1:25? 2 seconds ahead of the leaders?

Guess my tune is pretty good, uh? Just call me "Magic Mitch":lol:

Seriously though, thanks for the kind words gentlemen and glad you found my tune useful. 👍

@yannagas Your welcome and no problem at all, wish I could do more for you with all the knowledge and help you have given me lately. You are a great asset to the community.

I'll be honest here, in GT5 the 1-Series tii was one of my favorite drift cars. It had excellent handling and an awesome powerband that just made it really comfortable to get sideways. However, something in GT6 just makes it feel odd to me. After I used lisanorm's setup, it became a lot more like what it used to be in GT5.

I get what you're saying. I don't think I've driven the tii enough before to get a before'n'after feel feel for it but I thought compared to a lot of cars it its class it felt great. Oddly enough though when I was driving it I though it felt like a pretty nice car for drifting. But I only ever did the drift seasonals so I didn't get much into actually setting a car up for drift.

@GTP_CargoRatt Had a try at your tune Magic Mitch:cheers:, and almost immediately shaved 1.4 seconds off my test car time, now at 1:30.0xx. about 0.7 behind you. however the suspension and LSD setup although fast on straits and able to carry speed through turns also, is quite loose and picky for my driving style, and I guess you're using AS to tighten it and keep it under control.
have you tried to make a non AS version? I've been following your tunes lately and it seems you always come up with "magic" toe settings that are fast on straits as well as coast superbly. I remember the first time I saw that LCC Rocket tune of yours with those exaggerated negative toe numbers I said WTF??? When i tried it I was amazed! Is it a "fly by the seat of your pants" as you say thing, or a more straight forward process? Anyway great job:tup:

thanks Lisanorm+CargoRatt: mixed tune 1.28.8xx
@Lorenzo1201 Can you tell us what parts of the two tunes you mixed?

EDIT: 29.6xx starting to mod the suspension and lsd, I think Madrid is getting addictive :)

@cargoratt: A superb tune for my driving style. Many thanks for posting it. Down to 1:26.499.
I'm a little bit confused so forgive me if I seem rude...how are you 1:26.499? the leader (escama1) is @ 1:27.260. ??? We are talking madrid in the bmw concept 1 series tii super lap...yes?

For what it's worth, I've been getting my best laps with this tune in progress. I'm new to tuning, so I would welcome all feedback.

Just published my tune in the GTPlanet tuning database here. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/resources/bmw-concept-1-series-tii-07.40/

Its a very loose but fast tune and care should be taken with both throttle and brake inputs. My current time with the tune is 1'29.363 in 35th place atm, still very early in the event. There is still a lot of improvement out there for me, just have to string it all together. Good luck everyone.

Please be sure to "Rate This Resource" on the link above, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I used your tune but didn't use active steering or SRF and I'm at a 1:33.024 and I know I can improve more. Great tune! 👍

Thank you and glad the tune worked for you. 👍 Kudos to you for not using the aids, great job.
I tried using the SRF once with this and purposefully invalidated the lap by hitting a barrier and got a 1:30.xxx so if I wanted to I could be closer 👍

I have no doubt you could. 👍 Again, great job for sticking to the no aids, that's to be admired.

Thanks for the tune Cargo it feels good 👍 I currently have a 128.707, I am running mid 23's in the first sector which is competitive but cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong in the second sector. Somehow I am losing 7 to 8 tenths there and am just about getting under 53 seconds for the second sector :ouch:

Anybody have any tips for that sector? Please don't tell me I need to use the handbrake, I find it hard to get used to, i've tried it once before.

Great time by the way Doodle, I watched your replay and wondered how you could be so quick through T1 with what looks to be a fairly average turn 2, was that a mistake or is running that wide what you consider to be the fastest way around there? The rest of your lap is good though. :)

I did use active steering as I was using your tune Cargo, will it in any way be slowing me down? I am not that familiar with it but the car seems to feel a fair bit tighter with it on, if so I will have a run with it off tomorrow

Thanks for the positive words regarding my tine and glad it helped you. As for Active Steering, no, it will not slow you down. It will actually help you go faster in most cases by controlling the oversteer. If you wish to run with it off and you find the car is too lose for you, the first thing you can do is turn down the Acc. Sensitivity setting and that should help with the oversteer. Start by lowering it by 3 clicks...test....repeat. 👍

I hit a wall (the figurative one, not the ones that disqualify laps) with my own tune in the high 1:31's (my driving skills need lots of help). So then I tried CargoRatt's with SFR and Steering Assist (never used that before). 1:30:750. I feel dirty for having used the assists, but the tune definitely works!!!

But now I'm frustrated. I've cut as much as 0.770 off the first sector, but I lose the advantage later in the lap for some reason. I guess I need to learn how to drive before I'll hit the 1:29's.

I'm having the same problem! I'm finally hitting mid-high 23's in the first sector (which is more than 0.60 better than my best lap), but crossing the finish about 0.120 slower than my best lap.

Decided to try using Active Steering (mild), as mentioned on this page, for the first time and after 1/2 dozen laps have improved to 1:30.235 for pos# 260, down from over # 500 when I started.
Should have started without Active Steering first for comparison however it's too late now.
And by coincidence, have been in front of Cargo at the 'big' turn at the top L/hander and then also at the R/hander after the 'big' left turn at the bottom. I think it's turn 5, again.
And I know mate, it's how you cross the finish line which counts, ha ha. You'll see me right behind you and even in front of you during this one.

Am now at 245th place with a time of 1:30.182, DS3, TC1, ABS 1

I use the following set up;

SUSPENSION
Ride Height 95 / 80
Spring Rate 6.28 / 9.40
Dampers Comp 4 / 6
Dampers Ext 7 / 6
Anti-Roll Bars 4 / 5
Camber 0.4 / 0.0
Toe Angle -0.10 / -0.25
Racing Brakes 6 / 8

TRANSMISSION
Final gear tO 3.500 (saw that with you Cargoratt, but that's the only thing I copied!:D), max speed to 200, then set the gears
1 4.655
2 3.334
3 2.524
4 1.979
5 1.622
6 1.375
Final 2.700

LSD 5 / 17 / 5

POWER
Power Limiter 89%
Racing Exhaust
Catalytic Converter: Sports

Weight Reduction Stage 3

As usual, I'm everything but an experienced tuner but this worked for me. Will now also try the active steering to see if I can improve my time!

My girlfriend is in town with her family and on the piss, I don't do that anymore but she's over 20 years younger than me so that's cool.

Update......1:30.137 pos #235, I'm with Cargo until the big L/hander before the twisty r/l/r which runs up to the finish.

That's using Active Steering set at mild.

I would like to have more power going around that 'big' L/hander in 2nd, tried 1st but with the gears I'm using it doesn't help.
I really can't believe I'm sticking with Cargo for so long on this one.

You'll get more torque using isometric exhaust manifold and tuned intake, with standard exhaust. The gearing on my tune (above) works well with that.

I'll certainly look at that tomorrow Jbaffoh, thanks.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but I haven't put in much of an effort here except for tuning. I've been busy setting up cars for these TT's so I haven't put any serious effort into any of them yet. So, don't worry, by the time I'm done, you won't even be able to see me. :sly:

EDIT: After a short run before the NASCAR race, down to 1'29.071

why is it when I put the cup paint on the car it's a second slower? I thought matte was the new thing in fluid dynamics. The painter apparently didn't sand down the original coat.

I gave it a go without active steering and managed to find another 3 tenths, the car seems better for it through sector 2 but I am struggling in other certain areas. The last corner is a huge struggle as is turn 2 as well.

Will give it another go later on or tomorrow, I need to find better lines through a couple of the turns as I am dropping to much speed. I currently have a 128.416, I am hoping to at least get into the 127s but it has always been a track I struggle with.

Ha ha, that's what I like about you Cargo, you're so modest.

Just messing with you my good friend...not trying to sound elitist at all. Matter of fact, you're like the only one I speak to like that, just because of our playful banter. 👍 Also, I was speaking the truth, I haven't put in any serious effort as the times you see, up until my last edit, were done while I was just trying to work out the tunes.

EDIT: 1'28.882 in 62nd place atm. Leaving at much as .450 out there....that damn last chicane is killing me. :banghead:
