1:30.629 for Bronze. (Personal best) WOOT WOOT!!!!
X-Bow tune by Ed_Night
Eat that. Think I'll have a celebration smoke.

Try the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. It is ideal for beginners. No need to tune it, just set trans to 180 mph and drop differential accel setting to 8-15 your preference. Zero the camber, toe is up to you, max the downforce. Leave the brakes alone.

Fast tunes don't do you much good when you are still learning the basics. This car is easy and very forgiving to mistakes.

Edited for clarity :): I have boasted about this car the whole time to help people. Just because it is not hitting 1:19 laps does not mean it can not hit a 1:27 at 7/10s effort.

Found I had lost the tune I used yesterday (Ed Night's with reduced ballast which gave me my best overall time 1:20.6) I kept getting signed out for some reason, so today I started fresh using Ed's tune as he posted it.
Improved to, 1:20.395 for pos #85. Only a second behind Ed now, ha ha, thanks for posting your tune mate.:)

Thats totaly right.
Its a big different if your trying to get gold on the event or if you get the last tenth of your ride because accidently somebody stole your top 100 rank ... :)

Setups for top 100rank and realy forgiving save "idiotprove" setting are completely different.
Better try to find a clear line and stay on the track first.
The best setup is worth nothing if one is not able to draw the advantageous from it and just keeps struggling against the setup instead of using it ...
consequently take another setup then.

I just drove the Amuse around Ricky Bobby style, late braking, missed every apex, intentionally got it sloppy in places and still pulled a low 1:26 lap with virtually no tuning like I recommended. Why struggle when this car will almost do it for you.

This is for people struggling to get gold still. Nothing to see here Aliens lol.

The Amuse for sure is a good one.
Nonetheless also the x-bow or NSX or nardo is a good one and also easy to drive forgiving and everything, just with aa adequate setup for save and easy and handy drive and not this one for the last tenth where in 9 of 10 cases you rather hit the barrier then the correct line on which you gain advantage.
Thats what i wanted to say.

for example i figured out a bread and butter setup that more or less fits on any reardriven car and with which i was able to gold this event easily with a bunch of different cars.

Use the car you like, but find a setup that realy suites you and your abilitys and dont take one cause everbody cheers on it ;)

mostly i do not post setups because they are way better than the others. they are NOT i know. they normaly are hardly 90- 95 % as fast then others maybe, but they are easier to get used to and still compatetive enough to solve the events.

and now have fun finding your favorite setup :)

There seems to be a certain pattern for the cars that work best in this challenge. Cars like the X-Bow, the Amuse, the Suzuki GSX, the Acura / Honda HSC or the FT-1 all follow this pattern:

A short wheelbase and a very low center of gravity help getting through the fast and winding turns. A wide track and / or wide wheels also keep the car stable. As grip is low, cars with lower torque can be handled easier, so a high revving 2l turbo should be preferred over a big 7l V8. Downforce is nice to have, but it seems not to be as important as usual.

This event ends on the 3rd, I get back on the 23rd but I have to order my new wheel from a store in a different state which is said to have good delivary times... This shall be a close one. If I can make it my car choice probably wont be a leaderboard car as I don't find that as fun as picking a car to challenge myself. I heard the FT-1 was mentioned (by @Kossie) , is that car tuneable? I don't think it is but I would like some confirmation. I'll do some searches see if it is.
Edit: Power wise I doesn't look like it. Edit 2: Oh yeah it's a concept

Reading all these posts just makes me want to hop back on right now! I love reading everybody's little reports on how they went :D

I have achieved gold with most of the high end cars. Most in just 1 lap lol. Once you have the track down it becomes muscle memory. But the Amuse stood out for me. It almost has too much grip, comical compared to most anything else. The brakes are almost too good also. That is why I recommended it for novice drivers to get a gold here.

Try the Alphint VGT, it's stable on the first corners. Then ....With the long slow brake it goes completely wrong, It seems they do that with a reason. No gas and ''rolling'' is murding the lap.

The Alpine is my kind of car. It took a few laps to gold with it but nothing drastic. The untunable differential makes it real tail happy, but it is very forgiving at the same time. A joy on any track it is eligible.

Anyway, Got a 1.23.1 lap with the BOW. If i train this a lot there is a 1.20 in it. But that take time(what i not have).

you mean where you are supposed to brake back to 1st gear at the approach of the hairpin turn? what are you using, controller or wheel +pedals?

That is probably where he has the issue. MR cars like a light throttle through the apex then you roll in to it after you feel it settle. Fraction of a second thing that is easier said than done. Usually hammering an MR at the apex upsets the car, at least it does to me.

Yes that long brake, And Yes i use a controller. The first 3/4 corners are fun/done. with the Alphine i got struggle that long brake corner, With the BOW it's better but i have to train it for days if i have a 1.20 time i think.

I see what you mean. I tackled this with my recently aqcuired DFGT.. having pedals to gauge your speed is a must.

I found a few stragglers I forgot about over at the Mercedes dealer. :dunce: SLR Mclaren, SLS AMG and The AMG VGT. The VGT car was super easy to gold. I have never given it much thought.:guilty: Maybe I should have.

I tried a few cars i usually don't consider worth driving. The C4 Corvette ZR1 was not easy to drive. I just couldn't get gold with it. Too much torque with 600PP and when i reduced power, it was to slow.:( I only managed to get 1:28 lap times, never feeling comfortable in the Corvette. So i banned the car to the stockyard again and switched to the Oullim Spirra. This one was tricky. First i couldn't get past the first turn without spinning until i raised the ride height to 140 at the rear. After a lot of testing i found a working setup that brought me down to a 1:26,2xx. I wouldn't recommend this car to beginners, but after i sorted out the quirks, it was quite ok. Next car i drove was a BMW M5 from 2005. This was surprisingly easy to drive. It never felt as heavy as it is. I was down to the Spirra lap times after only 3 laps. So i think i'll have a go at some other BMWs (M5 '08, M3 GT3 and M3 CSL) now.

The C4 Corvettes got short changed in front grip imo. The grand sport had 275 tires on the front, same size as a viper. But a 97 Z28 grips just as well being heavier with narrower tires. GT6 logic I guess.

On topic: @Ed_Night Tried out the X-Bow tune. Got a 1:24.1 just messing around. Real nice drive for a fast tune. Seems the car was made for this track.
