It's just Jayski doing his usual "report everything semi-related to NASCAR" thing.

Why did the #11 FexEx car change the FedEx paint schemes?
FedEx has a highly recognizable, iconic logo, but the color scheme across the company's many business divisions varied-until now. FedEx announced back in August (yep, I missed it) that it's consolidating its look by turning all of its logos purple and orange. The simplified visual identity was created after FedEx's research showed that purple and orange is one of the most recognized representations of the logo by consumers. The purple and orange combination was previously used on FedEx's Express and Supply Chain logos and will now run on all of its business division logos, including FedEx Corp., Services, Office, Ground and Freight. FedEx Corp.'s logo will change from purple and gray to purple and orange, for example, while FedEx Ground will say goodbye to its purple and green color scheme (AdWeek), looks like the scheme has stayed the same since Chicago in September. See some of the differences on the #11 Team Schemes page.(11-16-2016)

I think your work in the B-spec series' would be more than enough to get a job as one.

Jayski's being the crap again, what's the article about the FedEx car about?
Basically FedEx has stopped using different colors for each of their branches. For example, whenever Hamlin would run the FedEx ground car, he'd have the same FedEx scheme, just the orange/purple swapped out for Ground green.

Thanks all. I agree with catamount, it's a shame they're dropping that, for the cars it was a nice touch to have different accent colors from one to another. I'm sure a lot of people paid no attention to them, but I usually caught it.

I just realized something.

With Tony Stewart's retirement after the season, the only remaining active full time Cup drivers in next year's field that raced in the 1990s are Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, and Greg Biffle all raced in NASCAR in the late 90s, but none of them made it to the Cup until 2001/2.

Bobby Labonte also raced in the 1990s, but I highly doubt he's racing next year, even part-time.

With that statement I believe that all the drivers who competed against Jeff Gordon in his first race (1992 Hooters 500) are no longer driving a Cup car. I used that race as it marks the era in time that I really committed to NASCAR and the Cup series. Most likely due to the media reporting that race being someone else's last race is what got my attention. I watched some races before then and everyone since.

Fun fact about that race is Rick Mast set the pole speed. Brett Bodine was in that race, he drives the pace car nowadays.

With Junior likely on the way out (barring a Kyle Busch-like return to form) that would leave Matt Kenseth.

Martinsville was what really got to me, also this restart was probably the most hyped I've been for a pass in NASCAR ever

Tonys 4 wide passes in 2011 was what did it for me lol. The Hype, not the crying. Sonoma I was sobbing lol.

Bowyer is really excited about the end of the season

*Bowyer right now*

There are possibly 3 charters on the market so the #21 could still get one.

CirlceSport was leasing theirs to the #95 team for 2016 so that one is available again.

Premium Motorsports was leasing theirs to HScott for the #46 but since that team's likely going away it's available again.

HScott also has one that was used on the #15 which may be available, but is rumored to be going to Furniture Row.

You can't lease a charter more than once every 5 years IIRC, so Premium would have to sell it completely in order for it to be available.

Even then, Kenseth and Jr. each only ran a few races in the late 90's in Cup. They didn't run their full rookie schedule until 2000. Kenseth's debut at Dover in 1998 subbing for Elliott was impressive. Jack Roush knew what he was doing when he signed him on.

Interestingly, I was recently watching a Cup race from 1998 on YouTube when it hit me that every single driver in the field was at least (semi) retired or had passed away. Gordon and Labonte are the only two guys that were racing full time back then that ran any races this season. Granted it was 18 years ago, but still a thought that hit me heavy.
