The Lexus GT3 is actually happening next year. :D

Meanwhile the trolls are gone for good this season.

Interesting to note though that the comments point out that the issue they had was less the BoP and more so how the BoP screws up the Porsche's balance. Their comments though so...who knows.

Also...huh?! :odd:

Erm... We've covered the Porsche thing, almost, its 3 posts above, still no announcement from Core though,

...the terrible thing is I think I remember replying to that. :embarrassed: Though this article was saying how the GTD was more likely than the DPi.

I bet they told DSC "We're doing DPi" and then told Scoop Dagys "We're doing GTD" when in actuality they're doing both. I replied both to their troll poll tweet and they immediately liked it FWIW

Magnus not laughing this time. Sounds to me like they got screwed.

Maybe they should have showed up with Dennis Bermudez at those meetings with IMSA.

WTF with AJRacing and Weathertech ???? I wonder if Magnus may move on to PWC next year.

And CORE in a IMSA BoP'ed GTD Porsche? I have to think if CORE is in the GTD class with a Porsche they must know something that AJR doesn't about future BoP. It's time for them to move on up past GT class. These guys would probably agree.

New Ligier completing a shakedown. Already 8 ordered worldwide. A handful of Oreca customers too with their chassis expecting to be shaken down in a couple weeks. Maybe we'll see some of those guys at Daytona and Sebring to fully race the new cars.

I'm normally the very first one to poop all over the assertion that European teams will come over to race, but if there's a year for a bunch to come, it's this year

PR1 is moving to DPi.

So we have:

More or less confirmed:
Action Express -2 (Cadillac)
WTR -1 (Cadillac)
Speedsource - 2 (Mazda)
Spirit of Daytona - 1 (no confirmed plans on what exactly they are running)
PR1 - 1 (WEC Spec)

Unknowns:

ESM - They said they wouldn't rule out a full time IMSA return but I don't see it happening.
Keating - He purchased a car but hasn't clarified his plans, just that he was planning on Le Mans.
Starworks - They announced earlier this year they were moving up but it's been quiet since than.
Shank - Heavily rumored to be going to GTD with the NSX, it's hard to see them in DPi as well.
Panoz/Deltawing - They've said a DPi program is possible but haven't said anything else.

Didn't HPD conform Shank was running the NSX GT3 next year?

Other than that, We're probably going to have at least 10 cars in that class next year. Very good stuff. 👍

Can't wait for next week! If you want to check out my car by the way, I'll be in the Audi corral. Plenty of cool cars will be in that section. It's basically one big car meet.

Don't forget CORE either

Could be an increase in P entries from last year to this year

Would like to see a WTR retro SunTrust black/yellow livery and a AXR throwback to their first start as a team (which was a win in the Rolex 24)

Or they could do an even better throwback and just resurrect the Brumos name (AXR was originally the Brumos DP program).💡
That would be nice too!

I'm glad MSR runs the orange/black throwback usually once a year as well because that was a great looking livery

I'd be a bit more impressed if the old Michael Shank racing livery was actually memorable. If I hadn't seen that post I'd have never even noticed. Teams change so frequently nowdays with such mediocre paint schemes (well...vinyl schemes) that it's tough to get excited about most of them. The Mazda sure looked great though with the retro scheme. Genuinely iconic.

Yeah id like to see the old sun trust livery back, the last livery they had on the Dallara bodywork before the corvette bodies came,

Can I just ask something that may not have been asked before. It is a daft question really. Can someone please tell me where and how the heck you all come by all this information you all just put up so easily and so frequently? Every post on this forum is crammed full of the stuff. Incredible.

You just need to know where to look. Dailysportscar and sportscar365 tend to be good news sites. Motorsport.vom is also good as well. The more specific info is found in smaller sites from what I can see

Not even 2 minutes in first practice, a Mazda stopped on the front straight. :ouch:

I have never been a fan of their cars, but certainly a big fan of their support of motorsports. I have to admit though, they are at risk of becoming a laughing stock if this continues :boggled:
