That's awesome. First time I see the game allowing all tires but Race Hards on race entry. You can't switch to them before the race starts but I guess you cant pit for mediums or softs when the track dries.
Yes, although I just run the intermediates the whole race without pitting. Don’t know if pitting to change tires is worth it (might be though!), I didn’t lose that much time per lap even when the tires went red (then again, I’m not that fast to begin with), just had to brake a tad bit earlier.

I can't seem to manage to get this race done by virtue of how the penalty thing works. After finally getting into 1st, Kokubun's RX-7 (which suddenly becomes ridiculously fast after Gallo's second NSX pit, the previous ridiculously fast competitor) braked late into a bend on the last lap and pushed me into a wall. I got a 5s penalty but managed to get back ahead. I enter the penalty zone, same RX-7 slams into the back of me, pitching me into a spin. I get another 5s penalty and severe rear damage. I manage to limp across the line in 2nd place with my car not wanting to go in a straight line at all, but because of the penalty I get dumped down to 3rd after the fact.

Being pushed into the wall by another car to force give me a penalty on the last lap has happened twice now, but this time was particularly ridiculous with it specifically slamming into me in the penalty zone too. The penalties for wall contact are inconsistent enough as it is, but why does it insist on giving them when the AI is the one specifically and aggressively causing it? I know why of course - bad design.

I use my Mitsubishi GTO I use for every other 600pp event, SS tyres, medium turbo with weak anti-lag, to stay under 600pp, various other parts, pitting once at the end of lap 7.

I'm going flat out, seems a bit easier to avoid the 5 sec penalties for tapping the inside wall. That thing is so twitchy on controller at speed. With pit stop, bunch of penalties, hitting the AI, still below 18 minutes and clean race bonus.

On intermediates my best so far is 1:17 lap, on mediums 1:15. I can go faster, just got to remember you can take most of the back section flat out, and not tap the inside wall lol. Plus a break in the middle, get tires and fuel and go. It's not a long wait for the pit stop at Tokyo (8 sec to reach the pit box vs 32 sec on Sarthe)

That 20 mil car is in reach now, 2,750,000 per hour is do-able.

Seems I recreated it from your description, looks like the mechanism is that (automatic) transmission would got confused and downshifts back to 2nd gear as soon as it shifted into 3rd gear. I changed to manual transmission during race ...

Other gear ratios won't keep constant when you adjusting so just repeatedly fiddle with them and press triangle until it's under 600 (?)

Edit: Use 9.619 / 9.185 / 8.663 for Sport Soft / Race Intermediate which should much easier to control on first half of race where the surface is wet. The PP of SS/IM are the same but somehow for me SS can survive entire race with some remaining, IM would wore out after ~10 laps. Didn't want to promote exploiting but we can take the chance for some experiment.

Edit 2: Added screenshots for SS/IM config and adjusted 6th gear. Use fuel map 2, cruise with 5/6 gear and you won't need to pit at all. Actually it's possible to throttle through the entire bottom half curving section without braking, from hairpin to hairpin ... but it's extremely risky.
Alright king!!!! 👑

I did not do a full race yet, only 2-3 laps testing.Looks like its recommended to start with anything else than intermediates? Will the track dry over time?I don‘t want to go the tomahawk route,i have quite some money and not interested to pay ridiculous prices for legendary cars.I want a fun race but don‘t mind to win of course.

How did you manage to put inters on and keep below the 600 limit?See my post above,im flumoxed as to how to use anything other than RH and keep under the limit!

That Tomahawk exploit is absolutely nuts. 😅

About 2.5 million credits per hour? That's pretty good. In fact, there should be at least one championship in this game that gives at least this much. With the current total cost of cars, 2.5 to 3 million an hour would be the ideal.

Only the first two laps , you have to be easy on the throttle. Third lap onwards , full speed. It was so grippy. I used RH. The brakes are incredible !!

Just did a few of these in the, ahem, very appropriate vehicle for this event, the Tomahawk X. Don't ever need to visit the pitbox, the tires are stable all the way through, and anything below fuel map 6 feels a little too ridiculous in my opinion. For some reason, the Sport Softs were the most durable tires, somehow, all the while, providing solid grip. Not to mention the brakes on this thing, jeez louise. Overall, I am surprised that the driver hasn't turned into a pancake.

It's tedious, mind-numbing, but it did give me a cool 5 million in like 2 hours or so. Will continue the grind tomorrow, might even nab the McLaren F1 in the Legendary Dealer while I'm at it.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my fastest lap time, 1:15.539. It can go quicker, but I am slightly hesitant to push this thing through corners on such a narrow course.

Race always starts as slightly wet after rain and slowly dries.
Id suggest Audi R8 for some fun.. i did 1 weight reduction, all performance upgrades except suspension.. no aero parts.. no transmission changes.. used Sports Hards.

You can throw a lot of upgrades on it and be under the pp limit.

Im also not a fan of the tomahawk route, its not for me.

How?When i euipe inters or SS or anything other than RH the pp symbol shows a triangle with exclamation mark.Even if i back out then enter settings it still shows the same triangle.Everything else works with RH pp down to a bonkers 595.What am i doing wrong? All the figures are the same as in the screenshots.
I change it during the race screen, through car settings.

Oh, if it’s only 8 secs it should be worth it! I’ll try pitting and trying mediums next round. Sweet, go get it! 😃👍

Question for those using the Tomahawk X “Special Time Attack on wet track with obstacles for free credits” : What’s your average lap time? I’m running 1:29 on average, just want to compare times 😄
On sport mediums the lowest ive got is 1:40

LOL. How is this even possible.

@ND4SPD @NickGuy | I had the same issue. Try to make a new setting sheet and start from scratch. Start with the racing hard tires and move your way down. It worked for me afterwards.
yeah that still doesnt work for me, no tire works besides sports medium /:

I did it with the Diablo GT with sports ECU and sports silencer. Thing is sluggish to turn but goes fast on the straights, enough to overtake half of the grid on first lap.

Got 2nd with the Tuscan. I was pulling 2:19's but it was a no pit race on SM tires. I crossed on fumes and had to cut the mix back pretty hard on the last lap to get there. I know there is something to this car so I'll consider that a starting point in my quest for 1st. It's got the power and it's lite on the tires so I'm confident I will find a way.

See @zacscy's post
Cheers mate, strangely enough i added ballast at 100kg and pp went up to around 1244,dropped it bit by bit and settled on 82kg at 547pp with inters. It makes no sense at all,81kg shoots it up to around 1200,back to 82 it is then.👍

This race doesn’t appear in my World Circuits. I received the other 1.11 updates. Is there something I need to do to unlock it? I bought the Dodge but I don’t see the race. Thanks!

You don't need to pit at all, and your fuel map can be at 1 from start to finish.

The only thing you need to do, is to upshift earlier and do the back side of the circuit flatout in 7th gear. The only times you need to brake is after the main straight, Turn 1, and on the last corner (hairpin), you don't need to brake anywhere else, full throttle, you don't even need to lift, but of course, if you want to avoid penalties, maybe lifting in some corners could be better.

My best lap so far has been a 1:09.XXX. I do the entire track on 4th gear and above, mostly on 7th gear (which allows you to save fuel and the car still has amazing acceleration). Every time I have the opportunity I use DRS to get as much laptime as I can.

For anyone else who needs help with this, check it out here:

I've just had a very fun and simple win with an extremely simple setup:
Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
Power Restrictor - 91%
that's it.
Even without all of it's horses, it gallops to 320km/h without effort, has immense grip in the rain, and makes a wonderful howl all the while.
I consistently had 2:14 and 2:15 laps, though my Opt time was somehow faster than Gallo's best lap (i think my Optimal was 2:11.8?!)
Ful power all the way, no fuel conservation, pitted on lap 6. Fresh tyres weren't as grippy as I thought so I had a bump and a 5 second penalty, but I caught the leader on lap 10 and won by 8 seconds or so.

Oh and apparently, hitting the back of lapped cars still still give you CRB. I was so mad at one of the backmarkers and accidentally smacked it and real hard and spun him, but still gets the clean race Hehe

If you're using the Tomahawk, then...it REALLY doesn't matter if you pit or not. I kept the fuel where it was aty 1/6 and still finished like 3 laps ahead of everyone.
