I have no idea what you mean, There have been many cases where they announce maintenance and then an update is released. There was nothing there that hinted at an update next week.

Where do you get update coming next week out of that? Seems like the update will come with the maintenance

I agree. Usually the update comes right after the maintenance period. I think you are wrong here @F1jocker12 as there is nothing that supports your claim in any of the announcements. The update will follow the maintenance period tomorrow....99.99% sure. (always gotta leave the chance for something unordinary to happen, cause PD )

I have a feeling they are rushing into it. There is too much content at one time... Anyway.. expect bugs... They will not say anything about the update because if something comes up, they still can delay it... but if something promised whole community will be disappointed! Surprise, surprise... That's how great customer service works...

They haven't released anything for a few months so I think this is enough for the current wait.

I totally agree, but there is a new track, VGT cars (alpine and Lexus), B-Spec, painting spoiler feature... hmmm... they also want to be sure the game functions properly under normal online or offline load... It's good they release the BSpec, because in the summer they can deliver the Course Maker, add the app for it and done... That is the schedule for 2015!

agree.
They released something at 99,9% ,but not all the features that they had prepared , a sort like the redbullring or the goodwood's upgrade, 'cause the vgt's are set for March.

I'm not sure what makes you the expert here, but I still say the update will be released tomorrow after the maintenance is over. That's how its worked most of the time in the past and I don't expect anything different to change tomorrow. This is just my opinion based on previous events....I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

There are some courses where I'm just a really crappy driver (actually more than I care to admit). And there are some cars that are a real SOB to control. For that alone, I'm thankful for B-Spec

It is a win win situation anyway... Just saying - get ready! Funny thing... I like doubters - they are like kids in the dark. I am not the expert! Tomorrow ... I'll take that!!!!!!

I wonder if camber will be fixed again (sarcasm) along with massive changes in the physics of MR's (sarcasm) or overall physics (sarcasm). The Undocumented Changes Thread is going to be crazy after such a long time between updates.:crazy::crazy:

And you'll be there to capture it all :sly:

Man I just hope that the b-spec is just like it was in GT4 so for races I can start driving to get ahead, then let BOB take over once I get the lead myself. I am also hoping they add endurance mode/series after the S class events. I feel the B-spec/A-spec combination would be better used for those really long races. just my opinion though.

As far as switching drivers of the existing races only those in S would make any sense as you would likely loose any of the others if you pulled into the pits to swap drivers. If they add longer races and that is a big if then it would be more worthwhile for sure.

For a non-Engrish translation:

How about gathering any stars that you might have missed? The prizes, lap counts, and tyre regulations are all identical to A-Spec.

It's also ideal for the extremely difficult Red Bull X Challenges. And it will allow beginners to attempt some of the other difficult events in the game.

I hope you'll look forward to the update!

Translated by me.
I think it is safe to say that we are not getting any Endurance events, unless a bunny hops out of PoDi's magical hat of tricks. I don't think we'll be able to use B-Spec in the Driving Missions or Coffee Breaks, so what is this going to add for the people who have completed this game 100%? Am I to try B-Spec a few times then return to playing another game?

If, at the very least, they could add tire & fuel consumption to Arcade Mode to allow for a good use of the B-Spec feature, I'd be very happy, but sometimes I forget who I'm dealing with here despite all the welcomed developments.

/angst

This and real length endurance races and i would be a happy chappy!!!

Spent a LOT of time using that mode in GT4, B-spec in GT5 was far too boring and pointless for me, why try to fix what isn't broken????

I can see GT8 now.

~Starting movie rolls~

Press start to complete game.

Congratulations!

~Ending credits roll~

You have earned a trophy: Gran Turismo 8 Platinum Trophy.

Completionist's heaven.

This post is satire and is in no way intended to reflect the true nature of GT8. Any resemblance to past, present or future games is purely coincidental. Anyone taking this seriously will be mocked mercilessly. ;)
Still to difficult. Bob will press the button for you ;)
Many people, myself included, had been waiting for the implementation of a B-Spec system at least as good as GT5's. With the ability to seemingly assume control of the B-Spec driven car and the removal of a B-Spec racing team to manage, this seems to be a considerably simplified and scaled back B-Spec mode. Excuse some of us that were enthusiastic about this update for expressing their disappointment.
I wanted b spec since GT6 was release, because i had high hopes and thought PD would bring back real endurance races with it. I should have known better and expected nothing :(

Well I have to say, I'm not sure what took 15 months to release B-spec, since if anything it's significantly cut down from GT5's B-spec.

You don't have a selection of drivers, can't hire and fire, can't give them names, no variations in 'talent' or emotions, can't tell them to calm down or get more aggressive, no way for your driver(s) to gain skill and experience, can't race your Bobs against your friend's Bobs and earn money, Bob still has the same bad habits as always and is still very slow even at his fastest pace and with real time inputs, no seperate B-spec career races.

The only non-real time instruction your can give Bob are 3 different pace settings, anything else you have to do yourself in real time. With that being the case, you might as well do the driving yourself.

First impressions:

-Positive: AI doesn't slow to a halt if you leave him alone like in GT5.

-Negative: Still drives like a complete 🤬 I just watched him spend a whole lap on the rear bumper of an SL500 in a GT-R Black around Tokyo (100 PP advantage).
