Both Forza and Gran Turismo have weird quirks when it comes to realism. Between the two it's almost pointless to highlight one franchise over the other.
Not really take Nissan gtr ex in Forza it goes 210-215 mph stock its unrealistic. In gt sport it maybe hits 200 mph at the most stock with makes it Much closer to the real thing. Cars looks more realistic as well. Gt sport is not of the level of project cars 2 or assetto corsa. But its more realistic than Forza Always has been. We should not even campare the online mode between the 2 games. Forza has Always been a mess with no rules or penalty.
The Only better thing with fm7 is more tracks and cars thats it. As soon gt sport gets more of that and even maybe on the same level, Forza will Lose its
advantage It had over gt sport

EDIT: Ah, You're not talking about the GTP zx, I got that mixed up.

The cars look realistic in both games, it's ridiculous to pretend otherwise. As for realism, it falls short on some aspects, and excels in others, but for a simulator, it's right there along the same level as Forza. It always has been. These two games are easily comparable as games that are easy to jump into with relatively forgiving physics, while still retaining realism enough to resemble real world driving.

My opinion between the two merely based on franchise ( the last GT I played was prologue on ps3) and I played every GT up to that point. However I have played ever single Forza including the horizons.
Forza wins in terms of car feel, the amount and variety of cars, better track roster and overall customization.
GT as far as what I remember and see now wins graphically although not by too much, a little more realism, soundtrack, and presentation. Sound wise it's hard honestly as Forza has had a good track record but the last couple of games things have been a little off here n there with several cars and GT overall has better sounds THIS TIME finally after 7 games.... So all in all both games do indeed have their advantages and disadvantages.

Thank you.

So often you see people point to the second word in the franchise name as a reason for wanting nothing but race cars (or at least cars that are heavily focused on track work). As if Gran Turismo has always been about big, long-legged continent crushers.

People take these things too literally.

Besides, you can always slap a number on the side of that Odissey, gather up a bunch of like-minded friends and hit the VIR for a race. Then it is motorsport, the Forza way!

I was never into full Sims. Forza and gt is still pretty simular games. And this is the kind of racing games i prefer. I was never a fan of pc or ac. Upgrading cars is a most feature for me. I am just. Bit disapointed that none of the 6 car packs had Any of the new supercars. I know that everyone have different tastes. But why add suvs/trucks each month but almost never Any new supercar but i guess some of the new like 720s, superfast will come after car pass expires. Its Always like that the better packs comes at the end. The bugs and some of the car sounds could have been Done better.

So you were just over exaggerating the personal issues you have with the game to try to portray it far worse than it actually is? I mean, it's not like that wasn't obvious.

I begin to wonder how things are at Turn 10 these days. There was a time when car packs arrived in accordance to a tight monthly schedule and oversights in the content were rare. Nowadays the release dates are all over the place, which is perfectly acceptable, but now we can also add the fact that this update has been halted from meeting the original release date. Ok, this can happen to any developer but it's not normal for Forza. It's also worth mentioning that Turn 10 no longer seems to care whether small details like shifting animations in the DLC cars are working or not. When combined with the widespread opinion that FM7 isn't exactly stellar compared to previous Forza games, then it all begins to look like an unwelcome tendency.

The only thing that feels coordinated these days is when and how locked cars will unlock, which is a distraction nobody needed in the first place.

Chances are they ran into a game breaking bug with the DLC. These things happen and I rather them hold off and push the release date back than release something that breaks the game.

I don't really understand why people criticize GT or Forza for their lack of "realism". Meaning why do people compare these games to more serious sim-oriented games like iRacing? Aren't they kind of aimed at different audiences? It seems to me that these GT/Forza games are designed this way on purpose. By design, they are not hardcore sim-racer oriented games. Obviously Sony and Microsoft want these games to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, and I'd guess that 90% of racing gamers aren't "sim-racers". IMO, both games do an excellent job of being very accessible to nearly everyone while also offering sim elements than can challenge even the most skilled sim-racers. For me, GT Sport is the better game this time around mostly due to the vastly better online experience, but FM7 certainly has its advantages. Both are great games. It's a great time to be a racing game fan with so many amazing choices; GTS, FM7, AC, PC2, F1, Dirt, iRacing and others.

I am kinda getting nervous about expansion news being non existent. Only really because we had one new track introduced in this game. That is kind of weak.

Edit: This is way off topic for this thread, sorry.

I would wait until the end of this month into early next month and see what may or may not come since technically we are still in the midst of the season pass. With the lack of expansion news though I'm gonna guess if we do get one , it's only going to be one and will probably be around the summer. But again it's all a matter of wait and see.

The inclusion of only one new track in the base game is one of the things that make me optimistic for an expansion. I have this idea that they might have teamed up with IMSA for an expansion arriving around the time of the Mid-Ohio race next month.

And that my friend would be cool as hell...we get mid-ohio and about 14-21 NEWER imsa GT and prototype cars...T10 would redeem themselves if they pulled that off.

Heck, if it was that many cars why not make it a mix of modern and historic IMSA cars? The AAR Celica GTO, Corvette GTP, Mustang Probe GTP, Olds Aurora GTS-1, DeKon Monza, March-BMW GTP, Protofab Corvette GTO... even some GTU cars like the MX-6, 240SX and Dodge Daytona would be welcome additions.

I feel much the same way - don't get me wrong, Forza's never been more welcoming to car nuts like me, but QA has dropped through the floor. Hopefully it's just a symptom of them adjusting to having more than they've ever had on their platter (and having to essentially work on certain things for three different platforms), and in the future things will only keep getting better.

If they were releasing an FM6-style, IMSA-themed IMSA EP, it could potentially come with all the individual models racing in the current IMSA WTSCC season and not already included in Forza (17), plus five cars to spare (that could either be addtional liveries for the 17, updated and spec versions of the C7R, Ford GT and 911 RSR, or older cars). That being, the situation on that front (and many others) is looking gloomier every day. And with the amount of old IMSA metal coming to the game, I'm more and more inclined to believe that for now they're exploiting the partnership to that goal - although if they were to use their connections right for once, and hire or "rent" the necessary workforce to bring an ambitious vision to fruition, FM8 could truly be a spectacular game.

This is deserving of it's own thread. An IMSA expansion like that would give me a
full on robot chubby

Funny that they didn't show the Odyssey in the trailer. Seems like leaving a vehicle or two out of the video is common lately, especially the ones that would be considered controversial. I'm trying to recall if this was done in videos for packs for past games?

It's been done for most of them, iirc.

First time I noticed it was when the Kadett GT/E was left out of one of the FM6 car pack trailers. One of the FH3 car pack trailers also didn't show the Supra MKIII. Both of those cars aren't controversial at all, so I'm not sure what's going on. All cars are listed in the new trailer and it's not like people can't read.

You'd be surprised.

Guys who cares if they leave a car out of the trailer....it's still going to be in the pack. Way too minor to make a big deal out of
