This thread is killing me. I am trying so hard not to buy BF4 at launch for the 360 since I have so many other games to play. But I love BF3 so much. *must avoid thread* *comes back in* nOoo!!!
 
Battle Reports were not showing up last night. All of them were present this morning. I have some work to do at becoming a better player. :ill:

Does the elevator actively move up and down? When I'm inside I can tell it doesn't actually move because the distance between objectives, squad members don't change until just before the door opens.

Just watched a video on YouTube, the elevator teleports on the PC version also. The commentator not only pointed it out, but I was able to see what you were talking about.

Video 5 of 12. Again, all recorded and uploaded in 1080p. Captured at only 30fps, however, due to the limitations of FRAPS.



The commentary you hear is from some of the guys in my squad on our TS Server.
 
Youtube videos are limited to 30 fps anyway, so unless you wanted to do super slow-mo more FPS wouldn't help all that much.

Not sure. BF3 Beta ended a week prior to the actual release. I'll be curious if this will be the same.

It still says unavailable on the EU store.
I'm not a PS plus member but It's open to everyone right,today?

EDIT:checked PS blog,says open beta october 4th.

Well thank god this works instead of GTA. Having fun so far. Figuring out the XM25 airburst was a bit weird but I think it's one of my faves now.
 
I have not used the XM25 enough to understand how the thing works. However, I did read a bit about how the XM25 works. Apparently, you aim, it locks onto a length, then you fire, and once the projectile hits the locked length, the airbust explodes. Is that about the process?
 
Oh Man, bf4 Layout on Vehicles is just weird :\. Its harder now.. Gas and Reverse with L3 :(. Up and down with L3 for Choppers :\.
 
I'm starting to warm up to the game now. It helps that I nailed a chopper with an RPG as I was sitting inside a chopper.

I've noticed some issues, like damage not registering, latency issues, soldiers appearing to be invulnerable or even sinking into the floor.
 
I have four defib kills so far, two repair tool kills and two RPG Chopper kills. I am not very orthodox. :lol:
 
I knifed a guy, and during the animation, I was shot down. Oddly enough, the game kind of glitched, screen went black, and I ended up half way across the map. At first I thought I got switched to the other team, but that was not the case. I got the knife kill, and my death was never registered.
 
Thanks for the videos, guys. They're gorgeous. I'm dying a little inside not being able to experience the same thing with my PC.
 
Yeah, that sucks man, but that's what beta is for....to work out these optimization issues. A buddy of mine is getting better results with his single card instead of with crossfire. I'm surprised I have SLI support on day one of the beta and he's having issues with his ATI/AMD product that is endorsing the game. :)

Anyways, take your internal resolution slider down and it should let you raise some of your other settings up.

My thoughts so far from the one game I played on PS3.

I don't like it. I don't like the changes to the control layout. I don't like select being a battlelog action instead of scoreboard. I don't like the points/kill display. Everything is too cluttered and hard to distinguish.

You can change the controls for on foot and vehicles back to normal (like what they were in BF3) by selecting the Veteran button layout in options.

Anyway, Im impressed with the beta so far, I wasn't holding out for much for the current Gen beta but it plays well and it doesn't look to shabby aswell really.

That helps so much! I kept on messing up in close quarter combat situations.
