I wish Petit wasn't coming back to the first weekend in October. That's my dad's birthday weekend. The later ALMS schedule works great for me. Plus those two or three weeks can make a night and day difference in weather.

I wish the Indy race was separated from the Brickyard 400. It's the closest track to me, but being a full NASCAR weekend makes it a nightmare to try and make it an overnight trip.

Aside from personal scheduling issues, this works for me. My favorites are in. I'm sure we will see additions and date shuffling over time.

 Of course!

My prediction; Canada will probably be the hottest event.

July in Toronto is brutal.

It's not the same humid muggy heat that's in the southeast. You have to be in it to know how bad it is. 94 in the shade is cool in Alabama. It's still upper 80s now every day. I am glad there are 2 west coast races as well as a Canada race to get uscc into more markets which can't hurt the sport :)

94 in the shade is cool in Ontario, too.

July in Toronto, again, is absurd.

Proof.

I will give Imsa credit for making a schedule that does a good job of keeping the best tracks (except mid-o and barber :grumpy: ) and leaving out the crappy ones like Kansas and Baltimore

That's a great schedule, not much different than this years ALMS and Grand-Am schedules with the exception of Mosport being a week earlier.

I'm a bit bummed that Lime Rock is off the schedule, especially as it was only a 2 hour drive. But I rather expected it to be. So it's going to be the Glenn or Mosport for 2014.

You going to CTMP next year?

I'd hope so, not sure yet. I might even rent a seat in Canadian Touring Car that weekend if they bring them back as a support series, depending on how Skip Barber goes :P

Lol "Wahhhh, Lime Rock was only 2 hours away!"
My closest race is still 4.5 hours away (MRLS). You can put money on me still going. Just suck it up and go see a race!

Barber was 2.5 hours from me. It got taken away. I hate Imsa now regardless of the fact I drive 6.5 to see the Rolex 24, and I'm going to plm this year and the coming years or at least I'm planning on it

I do see why they don't want barber, road Atlanta, and VIR all within a few hundred miles taking up 3 spaces on the calendar

 Isn't that essentially what I said?

EDIT: None-the-less, I'm still sad to see Lime Rock go for a number of reasons. Over the years, I've been to Long Beach, Petit Le Mans, Sebring & Mosport. I'd be sad to see any of them go. But it's always hard when it's your 'home' race.

I'm sure they'll expand the schedule over the next few years. I remember Lime Rock was working on a pit lane extension. Can't imagine their doing that for anyone other than the USCR.

This. If you love the sport enough you should be prepared to travel!

Last race I went to was in france... Thats not exactly convenient

VIR in mid August and COTA in September are going to be scorchers
This weekend in Austin is forecast to be in the low to mid 80's (and, since it's the other side of a frontal passage, it's probably drier too). I'd say that's typical for this time of year, maybe extending into the low 90's if there hasn't been a front go through yet.

Porsche AG and Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) have announced the sports car marque will field a two-car factory team named Porsche North America throughout next year’s inaugural TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. The effort will utilize the new Porsche 911 RSR, the same as the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans LM GTE-Pro class-winning entries. The headquarters for the program will be at Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) in Santa Ana, Calif. CORE autosport will act as the competition partner for the program.

“North America is Porsche’s single largest road car and motorsports market. Therefore, we have decided to focus a full factory program in the newly formed series, similar to our competing in the World Endurance Championship together with Manthey Racing,” said Hartmut Kristen, head of Weissach, Germany based Porsche Motorsport. “Having finally a unified platform to compete on has made the decision so much easier to enter a GT based Porsche factory team for the first time in American sports car racing,” he added.

It is planned that the driver lineup for the season will come from Porsche’s factory driver stable for both works-entered cars. A driver announcement will be made at a later date.

The 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season opens with the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26.

I normally hate the American flag as a livery.

But, that looks quite nice! still a shame that it's on a Porsche, I'm not a Porsche fan at all. Go Mazda!
