. :P

But seriously as far as I'm concerned either driver would have deserved it, Vettel got it, I'm now looking forward to 2013.

Indeed. Under normal, non-team orders/help Alonso mode Massa would have comfortably beaten Alonso at those two races. I would have made the bet on him to win the race if I didn't get the feeling he'd not have the chance to win.

Sounds about right to me, I'd probably give roughly the same scores, except I would swap round the scores of Vettel and Alonso (just my opinion). Other than that though I pretty much agree with your evaluation.

Also, I have to agree with everyone about Massa, He's really shown some great teamwork and driving skill recently! Gained a load of respect back from me!

You state this as if it is some well known fact lol

Regardless, Massa has proven to be a real team player and honorable guy  Now I just hope he can fight for the WDC next year alongside Alonso.

I don't deny Vettel deserved it but the stewards decisions were incredibly inconsistent, I don't think there was even any investigation for the Webber/Kobayashi incident.

Yeah, interfering. There was no advantage to strip off of Vettell (who seemingly didn't do anything wrong on purpose, anyways) and handing out penalties to anyone else wouldn't have mattered at all. Also, I have to agree with SimonK: If there was the slightest reason to be asking for an investigation by the stewards, I'd bet that Ferrari would've done that already.

What sort of action could an investigation possibly have yielded that wouldn't have put Vettel at an unecessary disadvantage? Although, reading your second paragraph... Is that what this is all about, or is it really about the stewards not doing their job?
I find it funny Ferrari nor Williams have kicked up any fuss about that incident not being investigated yet the internet is still raging.
Because it seemingly was easier for them to let go of a WDC for Alonso than it is for others. My take on it, at least.

I think what's more amazing about the above picture is that Jenson managed to get into the podium driving the Honda.

That was '06, though. And Jenson was on fire late that season.

Then the Earth Car happened. And he managed like a 5th at Shanghai at best. Then they just got one Rubens 3rd at Britain...then Brawn happened. The sport's ultimate one-hit wonder.

But, but... this is a forum, isn't debate and discussion kind of the whole point?!

And I have to agree with SilverArrow, it was indeed strange, the stewards have been incredibly inconsistent this year.

What do think about Webber maneuver with Vettel in the first corner?
For me it was a bad and risky maneuver because he shouldn't close the door on his team mate like that!

I'm just pointing out, that maybe the stewards weren't doing their job consistently...

(The bolded part): Maybe not, but i feel there still should have been an investigation, to do so would've shown consistency regardless of the result.
