Oh FFS!

Anyone want to come forward & say they believe the NASCAR Chiefs are paying for their own trips in the hope of learning something from Supercars? Anyone? Anyone?

I will be amazed if it is anything other than Supercars laying down the red carpet for a fully comped, 5-star trip so that they can all spitball ideas on how Supercars 'can learn from NASCAR's experience of entertaining millions of fans for generations....blah, blah'. :ill: :yuck:

Without any idea of what they’re here for, I’d suspect it would be more about them getting info and experience from us, rather than giving to us.

Definitely interesting though, whatever the reason is.

Cool trophies.

Edit:

Supercars Trackside is on right now. The venue looks unreal on TV. So much like a European event. Windy.

Edit2:

So, a rumour about the Kostecki brothers entering the main game next year. IF they supposedly are to get the Tekno REC, LeBrocq in the 888? Then, Simona in 2020? I wonder...

I'm still loving this track and facilities. It's new, professional looking, Carrera Cup looks cool right now. Hey, maybe we might see Supercars on the longer circuit in the future.

As far as the way the drivers have to attack the circuit, it reminds me a bit of GT Sport’s Dragon Trail - Gardens.

Qualifying should be interesting today. Only 15 minutes on a track that takes 10 seconds short of 2 minutes to get around while struggling to stay on the track because of lack of grip :nervous:. Might be worth putting in a banker lap early.

Percat's assessment after Practice 3, doesn't sound promising. He feels they'll have to drive 50% to thec limit because of the grip.
Dunlop should have made available the SS tyres.

I really like how professional the whole track and facilities are. Some the track nowadays look a bit too grassroots for the countries largest series (Winton for example), while The Bend feels like a proper high class race track.

Nick Percat’s race suit is great. Got a real 1990’s Peter Brock look to it.

Well I saw that coming.
Yeah, unfortunately, so did I.

A co-worker asked me yesterday, who he should bet on. I said Whincup. He's had the highest percentage of wins at new circuits, was my reasoning.

Oh, well. At least the Nissans are up the front.

We'll see if Whincup gets to keep his pole. He's under investigation for that unsafe rejoin apparently.

No penalty for either Whincup or SVG.

Hoping at least one of the Nissans can take it to the Red Bulls and McLaughlin.

Yeah. Hope the Nissans have those excellent starts like they normally do. It's a long enough run to T1, for Caruso to get out front and hold position. If not, look for an exciting single file RACE, to an RBHRT 1,2.

Edit. The Hino Hub is just fantastic. Seriously.

The turn 4,5,6 sequence will be very interesting on the first lap. I really hope the Nissan’s can bring the fight to the Red Bulls, otherwise we’ll need some carnage to keep it interesting.
