Maybe don't think of it as misguiding people since that infers you are teaching tuning - you're not, you're offering tunes to be used and they happen to be used by a lot of people. Who knows, maybe there are more people here who can improve their times with your setups than tunes that are even looser. In any case, it always comes down to what suits the individual.👍

A good tune like Cargo´s at the beginning of the event helps me more than a perfect tune two days before the event is closed.

Always BIG THANKS to every one who share his tune !!!

My apologies for pointing people in the wrong direction with my tune then. :guilty: I've never claimed to have all the answers when it comes to tuning or even claimed to know what I'm talking about. I only tune in the way that it suits me and how I like the car to feel. You know, this is why I stopped posting tunes because every time I do, people come around and more or less tell me I'm wrong in my tuning, which is totally fine, I never claimed to be right in the first place. I'm not saying you're wrong, because you are probably right. I just don't want to steer people in the wrong direction or misinform them by posting my tune and have them think my theories/numbers are correct. And its not about me not being able to take constructive criticism. That doesn't bother me one bit. Its when people like you come by and basically tell me my numbers are wrong. (rear toe is a killer of lap times. The more you use it to control entry oversteer the more exit understeer it creates.ills your exit speed and thus your lap times... There are better ways to more accurately manage oversteer, such as ride height or LSD Decel) If that's the case and I am leading people astray, then I understand and sincerely apologize. So again, please understand what I am saying here. I just don't want to continue posting my tunes if my numbers are wrong/misleading or if there is a better way of doing things. I just don't want to create confusion. That's why I said before that I should just leave the tuning to people like you and the other aliens. I mean, after all, one can't argue with you're TT records and success. So again, I profusely and sincerely apologize for the listing of my tune here. :guilty: :( I in no way meant to steer people in the wrong direction as far as the right way to tune a car. I am very, very sorry for this and meant no harm. :ill: :(

@NixxxoN Yea, don't listen to me, I don't have a clue. :guilty: Do what Stotty says, he's the expert. 👍

WTF?

Not sure where that came from... I posted in reply to @NixxxoN saying he was using -0.30/+1.00.

+1.0 of rear toe will kill any rotation the car has and result in an understeering sledge.

As a matter of interest, what ride height/ LSD decel or accel figure(s) would you use on this TT to manage oversteer

Not easy to explain fully without an essay, but I'll give you the very simplified version...

Too much entry oversteer - increase LSD decel by very small amounts until you get the entry rotation you want. NB; brake balance and how you brake (trail or not trail braking) has a big influence over entry rotation.

Too much exit oversteer - reduced LSD accel by very small amounts

Rear toe is a last resort/blunt instrument route to controlling oversteer - it does work, but in correcting one thing with it you are causing other issues. LSD is much more targeted in its effects.

Nice tune!!! 👍
Tanks for making my day:cheers:@GTP_CargoRatt.
Manage to get 1:33:5xx and that is a really god monday in my world...
Appreciate that you share the tune so early in this event:), and the new format in your posting is perfect:tup:

Thanks again:bowdown:

THIS IS NOT A REPLY TO ANY POST so no one needs to get their knickers in a twist ok

Whilst it seems that our friend here struggles to come to terms with anything other than complete and unadulterated admiration and praise for anything he posts, when on song he is a valuable and productive member of this community.

His tunes are always solid and the new way he posted this tune is nothing short of brilliant

Which brings me to my point on topic : Why can't anyone in the top 10 ATM post their settings so that those of us who are mere mortals and are struggling to put a 1:33xx on the board use the same settings as the ELITE and see how we compare to them using their exact same settings?

We plebs can only improve by studying the more gifted players out there and putting their practices into use and trying the settings that they use to improve our meagre talent and skill sets.

So kudos when it is due, good on you Cargoratt for having a go and trying to be positive and constructive 👍 I am currently on 1:33.607 for #143 mainly thanks to your tune with my own modifications to LSD and suspension to suit my style so
Many thanks to Stotty for the LSD and toe lessons and tips, SW10 for tunes when posted ,WhoosierGirl for inspiration and Jogo, LisaNorm and Eepee for pushing me

A big cheerio to the (Current) top 10 Aliens ( present company excluded) who can't be bothered sharing so that we the :gtpflag:community can improve and prosper.

End of rant
 and Merry Christmas to all

Likely they don't want to give a clue to the other adversaries in the top 10, if you want to compare your driving skills with them, you can do it in a "tuneless" time trial that PD puts from time to time in the seasonal TT's.

Thanks for replying eclipsee 👍
At least you took the time and thanks for your previous help and tunes

I don't really have "skills" to compare or compete with Aliens (not sure I really like the term) So , sorry I really should have said "got the most out of my limited abilities" rather than "compare myself to them" :dopey:
In a tuneless TT where we are all the on the same terms , I know I have pushed myself to my limits. In a tuned TT how do I know I haven't reached my full potential if I am not using the best possible tune available? Yes I know there are so many different variables etc and we all have different styles and equipment and I can't tune or drive for 🤬 it is just strange that only a couple of the elite like yourself and rajman and to a larger degree stotty and Sw are forthcoming with tunes and tips.

And I suppose it was a backhanded compliment of sorts to our friend for at least taking time out to develop and share tunes for the betterment of the community ;)
Over and out sorry to ruffle feathers :embarrassed:
I really like these Christmas smilies by the way :D

some different tunes would be great,i like cargo ratts tune, but something else ti try out would be cool too

Is there any discussion going on about this TT being at a different ingame time than the track is normally?

Yeah, @GTP_CargoRatt everyone has their driving style, therefore everyone who tunes, has their way of tuning a car. You have your own, I have my own, and @Stotty has its own.
give a dummy like me more tunes please you aliens:bowdown:
Im not an alien but I post my own setup, based on @GTP_CargoRatt 's tune, but modified in order to be more NEUTRAL (less oversteering) so the people who like more neutral, or less oversteering cars, might like it. Personally I'm fastest with this.

GEARBOX: Same as CargoRatt's

BRAKES: 4/5

TRANSMISSION: 9/5/25

AERO: 325/600 (a bit less than max. at the front)

SUSPENSION:
RH: 70/65
SR: 9,24/12,18
EXT: 1/1
COMP: 1/1
ARB: 6/3
Camber: 0,0/0,5
Toe: -0.20/0.80 (I made it a little bit less extreme)

There you go, if anyone wants to try it and give feedback...

thx

You tested different Downforce settings @Stotty? I'm using minimum downforce, improved to 1:32,547 today. :)

Not yet... not something that occurred to me, but now I'll have to try it :D

I wanted to have a good run at it tonight, but I don't want to risk running a good lap and it not registering.

A suggestion for you two. :D
