All stock (1.11 suspension) 535PP (no oil change) ABS 1 , No SRF

I am pretty sure that that is the slowest field as it doesn't have a 2J, Toyota 7, 330 P4, or a 2D (in that order). I am surprised that the Mark IVs did so poorly. Did the V16 cause a crash?

If your having trouble, look for this lineup. If you multiple 2Ds and a 330 P4, they go much faster.

Using a completely stock 330 P4:

Ferrari 330 P4. PP 591 Stock. No penalties. Cockpit race. P1 Chaparral 2D. P2. Chaparral 2D. P3 Audi Auto Union. Pass for the win on lap 3 at Griffin's Mount Corner. Fast lap 1:58.231. Winning margin over the Chaparral 2D 1.798. The 2D came back at me on lap 4 but after that I left it in the dust.

My race with the stock Ferrari 333 P4 was a blast. I had been using tunes that did not work as well as just running it stock.

Oh please, with that fast lap time take on the Toyota 7 with a stock 330 P4. I've been trying most of the day, but I can't get a lap time below 2:00 and he keeps beating me.[/QUOTE]

Ferrari 330 P4 '67 with previously mentioned ShaumM80 tune. Clean run, under 10:10...

But the Toyota 7 still beat me. It zoomed away each time I got within 1 second.

I get there's a big PP difference. I get the 'elastic band' driving. The lead AI are sand-bagging until I get close, then show their true pace. But it underlines how ludicrously OP the AI are. In fact, I can't remember having AI that are literally 111pp over the regulations even in Xmas seasonal events.

The swerving, brake-checking, ramming, wall-hitting and yet penalty-free AI make this event truly aggravating. When trying anything other than a 2J here.

Every time I try to use a car other than the 2J, a 2J is in the race. If I get bored of retrying and go in with the 2J, there's no 2J's in the race...

Irritating.

They must be getting faster because I used that tune on July 2 and got these results:

The 2J is pp653 so to ask you to beat two with a 600pp 2J with 30-40 secs head start on bathurst with traffic... a track that isnt great for overtaking... errrghhh...

So clean and smooth. What wheel/pedals do you use?

Even with 653PP it wouldn't react the way it does once you get ahead of it, so PD is asking even more than that. However, I'm starting to think that if they made the game more fair/equal, we'd lose interest in the races a lot quicker, so what choice do they have?

I think they should make "challenge" races, where the AI works properly, but you have to enter the races with less PP to get Bronze, Silver, and Gold. So if it's a 600PP race, and you enter with 550PP, only Bronze is available to you. If you enter with 500PP, Silver is available, and with 450PP Gold is available. Doing it this way we would still be at a disadvantage, but it would be ok since the AI would react correctly (no N2O, no RS tires, no ramming, no out-of-the-sand in a heartbeat, etc.).

Logitech PlayStation 3 Driving Force GT Racing Wheel with a few modifications. I use foamed rubber behind pedals so I don’t need any aids as the feel of the pedals is as realistic as all the race cars that I had as they all are hard pedals to push and this give the same resistance as all of the race cars that I raced in the SCCA. I also have a better anchoring system for the wheel. I am using plastic ties to anchors the wheel to the frame of the Playseat System and wood popsicles on the shaft of the Playseat GT Gran Turismo Seat so that it further anchors the wheel with absolutely no play. The Playseat System is as important as the wheel itself for sure. And last I purchased a lumbar support that I put in the front the seat to aligned my back to the seat better stability for my back. The back of the seat as no support whatsoever and my back was killing me after a while. I hope all this helps you and sorry to be so long winded but I wanted to make sure you got as much information as possible.

I don't think I'm any good, and I honestly don't care to get better, I'm mostly here for the fun, but I do like to achieve the time I know I'm capable of while having it. I also realize that I'm the weird one out, as it's the same in real life with my Lotus Exige. People try to give me crap because I don't track an obvious track car, but it doesn't interest me in the slightest. I have zero interest in going to a track to chase tenths, and much prefer driving mildly spirited on super smooth, traffic-vacant back-roads.

Cheers.

Awesome Car!!! 👍

After being rammed from behind more times than George Michael in a public park I finally managed to conquer this race... but it took 4 (German) beers in quick succession to do so. I'm not a terrible driver but I do think the beer takes the nerves away.

You almost made me spit my Beer out when I read this.

I got to watch what I read while drinking.

Crazy race in the Alfa (I'm not giving up yet) against a grid with two 2Ds up front. I'd got to P3 on lap three with a Ferrari and the two 2Ds ahead, and all three went off as I caught them leaving me in the lead with two laps left. It was looking good until the end of lap 4 when the swarm hit me. They'd picked up a Mark IV on the way too. The little Alfa took a right battering and a few penalties to rub salt into the wound. Finished fifth.
