How did the race go? How are we looking?

How are we looking? Yikes :scared:

Like some extremely drunk guys fighting to control a car. By the end of the race everyone had serious damage and no-one was able to drive in a straight line.

My car had damage early and was constantly turning right. It was still something I could work with, funny thing was at the follow-thru I would could let go of the stick and the car would drive the curve perfectly. Then later in the race I got into a tangle and that re-damaged the car making it want to turn to the left now. Which was okay as my thumb was getting sore from correcting one way, now I had a chance to switch.

But once we get to the serious races, it should be good. There seemed to be quite good parity across the field.

It was fun, but impossible to gauge how closely the cars are matched. I'm looking forward to some "normal" racing with that line up. There was a lot of variety in the field.

We had a couple laps before everyone got damage after the restart, I think there will be very close racing, even across the classes. For next week, everyone PM me as to whether or not you will race. This will help get the race started quicker.

Since it is apparent that the top option will win in the poll, everyone will pick 1 car to run. If you have 2 cars listed you have to choose which you wish to run. Also new entries are still being accepted, we have plenty of spots available. If we get more than 20 entrants we will run each class separately for the first 9 races with the top 8 in each class advancing to the final 3 to run for the overall championship.

im in for next week...

im gonna stick with my sti also....the F40 is to hard to control on a DS

I just looked at the poll also, and i think its funny how we have 16 total votes and only 7 people show for the race ...

I'll put you down for the STI, there's 4 or 5 who voted who haven't even posted in the thread, also wilk489 left right before we started, so it wasn't that bad...

I'm in, and can't wait! I just got my wheel so i'm going to suck, but the awd should help me. I'll be sticking with my Mines GTR.

No your'e not!! I'm suposed to get my replacement this week, so after 6 weeks of racing on the Dpad I need to stack up the miles as soon as I get it!! Nurburgring here I come!!!

Thats the first track i went to, couldn't wait, lol. It takes some getting used to, but you can feather the throttle so much better and turn so much smoother. It still very tricky to "save" the car from spinning, but that'll come with time.

What wheel you getting?

Sign me up I have the same PSN handle as my GTP name.
Will be driving my '89 NISSAN 300 ZED X TT (669HP, 1223kg)... can't wait:crazy:

Hate to sound like the 'rules police'. But there's a 0.5 HP per kilo rule.

So you'll need to have 611HP max for that car weight. Easiest way to do it is un-check a few of your car's tune-up parts.

Fanatec 911 Carrera, I love it!! And you can't beat it for the price!!

Wich one did you get?

I got the G27, and i love it! Was going to get the thrustmaster, but 600 for a wheel with no shifter and some complaints already i was reconsidering. Then i dropped by the store to see if they had one and seen a G27 sitting on some random shelf(been out of stock since early december everywhere), and just couldn't get past the fact that i could be using it that day.

You couldn't have made a better choice!!

Nice car choice, bump the HP down though .05 HP/kg limit, at your current weight your max is 611. I'm glad we're getting some Class 3 entries, see you on the track. Also if you want to practice I believe you can enter my lounge (under my PSN) even without me hosting.

Sorry for my absence, I will have to figure out what car I am going to drive, I will have an answer for you on wednesday.

Also bdub, I hope you choose class 3 to make the fields for each more equal in size.

I maybe in class 3 but i'm gunning to take down that sti of yours! The .5hp/kg rule keeps both classes really tight. I'm sure my 600+hp will help on the straits, but your lighter weight will get you through the tight sections a little quicker. Can't wait!

It'll be a great race, I think we will be very competitive. Setup and pit strategy should play a huge role, along with keeping the car clean. Also note we are one spot shy of 16, if we go over that amount I will start a wait list. Those on a wait list will fill the grid in the event of a no show, if the wait list reaches 4 the classes will be split up and run separately as mentioned previously.

Turns out that Fridays are going to be bad for me over several months, so unfortunately I am going to have to drop out. I will keep an eye on things with this series and if things change for me in real life, might be able to join up again later.

I understand, I'll put you on the wait list so if we have a no show and you're available that night you can race.

There are now 2 spots open for the series. If you plan to race in round 1, final car choice is due 30 minutes before the race. Also be sure to PM me so I know that you'll be racing and if you need a couple extra minutes. If I don't get anything, the race will start at 10 with or without you.
