Alright guys, I'm really pouring over this potential USCR schedule and it's a tough nut to crack. There's a lot of good tracks to pick from, and knowing that half the list is guaranteed only makes it more difficult.
Let's break down the potential schedule, I wanna hear your guesses and what you'd like to see! Here's what I think is the likelihood of tracks being featured on the calendar.
110%
Daytona
Sebring
Watkins Glen
Road Atlanta
Reasoning: It's simple, when you own a house, you use the house. These represent some of the most storied tracks in the US as well, and they will undoubtedly all be in the NAEC.
99.99%
Circuit of the America's
Mid-Ohio
Road America
Indianapolis
Laguna Seca
All but completely confirmed. These tracks have either served both series, have good fan bases, or (like above) represent the cream of the crop in US racing tracks. On top of that, they'll be able to easily service the undoubtedly massive field of cars that the USCR will be bringing.
Let's see how we can fill the last three spots... if we can.
70%
Barber*
Lime Rock
Mosport*
Kansas*
Long Beach
Belle Isle
These represent tracks that have either had history with both series, have been linked to manufacturers, or are relatively new to the schedules and are expecting a racing series to visit their track. The street courses are incredibly difficult, because they usually have a lot of money behind them to pack as much action onto the track to justify fencing off city streets like they do, however they may not be able to fit the whole USCR series... and as much as you all may dislike street course racing, Long Beach has an incredible history in the US as a venue, even if it has mostly been associated with open wheel racing.
Still, I see IMSA having a tough time trying to narrow down their schedule, and I'll bet that these are the tracks that are causing them the most headaches. There is a likely chance that Belle Isle, Long Beach and Lime Rock could see pure Prototype or GT fields, since they're smaller and this was hinted at by IMSA.

50% and under
Baltimore
VIR
Any other track that the series has previously visited but isn't currently on the schedule.
Baltimore seems to be the most consistently weak link out of both of the series current schedules. It's the one that's there just because they had the money and needed something to fill the space. I believe that Baltimore is one of the first tracks on the chopping block though, since it doesn't have the prominance of Long Beach, nor the big-name and manufacturer backing of Belle Isle.
As for VIR, it's a great track that I'd love to see on the schedule, but I believe that a USCR event might not be viable enough to pursue racing there for now.
