This is auto racing we are talking about. None of the cars have any sort of catalytic converters. Both are emitting dangerous chemicals, but only over a short period of time. We aren't talking about everyday road cars here.
The Audi's are fitted with DPF's though.

This was also in the Regs a couple of years ago
The engine must not produce visible exhaust emissions
under race conditions

Unless it's night at Le Mans and no one is looking.

They also changed the position of a camera at Dunlop because it was skylining the cars and EVERY time an Audi was shown you could clearly see a smoke trail behind it. :ouch:

I have paid for the wec live streaming/on demand. Yet today, i want to watch yesterdays race and i cant, just 3 min clips and 3 minute highlights clips. What an absolute joke. They said we could watch a whole race again up to 1 week after.. i cant see it anywhere on the website. Its just on the app. They wont be getting my money next season !

Should have watched the right race live then...

If you have a smart TV you can cast it from your phone to the TV. Not helpful if you don't have the right type of TV of course...

Well, people laughed at the Idea of Diesel and look what happened. People weren't even considering hybrids in LMP1 and look what happened. "Drunk" is the last thing I'd call Audi after what they managed with said technologies. I'll just enjoy watching more bitching and moaning and "End of Motorsports" Doom & Gloom topics people make simply because the competition as usual can't build a better car.

Imsa schedule is out for 2017 and they have moved their COTA date to May (the same weekend as 2017 WEC Spa race btw) which me be a sign that the Lone Star Le Mans is done after this year.

Good. I hate COTA. They may stick with Mexico for the American race but I'd rather they raced somewhere like Elkhart Lake.

But it's the future.

U.S race in Mexico is kinda like the WEC UK round in Dublin, ain't happening. If the WEC goes anywhere it will be Indy since the LMP1 paddock would not know how to handle itself if they had to work under a tent at Road America.

I didn't say USA. America is a continent mate. Not a country. Therefore Mexico is correct. It's even in North America. I know about Elkhart Lake, I just love the track.

North America is a continent, America is a country. No need to get pissy about it, just say "I meant to say North America" and leave it at that.

BTW the ones paying the bills in the WEC (the OEM's) will not accept not having a race in their largest market.

WEC isn't IMSA

Considering Audi has said many times they miss racing over here, I'm absolutely sure they would not like the idea of not having a race in North America.

Not the same thing really. Audi miss racing a top tier LMP in the USA, having the US market as their stage. Even if ALMS wasn't entirely that big in terms of audience, it was still endurance racing in an American based series. Just isn't the same to turn it into a combination US/Mexican event. Besides Mexico deserves to have a separate event for themselves, and an event to call their own.

Unfortunately COTA is the only fully modern FIA Sanctioned facility. Update another track and then we'll have some options. That's why they built COTA. To have a modern race track built in modern times, not an old circuit being updated to fit regulations. Formula 1 races there, hell even Australian V8 Supercars comes to the US for one weekend around COTA because it's a world class facility. Just facts.

Indy GP was grade 1 and if they need that status back they can pay the fee.

If there is gonna be round in the US, its gonna be at a track with actual pit garages because the FIA have some sort've plague-like dislike towards tents.

Well there have been rumors that Watkins Glen could easily become Grade 1. I wouldn't mind another race over here. Might take away from the NAEC round though...

Mileage =\= eco-friendly.

Choosing between petrol or diesel is choosing a lesser evil, which is petrol. You will find that, yes, diesel offers better mileage. But diesel also emits more hazardous particles than petrol engines do. So you may be running longer on a tank of fuel, but you are actually not being any more generous towards nature.

Environmental issues with engines go way beyond mileage, what do you think is all the fuzz around VW about?

Care to debate that?

Well you can thank Zytek for hybrids in the top class of Sport Car racing. And Pescarlo

Here's a suggestion: Build better cars, the end :P

Dishonesty to the customers, Lying to the EPA and several similar organizations (which is a big no-no), False Advertising.

Not sure about Pescarolo, but yes Zytek is kinda responsible for bringing Hybrids to Sporstcar racing at all. Point was Catamount was making a silly downplaying response about a certain manufacturer making a winning car using a alternative technology when they've twice made that happen.
