So stupid - can't see Honda liking the ECU ruling, nor Yamaha nor Honda liking the gimme to unsuccessful Factory teams in terms of fuel and engines if they dont win.

So if Yamaha have bad luck with results and injured riders and Honda will all races this year between Pedrosa and MM, Yamaha get better rubber, more engines and more fuel. :boggled:.
Not at all. Honda and Yamaha are under factory regulations for the whole year, no changes. If anybody from the open class, such as A Espargaro, gets a win or 2 seconds etc they get some fuel and engines taken off them.

/\ Missed that last from Mike Rotch. Adamp is right. The fuel and tyre penalties only go for the Open class bikes.

MotoGP WUP Times

Marquez was running on the hard rear tyre and Redding on the Soft one.
I believe the rest of the field ran on the Medium rear tyre.

For the last few seasons I could watch MotoGP knowing that even if the race was atrocious it would still be worth watching thanks to the commentators. Now it's no longer on BBC there are a couple of fools talking over each other and making strange noises 👎

As for the race, it looks very interesting this season and not just because of Open vs Factory bikes.

I'd take crappy commentators over commercials any day(FS1 came back from commercials with 16 to go and went back to commercials with 8 to go).

Edit: That was a good race.

All 3 races were great! What an awesome start to 2014 :) Can't wait for COTA 👍

Would've wanted a more action-packed lead fight in Moto2, but I suppose Rabat was just too quick for the others.

Interesting results for MotGP - didn't watch it, just say the ending positions. Did Jorge just bin it of his own accord? Not a great start to the year giving away 25 points to MM :ouch:.

The usual suspects at the top of the Moto2 win board and hats off to Oliviera - someone please give him a competitive bike!

Yep, he was on the lead and lost the front going in to one of the lefthanders on the first lap.
He said in a short interview during the race that he was trying to push like he did last year but kind of forgot that the tyres this year can't handle that.

Standing starts are so silly. I'd like to think qualifying means something in European style racing, but the silly standing starts ruin that. Lorenzo goes form 5th to 1st and the whole field is jumbled by Turn 1.

The field becoming jumbled is kind of the idea, it adds unpredictably.

Sad to say that due to working commitments and also not paying for the BT Sport package, Qatar marks the first event I've missed since 2011. It looks to be the case for the whole season, annoyingly.

Is there anything non-American that you don't hate?

You'd of hated the old dead engine starts

Apparently there are to be highlights broadcast Monday nights on ITV4 so not all is lost!

Nakagami DQed for non-conforming air cleaner. Suppo tried to appeal but was rejected.

Why is Suppo appealing? Is Taka's team that heavily linked to HRC?

I learned one thing yesterday. Grand Prix motorcycle racing is far more entertaining than F1!

Also good to see that The Doctor has still got it. Amazing 3 final laps! Oh and nice to see Husqvarna in Moto3 as well, although it hasn't been Swedish since I don't know when, and it's basically a KTM bike.

I know of a french site which streams the races. If you want you can turn off the audio. Currentle on my phone but will provide the URL when I can.

Launching from the start is a driver/rider SKILL and infinitely better than a rolling start for sprint races.

I had to download ;) the race and watch it off a USB on my T.V. You can normally find HD recordings of MotoGP sessions if you look in the right places.

Cal had a slight Technical Issue :dopey:

4 Riders had a competition to see who could lean over the furthest

Lorenzo came off and admitted he was pushing too hard

But what a Race Mr93 once again proved how amazing he is , think about it , every race he has finished in since joining MoToGP he has been on the Podium

Rossi what can you say he started from 10th and cut through the field , fantastic too watch , great race , hope there is many more like this and less people ending up in the kitty litter . Poor old Yamaha must have had to hire the biggest skip in MotoGP History to chuck out all the broken bike parts .

Really felt sorry for the Tech 3 team so much effort put into the race weekend and nothing to show for it :(

Now that would be interesting, would let the bigger guys make up some time they lose down the straight.

Awesome race, just too bad the Yamaha doesn't have as much top end as the Honda.

I have set that up to record, but it doesn't include Moto3 or Moto2 highlights from what I've heard.

I have found a site, but I had wished to record the race as I didn't finish work until gone 9pm UK time last night, meaning I missed all three races.

I just noticed no 'premiere series at least' 2 wheel racing organizations go to Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. I wonder why?, it cant be the track is too dangerous for bikes are some thing like that I hope? I would really like to see MotoGp at least if not SBK too race the Yas Marina circuit under the lights!,.

-Just a Thought'

They don't seem interested as far as I'm aware. Not putting up enough cash compared to the Spanish tracks if they are.

For the reason why you won't see MotoGP ever returning to Suzuka....safety....there just not enough run-off space. Now unless some serious safety upgrades were I could potentially see the circuit on the calendar in the future.

Moving onto Lorenzo....look like he might be in some deep **** due to due his battered-up bike from qatar:
