Oof! All T8 cars top 3 first hob out. JC and Pye nest, with Percat the sixth Holden.

Call this one a wrap.

Hope Lowndes can get the jump on the other two.

Well, look at that. 3 Nissan's top 10. Great job by the late hitters to make the 10.

Much better from qualifying pace from both WAU cars. Happy to see Pye up on the second row.

McLaughlin has some work to do.

Really impressed by the venue. We’ve had a decent wander around so far. There’s a great viewing spot between turns 4-9, crazy how much elevation change there ya between turns 8 and 9.

The final section is also a pretty decent spot to sit, another spot where you can get a good idea of how great the elevation change is. The circuit is certainly far from flat.

It’ll be interesting to see how the facility evolves over the coming years. It’s still a bit dusty and rocky but once the grass has grown in and all the development around the area is complete it’ll be incredible.

Hope Pye can get Giz.

Edit: oh well, fantastic circuit.
I'll call Rick and Jacobson win Sandown.

So surely Lowndes will have a livery pulled out of his own racing history for the retro round at Sandown, right?

I sure hope so.

Edit:
Hopefully he doesn’t get a Caltex one, despite how good they can look.
I fully expect him to get a retro Autobarn livery & I don’t see why he wouldn’t.
Autobarn would have to agree to anything else, as would the other sponsors on the car & I don’t see that happening.

How about the old Betta Electrical livery from when he first joined T8 back in '05? Could imagine them maybe doing something like that to celebrate his time with the team.

Either way, I'm sure they'll do somthing special for him.

I completely forgot Caltex isn’t his main sponsor anymore. Give me a break, the seasons just started!

@Spacegoat that could work. Does Betta Electrical even exist anymore? Not that you’d need them on there anyway.

No worries mate 👍 In an era where one livery a season just won't do, it's hard to keep up.

Look at how many seasons DJR ran the livery in your avatar. IIRC from 1988 - 1991, it was largely unchanged & if I was a betting man, I'd say that pic is from the '89 Bathurst win? I know it's not '88 because of the three cars entered, #17,18 & 28, none had JOHNSON BOWE on the windscreen.
by 1992, Palmer had disappeared as a sponsor & the Shell signage had changed to yellow.

I’m not even sure which year it’s from to be honest.
I much preferred it when teams kept a livery for at least a couple of years, but it just doesn’t work like that these days.
Can you imagine how many suits Percat has in his wardrobe?!

The new Bend Motorsport Park circuit has all the ingredients required for endurance racing, according to Supercars CEO Sean Seamer.

I'd like to see it happen 👍

@Cap'n Jack Are the rocks still this bad?

They needed to come in with many hundreds of truckloads of top soil back then, and later when I was there it was the same but with more grass.

No idea.

Maybe they could do the "Lnowdes" livery for Sandown.

There's a Betta Electrical in Traralgon, VIC. That's the only one I've seen since the chain went bust & considering the way the partnership with T8 ended, I wouldn't hold out hope of anything resembling this livery.

Personally speaking, This tops my list of most-hated Lowndes liveries :yuck:. I'm sure no one at T8 remembers it fondly either :irked:
We all know what happened that day  🤬🤬🤬:banghead:🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Wonder if Polyphony Digital, are working with them, to get that deep deep extra deep red to look like the real thing in HD.

Edit: Speedcafe reporting T8 cars will run their current liveries. Even Lowndes.

It’s not RDs fault if the sponsors don’t want their liveries touched. Sponsors can be a fair bit work, and for them it’s not always about an attractive car, but what gets their logo the most eyes. To be honest, it surprises me that Holden and Autobarn wouldn’t want a retro livery, but Red Bull are to be a very hard company to statisfy.

Yeah Red Bull doesn’t surprise me. Autobarn? I’m disappointed.
