Did 3 races at Daytona with the Aston Martin.. which I think might be the slowest at least top end wise in all my groups. Even when drafting the car in front pulls away. It was painful to see, nothing you can do on the straights. Highest finish was p8 from last, all due to others mistakes definitely not my laptimes.

My first race at Daytona with the Jag. I arrived home late, so could only jump before the third slot, which I used as practice. F-type was quick here, in all races I did I was usually purple in all sectors until the bus stop. But I never managed to find the proper way around that bus stop at all, car (or maybe I) was very inconsistent there...

Americas Slot 3, wasn't really ready for a race, and hadn't done any laps other than TT with softs, so I ended up going off on my own. Used it as race practice. Managed to pass a couple of guys who also made mistakes up to P12. As I wasn't close to anyone ahead and I had enough gap behind (or thought I had, I just got it right by a few tenths) I pitted for softs at the end of lap 16 and took a cheeky fastest lap in the final one. My first fastest lap in GT7 GTWS. Finished P12.

Americas Slot 4, this one was completely ruined by who I think is the new GT7 alt account of the most famous dirty American/Portuguese driver. He punted me from behind to pass, then when I was re-overtaking in the straight, he turned right in the middle of the oval to stamp me against the wall. And after he went off himself, I re-passed and he punted me again a few corners later. Everyone was complaining about him in the post-race chat... impossible to race when that guy is around. :banghead: P8 finish, points weren't enough to count, so had to go again in the final slot...

Americas Slot 5, only proper race I had today, 269-point lobby I shared with @D_Dragline. Didn't manage to put together a good lap in qualy, but it was still enough for P5 on the grid, if I would have put best sectors of the session together in one lap, would have started 3rd.

Good start, but went wide on cold hards in the last right-hander of the infield, just touched the grass on the exit and had a big snap of oversteer. Mexican behind could not avoid me and lost a position due to my mistake (I apologized after the race). That mistake lost me the slipstream to the guys ahead. I was under pressure for many laps by a Brazilian in a WRX, who I later found out was on mediums. I was quicker for most of the lap, but he was much quicker in the bus stop due to the car and tyre difference.

On lap 7, he hit me in the entry to the bus stop, pushed me a bit wide. I think he slowed down not to overtake me, so I didn't immediately lose positions, but it was impossible for me to avoid a 0.5s penalty, which dropped me to P7, behind the Brazilian and a Colombian. That was a costly incident, as it put me in a battle I shouldn't have been in. Lost another two positions as I had to go wide into T1 to avoid a collision and I struggled on dirty tyres. So down to P9, it seemed like it was all going downhill. To make things worse, I planned to pit on lap 11, but had to go a lap earlier to minimize the time loss because I picked up another 0.5s penalty (this time, on my own) in the bus stop.

Exited the pits on P11. Gained a few places from people that hadn't yet pitted, from an incident ahead and the Brazilian, who spun on his own. Up to P6. Closed in on the Colombian ahead, but didn't have enough tyres at the end to challenge him.

P6 at the end. Without being hit in the bus stop and the couple of minor errors from my side, I think I would have been in the battle for 3rd that @D_Dragline had a few secs up the road (congrats for that P4!). Incident cost me 5th at the very least. 213 points scored, which aren't great for a combo where the Jag was quite competitive, but considering I just had one proper race and everything that happened in it, it could have been worse, I guess. Also, it means I now have scores over 200 on all 3 counting rounds.

That last slot was a good race. I had to reset my steering wheel halfway through as I spent 2 laps unable to reach full throttle. I think p2 would have been possible for me otherwise. The Lancer was surprisingly good at Daytona.

My 4th slot Americas race was ruined by the lowest, filthiest act imaginable on the run to the line. Car in front got a penalty at the bus stop and as I passed simply sideswiped me into the wall. I asked him via PSN why he cheated like that. In reply I got 2 pages of foul language and abuse, which I have reported. I fail to understand the anger issues some people have.

Was there some physics or BOP adjustments in the 1.17 update? I really felt the Corvette had sharper turn in and more rear grip than usual. Particularly exiting the horseshoe and Turn 6 in 2nd gear I usually have to be pretty careful on the throttle or I buzz the tires, but even on Hards in the race it felt like I could get on it quicker with less drama. Perhaps I've just gotten better 😅.

Plenty of Chevy's in the leaderboards. Jag was excellent too and I had a great battle for the win with two M6's. WRX still strong but they're getting there with the balance, very enjoyable run.

I’m not sure but I couldn’t get the DBR9 within 4 tenths of my best pre-update time.I felt like I was nailing laps but they just weren’t quite there.

Probably placebo, but there may be something in it.

At least the Guy took a huge 4 sec pen for it .
But honestly I would appreciate an instant SR decease for such behavior.
Thats true, and while i was glad he got the penalty, it really threw me off with my pace & things on that lap and i fell back to 8th, that respawn pd did after i was trying to get back on track messed me up as well on focusing

The Corvette already felt great to drive around there before the update. If anything my consistency on the Hards actually got worse after the update.

I experienced the same thing in the jag, a lot of purple to the bus stop, then would drop like 3 tenths.

Any hints at that name? Wouldnt happen to rhyme with slyqueen would it?

Yep, rhymes perfectly! (P3 for BMW in Americas region in case anyone else was wondering)

Edit: Glad it wasn't only me that would be quick with the Jag during all the rest of the lap, but just couldn't carry the same speed into that bus stop...

Should the World Series News not be pinned somehow? If you want to know which races there are this weekend you have to scroll down some pages of old news. Then you see todays race is "TBA", you get to the Forum thread and cant find anything again. A bit frustrating.

Just did the Watkins Glen Nations race. Seems the strat is to start on RH, box at the end of lap 1 to go on RM, then box on lap 10 or 11 for RS. That's what the pole sitter did anyway, and they converted to a win. I copied and gained a few spots, finishing 5th.

What's the fuel strategy? Is it just FM1 all the way?

I ran 9m1h6s for p5. The pole sitter in my race ran 7s9m. I wonder what he was thinking when he crossed the line 22 seconds clear of p2?

Ran a 1H/9M/6S strategy with a hitch. We were on auto drive for lap 1! Got let go approaching the next to last turn so pitted and started a 15 lap race on mediums. No idea what caused it but whatever. I was qualified p11 and easily off pace normally, but in the chaos I ended up stealing my lap on Hards. Pitted lap 10 for softs and was looking at p5, but clipped the chicane wrong and got a 1 second penalty that dropped me to p7. P5 and 6 got into a battle and collided trying to give each other space (they were legit both trying to ensure they didn't wreck the other) and cleared me back to p5. Last lap 2 ahead pit, I come out ahead of 1 and behind the other. End up p4 anyway.

No idea how bad the glitch affected things, but with my lack of once I'll take it. Consider it a stolen p4 for 181 points and I'm a filthy Thief. 1 and done not chancing it again. Good luck everyone. This one seems wild.

Ran 4 races, won 3. Only on pole once, ran to lap 9 on medium, soft to 15, then the last on hards and had no problems. The only race I lost was because I bottled it myself getting bored in clean air. Not to sound arrogant, but the lap 1 hard stop strategy didn't make sense to me. Whoever did it had to spend the race in a bunch of traffic and dirty air, I was just maintaining pace and building easy gaps.

That's my fault. Unfortunately I can't do Friday and Saturday night racing so I have distanced myself from the thread. @Famine : Any way I can hand the thread over to someone else who is willing to keep the first post updated with schedules?

On this version of the forum software we can't reassign posts/threads... so no. However, any moderator can edit your post to update it if you wish.

Alternatively, there's the news page. The "Gran Turismo World Series" tag contains all the relevant news, and the most recent one is still the WS R1 schedule:

You were in my race tonight. The 7pm slot. That race was a lot cleaner than I thought it was going to be.

Was happy to find pace in the BMW on a track I've struggled to get my head around so far. Started and finished in 5th. Ran as high as 2nd when the pitstops were playing out.

Was surprised to see the GT-R that started down in 12th come home for a podium. I never saw them in race, so they must've got past me during my last stop.

Thanks. I didnt realise there where News Tags. They are not to be seen on my mobile when i go to news.

I had to make a browser favourite. That should do it for me.

So do we get anything for competing below GT1? I was kinda hoping for some credits for my efforts. I finished 1st in Aus in super pleb GT3 league lol, seem to get nothing for it though, I guess it is only pleb league. I expect to get spanked next season when in GT2 or GT1 so just savouring this minor victory

You get the title of King Pleb to use as your new gamertag

I suppose aliens like you managed to finish in under 9 months?
I once managed to do a jigsaw puzzle that said 2-4 years in only 18 months.

At this stage, nobody knows.

The fact they're ranking people in each of the other leagues makes me hopeful there'll be GT2/GT3 champions and in-game prizes for the community for the marque/nationality of those drivers at the very least. Maybe they'll even do some invitational event or invite the guys who won along to the live events as spectators.

But potentially it's entirely meaningless.
