Umm. Carnage and messy. I tried to run the Manu round at Brands Indy. I had consistency but no pace whatsoever. Qualified p14 and went for a kamikaze strategy. Start on mediums and pit lap 1. I ended up gaining ground as people made mistakes stretching mediums or just the usual brands errors.

I held a few people up for ages as it is so hard to pass there. Eventually 1 person got a good run alongside and as I left room another tried a wild dive bomb. They slid past in front of me on my screen and started wiggling. Suddenly they darted off. I'm sure they feel I punted them but I didn't as far as I can tell, but with PD lag who knows. Into lap 24 and someone wrecks and has damage. They block the line and keep swerving to keep me behind while damaged. Heading onto the last lap I make a cut back on Paddock Hill to be on the inside at Druids. They get loose and wiggle on the curbs taking out themselves and the car behind. Ugly.

Very messy. Horrible tight and stupid combo, but Q14 to P9. And not again.

Anyone doing this: Good Luck and stay calm.
I have had good FP pace so odds on I am about to completely bottle qualifying and get stuck behind/ punted by half the field.

Im thinking about just going RH for no stop in beetle as it seems people will be flying off road and wrecking everyone, just try to keep a nice consistent pace & not wreck for me, also im wondering if i really want to qualy and dont get on pole and be put in mid pack to be punted off

I did some FP today for the upcoming Nations Cup round at Le Mans, using the 919. My best time is about 3:26.xxx, but the best times are about ten seconds faster! I wonder how? Bah, I suppose there's not much point in worrying about it, since I plan to race in the GT2 class.

Went again in the final slot. Won again, just to prove it wasn’t a fluke. Qualy was 3 tenths slower than my best but still good enough for pole.

Started on mediums and kept it neat and tidy for 11 laps. Pitted with a 5.5s lead over 2nd. Rejoined in 5th and didn’t get held up too much for the 3 or 4 laps until everyone had pitted. Once they were all done I was still 5 seconds clear of p2 who was now on mediums. By 2 laps left the gap had shrunk to 2 seconds but P2’s tyres were disappearing and he never got that close again. Comfortable win in the end for 271 points.

Do you think its best to start on med then hards or vice versa, i race at 7p cst tonight so im looking for best tire maintenance

Manufacturers Cup GT1 tonight.

Qualified 15th 0.6 off pole in the GR Supra. Finished 8th

Only 3 people missed the RM + RH tyre memo before the start and got the 1min penalty.

I started on hards, pitted end of lap 15 for mediums. Better than expected finish as im usually constantly moving up and down between B & A in the daily races.

First Sport race in a few weeks. I signed for Hyundai thanks to my randomisation process.
Started well and grabbed P3 on the grid. Thanks to this I opted to start on the mediums.
Start was sedentry. Kept the gap between P2 and P4 steady. Then lap 2 P1 goes for a trip to the beach in Paddock Hill. Myself and P1 now pull away from those behind. I close onto P1 and we slow due to the battle. Around lap 10 they break a little early into Druids and I hit them. I slow and thankfully the car behind also slows. I think they may have hit me in the confusion too. However my rhythm is scuppered and the car goes wide into Clearways and P3 goes up the inside. My car then spins and I take out another car. I may have been touched but I can't say and it is likely I took myself out. I am facing the wrong way on the grass and it takes me the typical 10 years to get back to the track. Not quite last. I pit lap 15 for hards. I thought I had the speed to just coast through Paddock Hill on the way out but nope so I visit the beach this time. And then at Druids I spin on the exit. Now I am DFL. Time to set to work. If I can get a top 10 after these nightmare middle laps I'll be happy. After a lap or two the understeer settles and I pass some people in the pits. An Aston I am chasing goes wide into Surtees and I hit them as they rejoin in McLaren. They go miles forget to brake again and into the gravel at Clearways. I slow but then decide that I won't wait any further as it was half their fault anyway. I run out of laps to get the Lancer ahead but a no stopping 911 gives me 10th. So happy with the result after my short break but annoyed as a podium was certainly on and maybe the win.

Alfa + Brands Hatch = Uncompetitive to the max level 🤢

Started last and finished 12th because of shenanigans at the start and during the last lap :indiff:

After running a few laps last night I thought the BMW was going to be a bad choice, went out in Qualifying, banged out a lap that stood for most of the session on pole, had a lap going that was .2 up in the first sector but traffic played its role leaving me .05 off the pole time. As my hard tyre strat almost paid off in the GR series at le man last race I went with the hard tyre first thinking I could go full race no pit, but reading the required tyre rule kinda played in my head. So the front guys shot off into the distance while I played myself into the race, 7 sec gap to the leaders by lap 7 but I notice it coming down, and the leader pulls off to go from Softs to meds, then a lap later 2nd comes in and goes from meds to hards. Knowing that they would last 7 laps before the speed went off I guessed when I would have to come in (lap 18) and by that stage I was coming up on traffic so came in and bolted my meds on. Then went after the new leader caught and passed him coming out of druids, then had a few hard laps battling it out then I come wide out of Graham Hill bend and loop it losing the lead, gather it up and drop to third. So using my tyre advantage I slip up the inside of 2nd and settle for 2nd, then the leader pits with 2 to go (went from soft to med to hard) giving me back the lead. So for the last couple of laps I'm feeling the pressure trying not to let the car spin out or go wide (again) to pick up my first W in Manufacturers cup. And to top it off I got my A rating in DR from it as well. 87 points never felt so good

So I entered the manufacture race just to say I’ve done it, get some points on the board and I’ve ended up so angry with myself.
So entered the session with a 44.1 and in quali I somehow went an stuck it on pole. 43.8.
Race starts and all fine, lap 2 the car behind putting a bit of pressure on and I look at he radar to see where they and next thing I know I’ve touched a wheel on the grass. Round I go and lose P1 and end up P9. Made a few overtakes and lap 8/9 due sheer lack off concentration I run wide on the start/finish straight and round I go again. At this point my head gone and start making a few more errors. In the end I ended up quitting.
Going to run again next race and hopefully make it to end with no errors.

Jaguar - 5th, 132 points.

Was expecting this to be a bit of a mess but turned out pleasantly dull.

Eventually qualified P4 after lingering around P11-12 for most of the session. Just took some time nailing the lap.

Started on mediums and quickly fell to P5. Stayed that way til I pitted at the end of lap 11. After everyone had taken their stop I was somehow back to P4, but the Maltese Aston who'd overtaken me earlier caught me once more and passed again. They were simply faster than I so just settled into a nice rhythm til the finish with a comfortable gap back to P6.

P1 and 2 were WRX. P3 and 4 were Aston.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable race at brands tonight, I think it helps having actually practiced on the track a few times prior!

Qualified P4, went for the mediums first hoping to jump the cars ahead if they'd gone for hards. There was one person trying to push people off, tried it with me but I just let them through then watched the do the exact same thing to the next two cars!

Didn't really like the mediums so pitted lap 6 for the hards then after all the pit stops found myself in 3rd! Could keep pace with 2nd but 1st was long gone.

At the end of the race the guy pushing everyone ended up somewhere near the back & was complaining in the chat about "Fg cheating English" 🤣🤣

I'll take 3rd in the Evo and only one WRX in the top ten too which was refreshing!

Disappointed in next race
Q3
Ok start and found myself in P1 after L2. Pitted L11 and spun on exit. Afte pr that I had zero confidence in the hard tyres for the rest of the race. Finished P6 so will take that and move on.

Looking forward now for tomorrow’s Le Mans slog! 👍🏻

I was one of the cars stuck behind you along with the blue GTR and i can only apologise for the amount of times i bumped you in the braking zones. First ever 'FIA' race on GT7 and at this rate the last!! Absolute nightmare of a race. Got punted off eventually at Druids by a Gnarly driver who i then saw crash a couple of laps later at the final corner battling you and the GTR so i felt a little justice had been served there! Basically qualified 8th and finished DFL!!
Don't worry about bumping me. I recognized you from sport and knew that none of it was on purpose. I was so erratic hoping to make sure I defended without actually swerve blocking that I'm not sure I was driving all that well anyway. Your gnarly problem has cost a few people as well since the roll into the new game. But looking back at races with him it's usually just mistakes and sloppy driving, he doesn't seem to be deliberately nasty unless I've read the replays wrong. That is without a doubt the second nastiest race I've had on GT7. So don't hold that as a regular occurrence. I think the combo was just gonna be prone to create contact, even accidental contact because of the track, BoP and tires.

Was good to see you out there despite your result. Hadn't been sure if you were still on here or not.

Really struggled lugging the Jaguar around this track in practice, thought I was done for in the race but surprised myself and qualified 9th, with a 6th place finish for just over 200 points.

Would've been a nice 5th but I got sent to the shadow realm by a Genesis driver who decided the best line through the last corner was to go straight and then bounce off my door, which.. fair enough - I suppose it got them through faster and put me sideways out of their way. They weren't wrong.

Game didn't penalise them though, of course, but I'm not complaining about that finish position either way.

That race was a lot less fun than I anticipated. Understeery GT7 physics make Brands a lot less pleasant to drive than in GTS.

Qualified 5th, crashed lap 2 and went to last, ended up 10th (only actually passed one person, otherwise everyone else I moved ahead of crashed or quit). So couldn’t have gone much worse on a track the Hyundai seemed decent on.

Not good, alas.

Couldnt get past the thought that this was a weird combo. Had to check that the next race wasn’t N100 around Spa.

Bad decision for me to race. I started poorly and it went downhill from there. Gave up in the end due to “fun” being as lacking as my own skill level.

Ah week, there’s always next round. :indiff:

Slot 1: Qualified a somewhat disappointing 6th after messing up every single qualifying attempt after my first flying lap. I was up on my previous lap in the first 2 sectors multiple times but couldn't seal the deal. I could've had at least 5th on the grid, as they were only 0.003s ahead at the end of qualifying. Had I been even remotely close to my FP pace I should've been contending for pole, but whatever, I could probably make up spots in the race just by staying clean...

The one good thing about starting in P6 specifically is that for some reason the game makes 7th place hang back a ridiculous amount at the start, with a gap at least twice the distance to the car in front of it compared to the rest of the gaps in the field. That meant I could take it easy into T1 while my tires warmed up without worrying about losing out to the car behind. A few laps later, the Mercedes ahead of me got the entry to T1 wrong and allowed me to get a run up the inside to the hairpin (Druids). Unfortunately I braked a hair too late and allowed the Merc to get a cut back, so positions stayed the same.

Meanwhile, a WRX that started several spots behind me on Softs had forced his way through the field and was right behind me headed into the final corner. I slightly outbraked myself there too, allowing him a relatively easy pass up the inside, putting me down to 7th. When I saw how much he pulled away after that, I figured he was on Mediums and I'd catch him later, so when I saw the red "S" icon when he entered the pits, I was even more relieved because I knew he'd have an extra pit stop to make, so I no longer had to worry about passing him again.

Meanwhile, the Mazda that started and was running in 3rd spun out of Graham Hill, putting me back up to 6th. The WRX on Softs pitted, moving me up to 5th, then a GT500 Supra that was just behind the WRX when it pitted also pitted the next lap (Lap 10) and swapped to Mediums to run for the remaining 15 laps. Another WRX that had started on Mediums and was running in 2nd also pitted at the same time, so for the moment I was up to 3rd. The FT-1 that started behind me and was staying in my slipstream for most of the first stint then ran wide at the exit of T1 and allowed @Geauxgreddy past. He was now behind me for a few laps before pitting on Lap 15. I came in the next lap to hopefully fend off an undercut, and managed to do so, emerging back onto the track between him and the Supra GT500 that was trying to run extra long on his Mediums. With his Mediums already starting to wear, it only took a few laps before I was all over him, and coming out of the final corner he lost traction and had to lift to keep from spinning. This gave me an easy run up the inside down the front straight into 4th place.

From there I slowly reeled in 3rd and 2nd, but was still a couple seconds behind on the final lap when the 2nd place Mercedes (that I'd tried to pass early on in the race) lost the back end coming out of Graham Hill, overcorrected, and went off track, shoving the WRX that was now on his outside into the grass with him. The Merc slid into the wall, gifting me 3rd, while the WRX managed to keep going forward and returned to the track at the penultimate corner. His dirty tires caused him to really struggle, but unfortunately he was just far enough ahead to ward off any challenge from me, so I finished 3rd for 286 points - my best result in both position and points so far this season.

Waste of my energy tonight as i was in C lobby from daily B thia week, qualy 1st, led most of race on hards until i got ready to pit on lap 20, then is when the mess started, got knocked off road by a bomber in a McLaren on last turn before pit, never recovered because my beetle had to pit, ended up in 10th and was over it

Well, my manufacturers cup was a disaster. Qualified 3rd, started on softs from qualifying, switched to hards and crossed the line in 1st - only to get a 1 minute penalty for not using mediums and finished 12th instead. (Noob mistake, I didn’t realise you had to use hards and mediums both in the race). Went from stoked (thought I had my first win), to crushed by my own noobness.

Thought I could do better (now I know the tyres to use), so tried again and got punted out of 3rd on the 2nd last lap, spent 30 seconds trying to get back on track and got an 8th. Wasn’t happy with the punt so tried again. 3rd race totally my fault pushed too hard and again went into the sand, and lost a lap trying to get back on the track. So tried again but on my 4th attempt I had a senior moment and forgot to change from softs after qualifying, resulting in needing 2 pit stops to avoid the 1 minute penalty, and ended up 10th.

So one final shot at getting a decent result and entered the last race. And after warm up, the qualifying wouldn’t load (for any of us, chat was full of comments etc, the game just got stuck for everyone in the lobby), Bit by bit everyone quit, I waiting 45 mins and then gave up as it obviously wasn’t going to load.

So ended up with zero points for 5 attempts… and apart from the punt and the game freezing, all my own fault. Hopefully I’ll get better lol. 🙄🙈😂
