I have to agree I love this combo it is soo much funThis combo is great!
Good luck to you, wish you the best and hope you make it this time. 👍
Round 3 guide is up (Day later than normal, but it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK !). As usual it's a slow motion lap talking about each corner, followed by a fast lap with both the bumper cam and 3rd eye this time.
Do let me know if you want anything changing for the final round!
Time stamps...
Enjoy !
There is one thing bugging me about this one - the two cones at the top of Eau Rouge. I come up over the corner and suddenly get DQ'd and I'm thinking "I didn't touch the cone". I use Hood View so I can see the front edges of the car and I know that I can see where the side of the car is.
So, I go to the replay and check to see if anything sticks out the side and nothing does, the cars' sides are parallel. I stop the replay and find that I found that I hadn't even come close to touching the cone so I'm wondering what's up with this. I'm really confused.
I'm finding some odd occurrences also. Yesturday, went and did the log in, log out, and log back into the event just to see if the grip issues were there like they were in the first 2 rounds.
I was really hoping for an "Aha!" moment that would help me break below a .500 but no dice.Round 3 guide is up (Day later than normal, but it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK !). I was really hoping for an "Aha!" moment that would help me break below a .500 but no dice.
I've been able to trailbrake better at LaSource but I've only hit a .5xx one time. That turn after Bruxelles continues to frustrate me; downshifting robs me too much speed. I tested out simply dumping the throttle, not even worry about touching the brake and just roll the car toward the apex in 4th. Works quite well... when I time the entry right.
Les Combes and Pouhon are really annoying, too.I've noticed this in other places, kinda takes away from the confidence level of corner entry at places. Nothing worse than a cone biting you that you haven't clipped...
Sure it's the same for all so we just gotta deal with it!

That corner really needs a name. For being incredibly annoying, I'll call it bus bend.Your staying in 4th at Bruxelles? Amazing! I would be on da beach for sure!
Edit: I see your talking about the left hander, still an accomplishment in 4th. 👍
Something like that. There, though, you could use more of the rumbles. What hasn't changed on my end is using the flashing gear indicator as a rough reference point.Ye the turn after Bruxelles is really annoying, I only find 3rd better as I can get just that little bit more 'turn in' than 4th. I do hate not having a marker or anything there as it reduces consistency so much. If I remember right last year we had the same issue but we had a choice of either just hitting the limiter in 3rd so we turned in at that point or going to 4th for a split second? Mind is a little hazy on that one though!
Will look later today.
So this is my fastest lap so far - 2:09,677 .... (settings: TC: 3)
For those who have some advice, i'd love to hear it !
I'd be more than happy to get some advices.
- I can't seem to get "Les Combes" right... everytime i brake, i fail to hit the apex on the first right hander....resulting in less speed to exit the left hander;
- The left hander after "Bruxelles" i missed the apex way to far...so surely got to get that one straight...
- Scrubbed off to much speed at "blanchimont" aswell i think..
Even though I'm no Alien here and in no way should I be giving advice, I still would like to say a few things here in regards to these events and my present experiences in them. So, if you'll just humor me for a few and let me say a couple of things, it sure would be appreciated and just maybe, my advice here may help at least one person.
Anyways, as you all know in the past, I used to sit here in these events for up to 10 hours at a time trying to improve. Now, that strategy did serve its purpose but in all reality, it lead to early burnout and running a lot of laps in frustration. I really don't think I met my full potential doing things this way. I would go hours, even days, with no improvement at all. What I have found now though is that if I just limit myself to 1 hour stints, 1 1/2 hour tops, I am enjoying the events a lot more and I am making improvements on a much more consistent basis. I usually do two stints, one in the afternoon and one more at night before going to bed. And like I sad, no more than 1 1/2 each. Also, in each new stint, I concentrate on a new corner each time, as opposed to attacking the track as a whole. Doing things in this manner, there has not been a day where I didn't improve somewhat. Whether it be .500 or .050, I still manage to improve.
I started using this strategy a while back, about 3 months or so ago, and it has really helped me to improve my overall times. Most notably, I managed to finish 4th overall, with a best sector time out of everyone (aliens included), in a past WRS TT event, which led to a D1 promotion. Also, with this strategy, I look forward to each stint whereas before, it was more like I was having to push myself to even take part in an event. It was becoming more like work and not so much an enjoyable experience like it should be. Sure, you'll have times of frustration, but I was actually to the point of looking at it as a job instead of a game. Now, I am really feeling much more motivated with a positive mindset when I enter into these events. With this new found strategy, I am really looking forward to this last round and what I may be able to accomplish.
Anyways, sorry to ramble, but I just thought I'd share with you all, in hopes that it may help some people, my new strategy and how its helped me to improve my skill set. Thanks for reading and good luck everyone, hope you all reach your goals. Stay fast,
Mitch
It's a big track to try not make errors on, it has taken me longer than a day to improve on my lap as well you just gotta keep trying. It's a good point actually @GTP_CargoRatt. I've been keen to try to see what I can do in these unimportant events. I hated round 1 as I'm not a road car guy, loved round 2 as I love the gt3 GTR.. But wow do I hate this round 3.
It's like no TT I've ever taken part in. In round 2, I improved a little each day. If I didn't improve, I matched my time. In round 3, I just have no idea what's going on. I just come on here, run laps in the low 2:08's, bang my head against the wall. Then just do it again the next time. I've never had a TT where I didn't match or improve my time each day.
It really feels like a chore.. I almost hate playing gt this round. I did a 2:07 on day 2, there would usually be around 0.700-800 left for me to whittle down over the rest of the event, but no. One session saw a 2:07.8 followed by a 2:07.7, now I haven't seen a 2:07 for 3 days.
It may sound like racing drivers excuses, but I really feel like there's something wrong with this event.
Sorry about the rant
Part of the problem is something I noticed at the start. People kept saying the Zytek was easy to drive, meaning being up to speed faster than in other rounds. Case in point, I ended my first day at a 2:07.9x but as of today, I've only improved by .4 seconds. Even with slightly better S1s, I'm often two tenths back at S2. I don't even get a chance to mess up at the bus stop because I'm just a little off somewhere and/or bus bend. It's a good point actually @GTP_CargoRatt. Hello guys,
Is the are trick for this round? I watched the replays of the fastest drivers, tried the re-enter glitch and shifting before the redline but I can't get under 2:10:1XX.
P.S. Im using a G27 in 900 degree setting.
Same here, I did a 2:09.005 on the second/third day and I haven't improved since. I just simply cannot do it. I've tried many different lines and using different gears for different corners, even sacrificing some corner speed for exit speed but to no avail. There is time to be found and I know I can do 2:08's with the right lap, but that hasn't come about yet. It's almost as if the more running you do, the slower the car gets. I know that isn't true. I don't want to come across as "I can't do it, I'm going to whine" but I agree with @Growling, something's definitely up with this round.I am stuck at 1,09.500, my first day time and I can't improve
That's the thing isn't it? I can't get close to my PB now (09.1xx at best), but I don't understand how?I can understand people saying we're not improving because it's easier to get up to speed in this grippy car, but if that were the case, I'd be able to match my time each day..
