So you want PP 600 for Tomahawk S ?

Here it is.

TL;DR: You can win but much more difficult and demanding. Buy a Tomahawk X.

I was messing with differentials but I think default would work, you probably could able to change differential values without throwing PP away. Maybe. And the blue digits in transmission could mean that it was saved as adjacent value but changed by the game when I open the tune sheet, I can't make it disappear, so hope you can actually dial in these numbers ...

Have you tried fully upgrading the intake and exhaust options?
In my experience, fully upgrading those and lowering the power restrictor setting gives better performance.

I bought the NSX for this race but haven't played with it much. 2:11 is pretty exciting. So far the R8 2:10 is my benchmark car.

I did 2:11 in a 911 GT3 (997) ;)

Here's another car I can recommend. I got a way better result than the Genesis:

Important notes:

- Install just the rear wing. No widebody, no rear diffuser.

Strategy:

- Shift at 8k rpm.

- Draft behind AI.

- Pit at Lap 9.

Fastest lap done: 2:11.xxx

The result:

Yes, using Risky_Replicant for the GR.4 NSX seams to be the best one that I've found that's not a exploit

The car is stable to drive, doesn't require a pit stop or even setting the fuel map to lean.

It was either this or the super glitched Tomahawk that could potentially have consequences if used excessively...

For some weird reason I get an exclamation rather than the 595PP trying out the same settings shown for the SRT Tomahawk X. Could this mean they patched it already?

Just mess around with the gear ratios, or switch tires, that will fix it.

No they haven't. It does that when I was setting the car up. Just keep fiddling with the ECU and power restrictor until the numbers show up.

Hello, i use google translate, sorry if I make mistakes!

I share my new build with more HP (CV) SRT Tomahawk X VGT (600 PP) for Tokyo Expressway:

V.1 - 2496 CV / 753 KG (596,39 PP) Start Racing Hard

V.2 - 2496 CV / 753 KG (580,50 PP) Start Racing Intermediate

I play GT7 with PS5 controller and I prefer to use my build V.2 for semplicity in the first 4 laps in the wet, very easy:

(V.2)
  • TCS 5 / Automatic Gearbox (controller)
  • Start Racing Intermediate
  • Economy 6
  • Before starting the 5 lap enter for pit stop
  • Change tires with Racing Medium
  • Fuel up to the point raccomended by the game
  • Always Economy 6
  • Finish the race fast with these tires

17 minutes (the time in the screen) with controller PS5 + 1 PIT STOP is a good result but I'm sure it can be improved.

Thanks to everyone who is working on improving this car for this event in this topic, I'm waiting for your feedback, thanks!

Hello,

New build SRT Tomahawk X VGT (600 PP) for Tokyo Expressway:

V.3 - 2496 CV / 753 KG (598,65 PP) Start Racing Medium

  • Economy 6
  • No Pit Stop (High fuel consumption, do not use automatic transission and controller)
  • Manual Gearbox to save fuel (wheel)
  • Use DRS on the straight

For automatic transission and controller you can use my version V.2 (1 Pit Stop / 17 minutes easy)

I'm waiting for your feedback, thanks!

Back in the normal world, I did this in a Huracan. Fitted a Wing and sport mediums and brought the power down to fit the PP. Put fuel on 4 or 5 the whole way and didn't pit.

Coming out the final hairpin, I had the RX7 right behind me. I had 0.2 of a lap of fuel left, so I went all in and whacked it up to 1. Ran out of fuel 30 metres short.

No fuel. Finish line there. RX7 there.

Mate, that is one close finish!
Dunno if I can ever farm Cr. on this track using a "normal" car after using the Tomahawk and doing it in 17 mins.

I tried it, still nothing.
Judging by the thread on Reddit, it's different for everyone. I have it below 600pp and it's not using ballast. It took me a while of tweaking the top 3 gear ratios to get it. And switching between IM and RH

You will after they patch it. LOL. I can’t confirm no deny whether I have used the Tomahawk on this track…but I have done it in “normal” cars and had an absolute blast.

People joke about how bad the AI is with the Tomahawk, but it’s clear that you aren’t supposed to have a 300+ MPH car on there. Imagine switching lanes and suddenly having a 300 mph rocket ship coming up behind you!

They shouldn't be swerving down the straight in the first place, and it does say in Beyond the Apex, racing etiquette:

If there's a faster car coming up from behind, you should yield the racing line. Refusing to do so by abruptly changing your line and obstructing chasing cars is dangerous, and could lead to collisions.

Get into the habit of checking your rear view mirror regularly, and smoothly yield the racing line to any faster cars that are coming up from behind. In 'Touring Car' races, you can use your indicators to show other drivers that you are changing your line.

But of course racing etiquette is not for AI, lapped cars never ever move over lol.

Anyway for Tokyo, when they swerve in your path, try to hit them dead on if not able to avoid anymore. That at least reduces the risk of a wall penalty. You can hit lapped cars as much as you want, just a bit of temporary aero and wheel damage, the CRB can't be lost. I tried, taking my frustrations out on the AI one race. I had them flying, hitting one dead on at 450 kph feels rather satisfying. My wheels got a bit wobbly, rattling the car making it feel like the Tomahawk was shaking apart, yet 30 sec and back to pristine condition. Plenty penalties, and if you block them in the penalty zone you get engine damage. That only seems to trigger when hit from behind. Not that that matters either. Still finished in 19 minutes with CRB

Thankyou for this setup - been running the V2 setup and strategy so far.

Just ran it 5 times and managed a clean race bonus on all and was getting total race time down under 17 minutes.

Making life alot easier and can buy some cars I really want now.

Seems I recreated it from your description, looks like the mechanism is that (automatic) transmission would got confused and downshifts back to 2nd gear as soon as it shifted into 3rd gear. I changed to manual transmission during race ...

Other gear ratios won't keep constant when you adjusting so just repeatedly fiddle with them and press triangle until it's under 600 (?)

Edit: Use 9.619 / 9.185 / 8.663 for Sport Soft / Race Intermediate which should much easier to control on first half of race where the surface is wet. The PP of SS/IM are the same but somehow for me SS can survive entire race with some remaining, IM would wore out after ~10 laps. Didn't want to promote exploiting but we can take the chance for some experiment.

Edit 2: Added screenshots for SS/IM config and adjusted 6th gear. Use fuel map 2, cruise with 5/6 gear and you won't need to pit at all. Actually it's possible to throttle through the entire bottom half curving section without braking, from hairpin to hairpin ... but it's extremely risky.

Edit 3: As per Fh1520 said:

And the crucial point is that transmission values before the slash must be exact the same, the value after slash is the max speed of that gear and may be different if you're using imperial unit.
This worked perfectly for me. Thanks a ton.
Driving : manual transmission
No Fuel stop needed
Lapped at least three times

Drove first section till the extreme hairpin turn at the end in 4th and 5th gear
Took the hairpin turn on 4th gear
Drove the straights on 5th -> 6th -> majorly 7th gear
then rapid down shift to 4th gear at the end of the straight.

It's kinda addictive trying to get the perfect run. Now I know about DRS I can get my lap times down to 1:09, and using 7th gear more in the wriggly bit, less fuel to take in at the pit stop for mediums. Last night my best race time was 15:32, but that was still without DRS and almost sucking the tank dry twice by staying in 6th, with 1:11 fastest laps.

The AI does get harder to pass every time you lap them, more spread out yet sometimes 3 wide next to each other. At least it's not a boring way to grind for credits and at 3 mil per hour, not that painful to try to keep up with the LCD. Legend custom race grids for endurance races is the goal. But shouldn't it be time for GR.C cars to show up. Hopefully no more 20 mil cars, that's still almost 7 hours of grinding. I rather do an 8H endurance race, yet you lose credits on that lol.
