I don't think anyone is upset about how hard the event is, it's more about how unequal/unfair/counter-weighted it is. But we know that, I mean, PD sucks at making races. In fact, they suck at everything apart from physics engines IMO, and it's the only reason anyone plays GT.
Don't get me wrong on this. I am one of the strong voices against PD's direction and late results with their coding choices, settings mistakes and limitations, high promises and constant disappointments (GT6 is not finished as it is right now), but realistically we need to work with what we have, correct?
Racing environment is about constant change in the conditions, and the ability to adapt as quick as possible to all the elements. Sometimes it sucks and is unfair, people push to far, loose control and crash into others, some other times we make mistakes causing trouble. Nobody in the racing community is complaining about the conditions, because they are the same for everybody, and by choosing to race, we make the choice to push, take responsibility and deal with the consequences.
If you like to race and got caught in a crash or an accident, in real life you'll try to recover as fast as possible to race again; in the simulation world, you do the same in an instant. It is about the feeling of racing and I don't understand what is the problem of starting it over and over and over again. Question is, do you like to race for having fun, get better, improve your skill, push your limits and respect all the other people in the community for having the same hobby, or is only about clearing a task on a damn intimate list?
Personally, I don't like the easy events, with predictable cars on the track, because the only challenge is to go faster, but when your opponents are unpredictable everything changes. Racing line, braking points, positioning your car on the track in order to defend or stop the faster (with superior PP) cars are different, and car handling is more difficult. But those are the moments when you discover the limits of your skill and what that vehicle is capable of.
If you feel you are good, the next step is to fight to get better. If you struggle, the next step is to fight to respect and learn how to push your limits.
Those opponents in GT6 cannot be compared with anything from real life other than not being perfect, because nothing in real life is perfect. Consider them moving obstacles meant to make you better by not touching any of them and in few months (or years) you'll find yourself whistling while winning races in GT Sport, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, Project Cars or Formula 1 2016.
