Classic tracks from GT1-4

Every track from the series thus far should be included in GT6. If we aren't going to get prettier graphics we need content. Massive amounts of content.

I don't know if it was in GT4 as 4 is the only GT I never bought (cancelled my pre-order when online was cancelled since I was already into racing online and wasn't going back), but the track I most want back was in GT PSP, and that's Cathedral Rocks Trail. The whole track, with the dirt and the pavement is a really fun track and I would LOVE to be able to play it online.

I also REALLY want to see visually updated versions of Grand Canyon and Tahiti Maze.

I wanted SSR11 in GT4. Was disappointed.
I wanted SSR11 in GT5. Was disappointed.
I want SSR11 in GT6.

I also would like the other pure fantasy and the real street based circuits (except New York and Paris George, which are terrible). Some of the hybrid fantasy/reality street courses (Citta di Aria, Old Rome Circuit, Costa di Amalfi, Grindelwald, Tahiti Road, El Capitan) are quite good, but don't really fit in with reality or fantasy. How would such courses fit into the game?

So let's see, I'd like to see again...
Pure Fantasy
Rome Night (not based in a real location)
Apricot Hill Raceway
Driving Park Motorland
Midfield Raceway
Complex String
Red Rock Valley
SSR11

Street Circuits

Seoul Central
Seattle (should need modifications for recent construction)
Hong Kong (should need modification to be more realistic)
Opera Paris

I'd like to see all the old original tracks back in GT6 and would prefer to have them over real world tracks as I can go and drive Spa/Silverstone/Suzuka/Monza in other games/sims.

I want to slap everybody not mentioning them wanting cita di aria, SLAP!!!!!

I loved Aria too but given the nature of the new track-generator and in particular that town environment, I think Amalfi and Aria are the two old circuits least likely to return.

This thread just goes to show, though, that you don't have to copy real life circuits to come up with memorable and exciting ones in a game/sim. This obsession with digitally recreating dull tracks just because they exist in real life is mad.

yeah, in games that drive like utter crap. Gran Turismo is literally the only somewhat realistic driving game that I find enjoyable without a wheel/pedals on the PS3 and since I'll be using a DS3 for the foreseeable future that's pretty critical to me. The more tracks the better, original and real world.

What sinbad said, Citta di Aria is probably the track I currently miss most in GT5 but that new Andalucia map might make Citta di Aria not just a bit 'obsolete' but with the possibilities of creating your own paths through it, potentially epic on a whole new level.

Other GT4 tracks I really miss are El Capitan/Cathedral Rocks (basically one map), Grand Canyon, Seattle and Infineon Raceway.
And I'd love a modern version of Grindelwald.

I would love to have Infineon (both layouts), Midfield, Apricot Hill, Red Rock Valley, El Capitan! Those would be ALL I would need to go gaga

like Eiger Nordwand ?

SagarisGTB

Loving the idea of keeping them as current as reasonably possible. Players who live in or travel to those cities would really appreciate and enjoy that. 👍

+1 to all those asking for some of the classic Rally courses. Swiss Alps, Smokey Mountain, Tahiti, Grand Canyon, Pikes Peak!, Cathedral Rocks, Green Forest Roadway- and all of their delicious variants. :)

Just imagine Green Forest with the updated looks and physics of GT6, 8 cars on track duking it out in a bonkers rallycross battle.

Out of curiosity, do they count the rally track as tracks when mentioning the amount of tracks for the gt games?

like Eiger Nordwand ?
Sort of. Eiger only put roads where there is none, it's not really much of a stretch. A track could be built there in theory and it could be identical or near-identical to Eiger Nordwand in GT5. I suppose El Capitan might be like that also, I'm not sure.

But Citta di Aria and Costa di Amalfi are inspired greatly by Assisi and Capri respectively, but in no way are they close to being accurate or realistic. Likewise with Grindelwald, though I've never personally been there before. Unlike Seattle, these courses cannot follow real roads (or even lay down new tarmac on existing terrain) and resemble their GT2 or GT4 counterparts.

PD haven't done any such things for GT5 street tracks, I think they've tried to make locations as real as possible. I think the biggest alteration they've done is removing center curbs from Via di San Gregorio in Rome Circuit and in London. Could be signs of a new philosophy.

I don't understand your point here. The Eiger Nordwand Track isn't remotely believable as a motorsports venue from any era, at all. I'm thinking the ridiculous jumps, and the consequences of overshooting any corner in the first sector of the track. Far less believable than any of the circuits you mentioned. For instance;

Grindelwald is completely believable as a classic Grand Prix circuit. See Spa Francorchamps pre-1973, Brno-Masaryk Ring even in 1986, or Solitude. Same for El Capitan and Tahiti Road.

Formula One has gone to really fast street circuts like Montjuich Park in Spain, which would've yielded faster speeds than the old Rome Circuit. In fact the old Rome Circuit is a more believable, courtesy of the new circuit having that ridiculously narrow and fast chicane without run-off.

Costa di Amalfi and Citta di Aria, whilst hopeless for actually racing/passing, do reflect what sections of track at events like Pescara and Targa Florio would've been like.

So I don't quite see your point. I'd rather a good, believable fictional track rather than a painstakingly accurate one that is utterly useless for decent racing (e.g. London).

Well, there were 59 tracks in GT4 (just for an example), and PD announced over 50 tracks. Knowing that there are 7 dirt & snow tracks and 3 "special condition" tracks (Amalfi, Aria and Paris), and 59-10=49, and 49<50, yeah, they announce rally tracks too.

I don't care what people say, because no man has to pay for their Red Rock Valley Speedway! It's in the Constitution, people! Read it! One is not liable to pay for any Downloadable Content that was on earlier games. Forza Motorsport was put on court because of that (FM4 Porsche DLC), and they got lucky because EA is a bi...g meanie.:lol: Just kidding.

It's not on the Constitution, but it's still a law of gaming. And many corporations don't respect it.

On the other hand, I might love and stand for tracks like Rome, Città di Aria and SSR11, but the new stuff I saw in the trailer (probably not final stuff) is looking juicy. Mmmm... That Ronda (in Spain) track... All I want now is the Estoril circuit. We have Estoril Blue, we have Macau (ex-portuguese territory) Yellow, we just need something more PORTUGUESE...

Would love to see the original HSR and SS Route 11, Rome Night, and Red Rock Valley. Red Rock was awesome, it was like an oval on steroids. And even though Grindelwald and Eiger are set in similar locales, Grindelwald was much better as an overall circuit. Aria or Amalfi would also be nice, I actually really enjoyed the duel races in GT4's rally mode.

Grindelwald, anybody? XD

Now with the Matterhorn location is really possible to this great track come back! o/

Midfield(even though wasn't my favorite), New York, Hong Kong, SSR11, Original. Seoul

Basically every track in fact when I think about this it's quite sad how many tracks weren't in GT5 right now.

Most of all, I want to see the return of Mid-Field Raceway. It is the best circuit for out-and-out competition, and would be interesting to see races on there with more than just 6 cars.

Complex String should be a really easy track to "port" to GT6. It is amost featureless in terms of enviorment and buildings.

Come on PD! Bring all the classic tracks back!

I wouldn't want straight ports, they need to make them all premium.
Look at Monaco in GT5, dat lifeless water/ports. 👎

Absolutely, there's a few tracks in GT5 that look virtually untouched from GT3, with the exception of a few soft barriers that end up littering the circuit.

What happened to Circuit Ricardo Tormo on GT PSP and TT? Why was that not in GT5? I'd like to see it in GT6, but I and everyone else here has no idea if it will be featured or not.

Hopefully, they'll bring the classic rally tracks, such as Tahiti, Swiss alps, and smoky mountain. Gt5 was really disappointing in the selection of off road tracks.
