Neymar and his Brazil squad are doing great so far!

0-0 against South Africa and again a 0-0 against Iraq today!
Denmark is leading the group and are the final opponent for Brazil.

I wont be surprised if they lose again to Germany like in the World Cup semis from 2 years ago

I doubt that they will even make it to the next round. They're absolute crap at the moment. They're nowhere near a team.

I'm not watching the Olympics but somebody passed me this cartoon.

Good day for Team GB so far with a Bronze in the track shooting and a Bronze for Tom Daley in the 10m syncro diving, the Men's gymnastics team narrowly lost out just now though...

Congrats to the Australian Womans Rugby Sevens team for winning against the Kiwis 24-17 to earn the first ever Gold Medal in the sport!

Hey, all congratulations to Australia taking down New Zealand in Women's Rugby. I didn't see any of the game, but it's great for the Aussies taking down the Kiwis. Australia vs. New Zealand is usually my favorite rugby rivalry. I'm so used to Tri-Nations Rugby (or whatever it's called these days). And yes- women can play rugby just as good as the rugby men can.

Anyhow, cheers to the Australian women's rugby team!

Yes Congrats to the Aussies.......But its never great when Aussie beats New Zealand :grumpy:

Rugby Sevens starting soon, Australia already won the Womens Gold, hopefully they can win the mens(unlikely but who knows).

How many teams are using players from the 15 side game.

Was trying to watch the Australia vs Serbia game, and of course technology is screwing up. I'll have to try and finish it tomorrow I guess.

Enjoyed the Diving yesterday, felt GB were lucky to even scrape Bronze, their performance was pretty poor TBH. Goodfellow kept landing in the water further away from the platform than Daley! Also they are different heights which makes it even more difficult to synchronise.

So disappointing to see the stands half empty and those who attended are mostly other Olympic team members and staff who have some free time. This many days into the games with so many events half empty (even Beach Volleyball!) I don't think things are going to improve.

Also saw the US basketball game, those spectators dance moves

I swear i literally saw two people dabbing in front of the cameras in that game

Dutch Gymnast Yuri van Gelder has been sent home because he went out for a drink last night.

He's a bit of a controversial ringhanger because he was caught sniffing cocaïne back in 2009.

"Lord of the Pints"

 It's gone so filthy green that the Olympic committee are going to make an announcement on the matter in the next few minutes.

Yesterday it was pretty much the same colour as the pool but now it's gone totally cloudy and looks to be going darker by the minute!

News outlets still have nothing concrete on the cause of the colour change. Some athletes are socially media-ing their own speculations.

BBC
Once competition was over, organisers released a statement to say that they were still investigating the cause of what was being described on social media as pool gate.

"It's very important to the Rio 2016 community to ensure a high quality of play," read the statement. "Tests were conducted and the water was found to be safe. We're investigating what the cause was."

When I was watching some of the Men's Rowing highlights, I noted New Zealand had a stroke rate of 40 while everybody else had a stroke rate of 38. That is some mad conditioning for sure for New Zealand! I heard part of having that kind of conditioning comes from cycling. I never done any rowing, but I kind of remember doing canoeing or kayaking when I was in Elementary School.
