Wonder why they decided to call it quits. Fan reaction? Sponsors saying they won't sponsor teams without a V8?

Think maybe other Holden teams not wanting to run it, could have been played into it as well. Didn't Erebus say a few weeks ago they were planning on sticking with the V8 for 2019?

Yeah, Holden also blatantly said(about the new car) they won't run what they don't sell.

Please, Nissan. Stay. Activate the Super GT engine for next year. Seriously, people weren't complaining about the sound coming from the HWA/Erebus motor. The wail of the turbo four, would be expected from the Nissan camp.

The regs still allow for turbo V6's to enter should they wish to. If Nissan bring the GT-R or GT-R's motor into the game, Holden may regret that....

...may.

With that, Holden are allowing the fans to dictate what could be developed. The V6 might have made Holden experiment with exhausts(the way F1 have) in the future. The option should still be available.

What if Kia wanted to come in and run the Holden/Generic V6TT? Then, switch to a Kia engine later. This move looks bad on Holdslen and but for the sporting regulations.

"The other was just looking at the landscape and trying to guess what's going on. Is everyone going to go to V8s? Will there be twin-turbo V6s? Is everyone going to go electric?

"So I think for now, we know we've got a good package with the twin-turbo V6, so we're just going to set it aside, focus on the V8 until we get a little bit of clarity on where everyone is.

"As that starts to evolve in the next couple of years, we can either bring that back off the shelf or do something else.

So basically what they are saying is that they don't want to be the first ones to commit so they are going to wait for someone else to go non-V8 before they do the same. That's what I get out of this.

The weakest link in the whole Nissan program is the V8 engine.

I've said it before & I'll say it again. They should've put a turbo motor under their bonnet for this season.
I'd bet my toes their results would already be better than what they are.

Nissan are better placed than the other two to adapt to turbo technology.

This as the top 2 cars in the last Super 2 practice are Nissan's. I don't think it's the engine, they can hang just fine with the others down the straights. My observations so far this season are that the cars are all over the place. They need to figure out how to set the cars up to win. Obviously when they get it right they are capable per Caruso's win at Darwin. Just hoping this new high profile guy they hired will have an effect.

SIMONA! She put her car in the top 10!

Edit: Ah, booooo. Slade pips her by .03seconds.

So, uh......this is happening.

Holden suspends V6 turbo development

It seems like it was all of the above reasons. Can't say I'm disappointed, but I really think it was a sensible move....for now.

Wow, all that fuss for nothing. Looks like we won't see a V6 powered car on the grid until next year.
No, it's been suspended completely, as in, it won't be running next year either. V8 will be Holden's engine for the foreseeable future.

its been pretty uninteresting so far, in my opinion. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the new format, but in previous years qualifying here has been crazy with the drivers constantly one-upping each other for pole position. So far this weekend there’s been none of that.

If it isn't Chada, it's one of the Kostecki cars.

Edit: Booo! Who is in charge of the calculator? When these races go time certain, Why don't they already have the lap counter changed? Just when the racing was good, time certain is called.
