Why is the Virginia Tech scheme running at Bristol and Martinsville and NOT at Richmond? Has Richmond relocated to another state? (And at the same time, switched locations with Bristol?)

VT is 3 hours away from Richmond, 1 hour 45 minutes away from Martinsville & 1 hour 50 minutes away from Bristol

Also they are playing Tennessee (@Ganon83 posted already) there, and I'd assume that Bristol is the closest track to Tennessee, and Martinsville is the closest to VT

I think its not related to the football game, only to their connection to Virginia Tech. From what I've heard from Tennessee people unless its a last minute surprise there isn't going to be a Tennessee car in the race.

I understand why they're running a car with VT on it, but being this close to the game and with the race being in Tennessee. Yes I know Bristol is on the state line but I also know that a lot of the people there will be from the Knoxville and Nashville areas. I think they would be better off running the car at Richmond.

I hate throwback hype generally but this thing is pretty badass.

That Tide Toyota is sweet! In a different sense, I always remembered the Tide car as a Ford. So it's kind of weird seeing the Tide car as a Toyota. Then again, you could say the same about the #43 STP car being a Ford even since Dodge is no longer [but should return to] in NASCAR. That Tide car still looks wicked sick!

Loving the Tide throwback. Only thing I'd change is switch the outline and main colors of the number; white for main, blue for outline. Just looks odd to me, but then again, it does match the logo.

Tide has been on several different numbers and manufacturers over the years. Ricky Rudd drove the #5 Tide Chevy for Hendrick, and then moved on to own his own race team, driving the #10 Tide Ford. I love the classic orange scheme, and am glad to see it on the car being driven by my favorite driver!

After that great affair at Mid-Ohio, my friend Stan tells me NASCAR is being bombarded with requests to run all their races on wet tracks.
