By the time Vettel is done he will have broken every record held by every driver and every team JGreen holds dear. Right behind him will come others that will break his records. It's inevitable.

I see Vettel winning just this season in all honesty. Don't know why but I feel his momentum has to stop someday.

Welcome to my ignore list JGreens, you share it with an Alaskan who has an obsessive hatred of ponies.

You can do anything you want, but I honestly don't see the need for adding someone to your ignore list simply because they share a very different opinion that might be a bit ignorant.

And I prepare for that day with more and more spirits stocked ready! 👍

on topic:
Massa drive of the day for me. Provided more entertainment than any other driver.

edit:
Look through that thread. No you didn't.
On that thread, no. This thread, yes I did.

I would say irrational just on the base of how it started and how he went about it(ironically giving something he hates more of his energy and attention), but that's just me.

Are you implying that the Monza race wasn't mostly brilliant wet race strategy by Torro Rosso? Bourdais qualified 4th, if you can believe that, and he wasn't really considered anything special.

If I recall, Bourdais didn't have the pace that was considered anything special either, this race or other races ( I believe China being another notable one, also in the went).

Oh it will, someday. It'll likely decline if/when the current team structure changes. Or when he gets old. Does either look likely to happen in the near future? He trusts his team, his car and has the skill to take advantage of both. He's far from done.

It's simple, we're tired of reading his utter nonsense. If I met him in person I'd just ignore him so I'm doing the same on here. There is only so much you can argue with stupid. Just ask Andrew Neil.

Did we, the rest of the world, ever receive an apology from the Canadians for that little monstrosity?

While we Canadians are master apologists, I absolutely and emphatically refuse to apologize for that abomination! I will not be held personally responsible!

On topic: At this point you just can't write Vettel off as talentless. Sure, I would love to see what would happen if he was driving a Lotus... or maybe a Bieber. But until that happens, he's the Goliath deservedly. It's just not as exciting when he's pushing 20 seconds in front.

That's irrelevant. The contradictions I posted still stand.

An apologist is someone who provides a defense, may want to change that. ;)

I believe Nico would also like a word with his strategist who wanted him to run such a long stint...

Debating "the best" in any sport is a fools game. All it does is get everyone's panties in a wad. It's more prudent to talk about who is part of the "elite" group in a sport (top 10, 20, 50 ...)

The car may be a huge factor, but one can't really deny there's some skill behind the car too when one compares Webber and Vettel who are in similar cars
Webber is kind of old. He had the chance to win the championship in 2010 but made some mistakes in the end. A decent driver not a top driver for sure.

If Vettel want to prove to be the best driver he need to move in another team. Try to win the championship with Ferrari, McLaren and than we can talk.

Surely I wouldn't want to see Alonso with a RedBull, championship would be even more boring.

It's funny people think Vettel or any driver needs to prove anything to appease fans. Especially when you can guarantee even if he did go elsewhere and do well it'd be "Well the car is better now", guaranteed.

Yep, and that's pretty easy for me from the current crop, in no particular order.

Alonso
Vettel
Raikkonen
Hamilton

I don't see what the big deal is with the booing. It's likely a bunch of French Canadiens being silly and passionate, what else is new?

A bit boring by Montreal standards, but a good race nonetheless. Was fun to see the two Finns side-by-side. Great drive from Alonso, was hoping Hamilton have been able to fight back more though.

Would you like to be booed for no logical reason after you've just put all that effort into winning the race?

Mind you I suppose the millions he's paid ease the pain :sly:

Alonso hasn't won the championship with anything other than a Renault. He's come close, but it's not as if it's logical to assume Vettel would suddenly drop off the map at another top team.

Well I'd think someone would have to be pretty naive if they're expecting nothing but positive feedback every time they win.

You're bound to get a few haters when you become known for dominating races without challenge. You only need to look back to the Schumacher years to see that. It comes with the profession I think.

Not that it makes the booers any less moronic, but still.

It was hilarious when Hamilton said "Just let me drive, man". You tell 'em!

I'm still all for banning team radio in the direction of pit to car except for emergency. So many races these days are being driven by the engineers, not the drivers.

Apparently a marshall clearing up the Guttierez incident tripped while running alongside the forklift and was "run over"...

It's not as if Alonso's 2005 Renault was lightyears ahead of any other car on the grid.

Oh wait, it was!

Vettel has nothing to prove anymore, get over it.
