Porsche just released another statement which stated that they will be selling the 991 to customer teams in the U.S. They don't believe the customer cars will be ready before Daytona. Team Falken Tire would be their only customer as Paul Miller Racing is likely heading to GT-D.

Also, with a Porsche customer car available, could we see the Lizards back in GTE?

I doubt the Lizards would return. Pat Long is already tied in with CORE and it's safe to say he'll be one of the factory drivers utilised next year. Bergmeister would have WEC duties and I can't see the Lizards returning without factory support. Neimen made the switch to GTC so he himself could be more competitive. Spencer Pumpelly is the only one of his current crop of drivers with GTE class experience so they're limited there. I'd like to see it happen but I doubt it. Although Long and Bergmeister pairing up again in anything would be awesome. (I'm looking at you CORE)

I think the Lizards are happy on GT-D where they can overcharge the hell out of the 2nd driver for a seat and make a proffit!

Bummer that VIR is GT race only but atleast they are still there!

There's also a PC-only race at VIR. No DP/LMP2 (P) class.

Mazda: I'm hoping for the GX machines, @ hawkeye122. I know they're slow as anything in their current class, but for the new GTD class, they should be interesting to watch.

Porsche: Lizards? Dominik Farnbacher, please yes... The other one, please no...

What does Dominik Farnbacher have to do with anything? :P

I'd rather have him driving the GTE Porsches than that Bergmeister... character.

Pat Long, I don't mind him. Dominik Farnbacher's cool, IMO. But... Bergmeister... Hey, there's a difference between racing and attempted murder.

So you don't like Bergmeister based off this one incident?

By that logic then, there's a lot of drivers you shouldn't like.

I know, I'm weird.

I'm just glad VIR made it - at all. Must be nice to have that as one of the local tracks, right?

Yeah it is nice! I will admit to that part as in headed to ALMS in 2 weeks for their event there. Just kind of sucks to have basically GT only event there since thats mainly what they have now. Granted if any series I want to see there, it's V8 Supercars more but they don't have resources to hold that type of event if you ask me (no big cities close along with logitics would be a nightmare).

No, I'm just using it as an example.

An example? Tell me on what other occasion has Bergmeister done something like that?

It was a once off and people make bad calls, no one is perfect. The heat was pretty high in that battle after all.

In fact after the battle, Magnussen and himself discussed it and there are no hard feelings.

I think youre being too critical to be honest. Im a Corvette fan and even I dont grudge on something from 4 years ago.

Turner looking like McLaren this coming season picture evidence when I get to a computer

They did have an McLaren street car along with the BMW's at Lime Rock.

McLaren GT3 coming to GT-D??? A McLaren would look pretty cool in Turner's blue/yellow livery.

EDIT: Actually, hasn't Turner built modified McLarens before?

I can't see it happening.. Turner's business is BMW's and I can't see him going against that.

They've got both Bmws for sale right now. Imsa has all but banished the tube frame chassis that Will was using. He has said that he's willing to change manufacturers if he had to

But his business is BMW, he's one of the best tuners for BMW street cars around, and his expertise in in BMWs. The whole "race on Sunday sell on Monday" applies greatly to Turner, I think he's just trying to egg BMW on to provide him with some support..

Pretty much. Cant see him wanting that Alpina GT3 car.... Is that even still around?

Unless.... They're working on an M4/3 GTE/3 car?

I bet RLL has been given that project ;)

I never knew that. Do they actually own the car, or did they simply assist the team with tuning, part supplies, and what not?

It means nothing, but Turner has used a Z4 GT3 before at the Dubai 24

Are you sure they didn't just sponsor a Z4? That looks a lot like the former team NFS car.
